Visiting from the Midwest and found this gem! The place was amazing! Parking was easy, the air conditioning worked well. The best part was the out door amenities. The pool, hot tub, tables, and best of all ambiance were just perfect. I will be coming back again for my next trip. The place was so perfect that we did not want to leave, just spend time in yard. This was my first time out there, thank you again so much for the great memories!

We spent a few very busy days in LA county sightseeing and college touring so it was perfect to return to this property in the afternoon to relax and recharge. It’s very close to 210 freeway yet it’s so quiet!

This awesome property really made for a great Pasadena visit. The unit is equipped smartly and completely. Comfortable beds and living room seating. Loved being able to gate ourselves off and enjoy the wonderful pool and pool deck. Located in a great neighborhood and the host (Jama) is very nice. Evenings on the pool deck looking at the mountains was really enjoyable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible vacation rental in Pasadena, and I cannot recommend it enough! The place has the best collection of tikis and Polynesian art I've ever seen, creating a wonderfully unique and tropical atmosphere. The property is beautifully appointed, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Plenty of privacy, and the rental is dog-friendly, which was a huge plus for me and my little dog. Jama, the host, was exceptionally helpful and hospitable, always available to ensure we had everything we needed.
One of the highlights for me was working remotely by the pool. The Internet connection was super-fast, making it an ideal spot for a weekday getaway. It's not often you find a place where you can work poolside without any connectivity issues!
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the quiet, safe neighborhood allowed me to sleep better than I do at home. Waking up refreshed each morning was such a treat.
For foodies, there are numerous fantastic dining options nearby. My new favorite breakfast spot on Lake Street is just a short distance away. Additionally, Tacos 210, the best taco truck I've encountered, offers a variety of delicious vegetarian choices.
Overall, this vacation rental exceeded all my expectations. I look forward to staying here again soon. If you're considering a trip to Pasadena, I highly recommend booking this Polynesian paradise!

We recently enjoyed a delightful stay at the "Polynesian Paradise" in Pasadena, and we were thoroughly impressed by the neighborhood—it felt incredibly safe and welcoming. Although it was a bit too chilly for swimming, we made the most of the hot tub, indulging in its warmth at every opportunity.
The property itself felt like a mini Disneyland, complete with beautiful colored lights and tiki torches both inside and out, creating a truly magical tiki bar paradise. It was like having our own little tropical retreat!
While we were busy exploring nearby attractions like the Huntington Museum and Gardens, Descanso Garden, the Pacific Asian Art Museum, and the Norton Simon Museum, our time at the property was so relaxing that we wished we had booked an extra day just to soak in the ambiance a bit more.

My family LOVED our stay! We were in town visiting my son at college and The Polynesian Paradise was the perfect oasis for my family to reconnect. The VRBO is SO beautiful and the location is perfect. It's everything one can need and more.

The location of the house is great, beautiful quiet neighborhood but also close to many stores and restaurants. The house looked just like the pictures, the backyard is a great private space. My teenagers liked just hanging out and relaxing after long days out and about.

We were in town visiting our son. The rental is adorable and we enjoyed our stay. If you have ever been to Trader Vic's you may have a few flashback moments. The owner is a collector of all things Trader Vic’s; fun and whimsical! We enjoyed relaxing by the pool.
The house is in Pasadena’s Historic Landmark District Bungalow Heaven filled with tree lined streets of lovely bungalows built from 1900-1930. The house was close to everything in Pasadena. Jama was a conscientious host checking in to make sure things were going smoothly. Overall an enjoyable stay.

The collection of retro Hawaiian/Polynesian decor is amazing and we found it to be fun (but may be overwhelming to some). The private pool and lovely landscaped patio offer a relaxing space to hang out. The beds were comfy, the kitchen efficient, the host helpful with restaurant recommendations. It's a little challenging for an adult to sleep in the upstairs loft as the only bathroom is downstairs which requires using some stairs and going outside a few steps on the patio to access the entrance door.

Quiet and safe feeling neighborhood. The area is a beautiful place to take a daily walk. The owner was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had. The pool was well maintained and a pleasant addition.

We loved our stay at Jama and Joanne’s rental.
The pool and spa were fantastic, and we all really enjoyed them. The seating areas around the pool were also lovely.
The accommodation was great for us (2 adults and 2 teens) and we found it very comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed. The Hawaiian themed decor is great and adds a special feeling to the rental. We found the location great for spending quiet time by the pool and for heading out to see the sights. Thanks so much for a lovely stay!

The house and yard match the photos and description perfectly. Any questions we had were answered quickly. House has everything you need for your stay.I felt like I was at home. Neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Yard amenities are very relaxing . House was very clean and spacious. Location was great for going to must tourist locations. Be prepared to think your are at a resort. I would definitely vacation here again.

