Quaint cottage with garden views

Quaint, little cottage with garden views. A short drive to Oamaru and the cottage was good value for the location and provisions.

Washing machine provided however the laundry was a bit of a mess. I understand that not everyone will want to wash on their holiday so may not affect them.

Beautiful place to stay

It was a very beautiful place to stay. We were enjoying being around all those animals. The bed was very comfortable and we would have loved to stay there longer!

A relaxing start to our holiday

The owners were very nice. The facilities were everything you needed. The local wildlife was plentiful. The scenery was lovely. Able to relax and enjoy.

So pleased we stayed here.

This place is awesome. Quality of the highest. Good Breakfast, good toiletries, was just like being at home. Excellent linen and towels. Good heating and plenty of it. The shower was amazing also, so powerful. Going to go back and stay for longer next time.

Having to come home, really would have stayed another night if it hadn't already been booked.

Loved the big cat that visited and made me welcome

It was a very peaceful setting with cows and ducks. The accommodation was beautifully done with a seperate bedroom and a great shower. It had everything I needed

Relaxing, quaint and just lovely. Will be back and recommending to all!

Highlands on Homestead was wonderful. Spotless, excellent shower, really comfy bed, great wifi, about 10 minutes drive to the blue penguin centre ( our reason for visiting Oamaru). The farm animals and garden were so lovely to relax in and explore - can’t beat rural night skies either, so clear! . Breakfast was an added bonus!

I think a small heat pump for more instant warmth in the morning wouldn’t go astray 😉

Happiness at Highlands

Absolutely loved this wee gem..Quiet settling only 5 mins drive from all the amenities you could ever need. Well appointed , delightfully decorated with lots of thoughtful homely touches.

Everything! Very comfortable bed, lovely self contained apartment in a beautiful setting. Highland cows and alpacas thrown in also, and really lovely hosts.

Excellent stay and lovely hosts

The location of this absolutely charming property was perfect as it was a very close, 9 min drive into town, but felt like you were in the country staying at the beautiful farmstead. If you want to stay in town then choose a property in town. This beautiful self contained cottage or chalet is in a charming quiet area. We loved being out in nature & the location is very calm, with animals all around. Enjoyed seeing the sheep and the alpacas.

We loved everything about our stay except leaving. It is just lovely

Pleasant stay in a restful rural location

Place was very quiet and comfortable. Being able to walk around the rural property was great. Covered veranda made it easy to load the car in the rain. Separate bedroom to sitting room was an added advantage.

There was a lack of PowerPoints in the rooms and the quality of the appliances was poor.

Life on the farm.

The beautiful peaceful location. Loved meeting all the highland cattle and alpacas. Close to town where we had an excellent dinner. Jenny gave us some great recommendations on places to visit in the area.

A lovely, peaceful place to stay.

The cabin was set in it's own pretty garden next to the host's house. Everything we needed was provided and the bed was very comfortable. The host took us to feed the alpacas and highland cattle and told us all about them and the history of the property. The property is very peaceful and beautiful and only a short drive from Oamaru.

Jenny as a host was amazing. She gave an introduction to her place and was reachable for any questions and provided valuable insights on things to do as a tourist. The animals on the farm are adorable and the garden is beautiful

This is a very comfortable and quiet studio where I intend to stay on my next visit to Oamaru.

The host is very friendly and welcoming, The studio is very quiet and private with a large deck looking over the beautiful garden. It is only 10 minutes from central Oamaru. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom very dark for a good nights sleep. As a single female I felt very safe, knowing the host's home was only a short walk along the deck. There is free parking directly in front of the studio.

No improvements needed.

Lovely hosts who gave us a tour of the farm where we got to meet the amazing highland cows and alpacas. A five-to-ten-minute drive from the town centre.
