About this cottage rental
Gnomaste y'all! Welcome to our little piece of paradise! Located perfectly between Knoxville and Chattanooga this little cottage gives you access to everything the area has to offer. There is so much hiking, boating, fishing, etc nearby it is impossible to list it all. Enjoy the rural setting with gorgeous sunrises/sunsets along with the amazing night sky! All are welcome we can't wait to meet you!
The guest cottage/tiny home are yours to enjoy. Please also feel free to wander around the property which is mostly fenced.
Please note we do live on site and run a small hobby farm. There are chickens, peafowl, honey bees, goats, and dogs on the property along with whatever other animals wander this way. We are not responsible for any accidents involving wandering the yard. This may include tripping, running into a thorn bush or poisonous plant, seeing a cute animal you fall in love with, having a dog run up to you to say hello, finding an egg the chickens have stowed away, being followed by Apollo the peacock, getting a little too close the hive and being stung, etc.
For anyone with a bee or bird fear please let me know ahead of time. I cannot control the bees but they are kept tucked far away from the cottage and beyond possibly seeing one on a flower they are not a bother to guests in any way. The peacock does have a tendency of not respecting personal space and sometimes mistaking shoes/toes for food. He's friendly but not exactly the brightest. If you are not comfortable with him following you around the yard or possibly pecking you out of curiosity give me a heads up and I will keep him tucked away in his pen.
The chickens are free range. If you have such a fear of birds that this bothers you then our cottage may not be the best fit for your stay.
We are open to as much or as little interaction as you prefer. We live on site but come and go frequently. You may see us hanging around or we might be out having an adventure (or just working). Regardless we are always available by phone or email.
Generally speaking we allow self check in and check out. If you would like us to greet you please let me know and I will do my best to make that possible.
Within an hour you can be in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Tellico Plains, Ocoee etc. Within 1.5 hours you can be in the Smoky mountain national park or nearby in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg for any tourist activity you can imagine. Sweetwater itself is home to a beautiful downtown! We are minutes away from Watt's bar along with SO many outdoor activities! Just a lovely country setting to relax and recharge.
Inside the cottage we have local recommendations for food, drinks, drives, and attractions. A couple of them are listed below :)
Bigfoot outfitters - Benton, TN AMAZING rafting center with great guides
Cup Runneth Over - Sweetwater, TN great coffee, wonderful owners, and such a nice setting
Iron Works Grille - Tellico Plains TN is a great little place to sit by the river, have some food, grab a drink, etc
Friendly falls food and stuff - Wears Valley TN is another great little roadside stop. Gem mining, drinks, snacks, amazing owners, and beautiful views

Easy check-in/out but was a little confusing (probably because i didnt read everything). Nice, quiet, and comfortable place. We hope to be back again soon.

So much fun! For us the best part of the stay was the animals. We were able to hand feed the goats. The alpacas are so soft and the chickens, ducks and guineafowl were delightful. The cows on the next property over were entertaining as well. The bees were pretty low key due to the time of year that we visited.
The house has everything you need to be comfortable. Instant hot water and nice water pressure. The heat and ac work well. The kitchen had all the comforts of home that you can plug in. Fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils and most importantly coffee makers (both coffee pot and kureg).
The house was perfectly clean. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows.
The host was quick to reply to any question we had and she even did little extra things to make our stay wonderful.
We brought a 70 lb dog with us and he had the time of his life.
Outside there is a nice porch with a beautiful view of the sunset. Fire pit and hammocks are available in the yard. There is a basketball hoop.
It's a lovely property with lots to walk around and see.
I can't wait to come back again.

My wife and I stayed here with our dogs and it was perfect one night stay. Their farm is beautiful, the cottage was plenty spacious and very clean, and our pups even got to make some new friends with the goats and cows roaming around the property.

We had a wonderful time, visiting with the animals and wandering the property. Everything you need is in the cottage and all questions were answered promptly! The perfect place to get away from it all!