My husband, one of my daughters and I stayed for 6 nights. It was a fantastic decision.
Jama was very easy to contact when we had questions.
She was more than kind, in her garden she has delicious tomatoes 🍅 which she very kindly shared with us.
You honestly feel like you are in paradise, all the decoration inside the house and the pool area makes you feel like you are in Hawaii.
Not to mention everything is very comfortable, very clean, very well equipped and located in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood.
The location is close to many attractions and tourist sites.
We had a wonderful trip full of adventure and relaxation.
We are looking forward to returning in the future!

My family and I stayed for 6 days and had a great time. Location was perfect to the Dodgers Stadium, Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory and so many more. The quite neighborhood gave us a sense of safety for morning walks. There is a pool and hot tub on the property which gave us hours of entertainment when we just wanted to chill for a day.
The loft was perfect for the kids to get away and the bed downstairs allowed my husband and I the opportunity to wake up, make coffee and not bother the kids.

The accommodations were great, and as they appeared in the photos and description. The towels were clean and fluffy, the bedding was comfortable (we didn’t sleep on the futons), the kitchen was well-stocked, the fireplace downstairs was cozy, the spa was hot and relaxing, there was plenty of outdoor area to enjoy for swimming, eating and socializing. The host was very responsive and answered our questions promptly. The decor was fun! I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Absolutely loved our stay. We came down south to celebrate a late Christmas with our adult children. This was the perfect setting to do just that. The backyard set up is hvery relaxing and felt very private. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

What a gem! The description & photos of this listing - as attractive as they are - don’t capture how amazing & delightful this property is until you experience it in person. Outside the setting is very private, quiet, & relaxing with multiple sitting areas for visiting, meals, games, reading etc. Although we had some rainy weather (January after all) we enjoyed the spa in the evening. Inside, super comfy beds & linens, well-equipped kitchen for simple meal prep, hot shower, smart tv & electric hearth that made for a very inviting & pleasant living space. Great location for Pasadena/Altadena area. Communication with Jama was easy & responsive throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time & look forward to a return visit to Paradise!

Tropical staycation! Feels like you’ve been transported to Hawaii minus the long flight. My kids swam in the pool all day for a week!! We paid extra for the heated pool and it was so worth it since we were visiting during the winter. The pool was almost 90 degrees the whole time! We could swim anytime of the day no matter the weather. The outside ambiance was amazing especially at night with all the lights and the volcano fireplace. The beds we’re comfortable and the inside gas fireplace was very cozy. They had one bed and a futon downstairs and one bed and a futon mattress on the floor upstairs. It was perfect for my family of four. The entrance to the upstairs is from outside, but you can talk from the upstairs to the downstairs no problem since it’s open air at the top. We also brought along our dog who loved squirrel watching and listening to the parrots that flew over. The neighborhood was beautiful and perfect place to walk our dog. Lots of Christmas lights in December! Lots of grass and felt very safe. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the stove, oven, toaster, and blender. Overall a wonderful vacation.

We recently stayed here again after staying back in May of this year. We absolutely loved the location as it was outside of the craziness that you get closer to LA.
We requested that the pool be heated, which Jama agreed to and was up front with the additional, yet reasonable fee. The pool is pretty large and probably takes quite a bit of energy to heat.
It rained for several days of our trip, and the owner checked in to make sure we were warm enough.
As it was last time, the communication was great. Also, the place had everything we needed (except a can opener :)) for a five day stay.
I’d definitely recommend this to anyone with young kids because of the pool and the cool loft.
You definitely feel secluded, yet close enough to everything you could hope for.

When you walk through the gate you are magically transported to a Polynesian resort complete with pool and hot tub and your own private villa. There is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the weather and a table large enough to spend quality time with family either playing games or enjoying a meal together. The studio apartment area was large, clean and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with what every you would need should you want to cook. The loft bedroom was a nice addition with a private entrance. Since the owners live on the premises it was very easy to contact them regarding any questions we might have and they responded in a timely fashion. I found all the Polynesian decor to be quite fun. We spent a lot of time looking over all the vintage items that had been rescued from numerous restaurants. What a great collection. I would definitely recommend this property to friends who might want to stay in the Altadena area and would definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay here! The property is very quiet and you really feel like you're in your own private paradise.
The pool was fabulous and the spa was relaxing. The only issue we had was it was slightly difficult for us to get in and out of the spa. The surrounding plumeria trees while beautiful, have grown into the area where the steps are located so we were not able to stand upright to get in or out of the spa. We also did not use the spa at night because didn't see a light in the spa itself so we decided not to try and get in there after it had gotten dark. The outdoor patio tables are comfy and the fire table and lava rock fireplace helped to keep us warm when the temperature dipped at night.
If you like Hawaii or vintage tiki culture, you'll love the inside of the house! There's plenty to look at and admire. The kitchen was fully stocked although we didn't use a lot of the items. There is a lot of decor in the house and we also noticed it was quite dusty in the areas that are not touched on a regular basis. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless.
Overall, we loved this place. We were married on Oahu 27 years ago and love all things Hawaiian. We enjoyed the privacy, the quiet and even the daily visit from a neighborhood squirrel around 5pm. We named him 5 o'clock Charlie :).