The cottage on Casey’s property was charming and perfect for our needs. We love living minimally, so the studio layout was great. We brought a foam mattress for our daughter. Even though the cottage is near Casey’s home, we felt relaxed and had privacy throughout our stay. Casey’s thoughtful touches like fresh cut flowers and farm eggs made us feel right at home. Our daughter especially loved seeing the animals and petting/feeding the goats! We were able to visit our family in Rockwood and explore some local attractions like The Lost Sea underground lake, the Duck Park, and Knoxville Botanical Gardens. We had a lovely time and miss it already!

Great place to relax while watching the farm animals graze; the neighborhood dog chase and herd the farm animals. The backyard views are amazing! Close to Sweetwater historic town. Yurt in the back near a body of water looks like heaven also. Ive already recommended this place to family. We plan on revisiting!

Loved the farm and location for hiking!

The property was exactly as described and allowed my dog to "meet" goats, chickens, and alpaca for the first time. I was rather surprised the roosters did not crow more. We (me and the dog) had a very relaxed, enjoyable stay.

The location of this property was what we wanted. The owner was flexible about pets and easy to communicate with. The property was clean. We're sorry that it was raining and we didn't get a chance to see the animals. Everything worked ok. The only issue we had with the property was that it's NOT a one bedroom. It's a studio without a couch or chairs to sit on if you don't want to be on the bed.

I'll be honest, the only reason I booked this property was because of the animals - they did not disappoint! The cottage itself was very cute and homey. We enjoyed our time here!

We had such a lovely stay... wish we could have spent more time there on-site. The property was very clean and manageable for myself and 3 of my kids, and the lovely bouquet of fresh flowers was so beautiful! My kids loved interacting with the animals...it got them cheerfully out of bed in morning after some very long afternoons/evenings spent elsewhere. 🙂 The peacefulness of the property was refreshing and I enjoyed the few opportunities I had to sit on the porch and just soak in the atmosphere. I truly hope we are able to come stay again!

Very clean and private studio with plenty of nature. Host met needs and ensured everything was in order. Great getaway off the grid a bit but with great hikes, vineyards and the lost sea near by.

Cute Place
Cute little cabin with a comfortable bed.
It was cold while I was there so didn’t get to use the rockers on the porch.
Animals were entertaining.
A comfy chair for reading would be nice.

Peaceful
Nice quiet property, near owners' house and farm animals' pen (fowl and goats). Fridge, toaster oven, portable electric two eye burner, coffee maker. Wash dishes by hand. Comfortable bed. Small two seater table inside and another on porch. Porch steps could use a handrail. Overall very nice.

Two day stay on the farm
Great location. Near many attractions. We needed an air mattress that we forgot to ask for ahead of time. we got it right away ,no issues. Loved seeing (and hearing) the animals. In spite of the rainy days we had a great time!

Perfect for animal lovers and those who love country settings!
This place was exactly as described...only better! The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The porch with the red rockers...the best! Absolutely adored being able to meet the goats, ducks, chickens, and a very handsome turkey! We made memories for sure. Wonderful stay!

Perfect little gem!
My family and I needed a place close to the underground lake while on our way from Georgia to Michigan and this place was perfect! The little house is so super cute! It is on a farm and the kiddos and grownups all loved seeing the chickens, goats, ducks and bunny rabbit! Our host was also super kind and left us some farm fresh eggs for breakfast and even offered to set the air mattress for our kiddos before we got there. I would love to visit again! Super peaceful mountain setting!

Friends & Family Adventure Vacay
I loved this tiny house!! Perfect location. Very peaceful. I brought the hubby and 2 kids (6 & 3). Board games, movies, video games and a huge yard to run and play in, plus close to the forest and other activities. We could sit out on the front porch and relax after the kids fell asleep. The owners were so very nice and kind. I would stay with the gnome again if we are ever back in town.
