About this house rental

About the home

“Southport Haven” is a beautifully appointed, light filled, walking distance from the beach and pet friendly home in Cape Woolamai. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

Downstairs are Bedroom 2 & Bedroom 5 (with a couch and TV), a Bathroom (with bath & shower) and a separate Toilet. The double Garage has been converted into a third living area, with a huge Smart TV, subscription to Netflix, a PlayStation 3, a lounge suite and a table tennis table as well as a fridge. There is also a fully equipped Laundry (with washing machine and clothes dryer) with access to outside area.

Upstairs is a large open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Living room (with flat screen Smart TV & DVD player), leading onto a large covered Balcony. Bedroom 1 has a WIR & smart TV, plus an ensuite (with bath, shower & toilet), and this floor also contains Bedrooms 3 and 4 (each with BIR) and a separate Toilet.

Outdoor Areas

Outdoor living is amply catered for, with a spacious balcony opening off the upstairs living room. This fully sheltered space is equipped with a gas BBQ and a quality outdoor setting, as well as a couple of reclining sun lounges. Downstairs is another sheltered deck, also equipped with an outdoor setting, which provides a great area to sit and watch the kids play with their pets in the fully fenced backyard. There is ample off-street parking for two vehicles and a boat, with a single carport and a wide paved driveway

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, an Aldi pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, etc. plus a sink, fridge, dishwasher, oven and electric cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The home has ducted heating upstairs, a wall mounted reverse cycle A/C in bedroom 5. Additionally, there are two mobile heaters, one in the games room and one in bedroom 4.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 12 beds, accommodating up to 15 guests:

Bedroom 1 (upstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 2 (downstairs): One Queen bed
Bedroom 3 (upstairs): One Tri-bunk bed
Bedroom 4 (upstairs): Two sets of Single bunks
Bedroom 5/Second living area (downstairs): Two sets of Single bunks

Please note: The Tri-bunks have a double bed base with a single bed above it.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm (unless by prior arrangement). Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies.

A great place to stay for a big group!
A great place to stay for a big group!
Our big group have stayed here before and we love its location. We catered for all meals so we loved having lots of salad bowls, plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, tea towels and two fridges. The home offers spaces that are roomy and comfortable and allow people to relax inside and out on the deck, to play games, watch the tennis, take afternoon siestas or easily stroll to the beach. We appreciated having a excellent communication and quick responses for a handy person to attend and replace the lock on the window in the bedroom upstairs. It was great to be able to open it for fresh air! Many thanks! We needed small things like a good scourer and a large pot with lid for cooking pasta. Saucepan lids were missing for some cookware. There were lots of frypans which was fabulous however not all of them sat well on the electric cook tops. Maybe also consider adding a big colander, a salad spinner and some large serving spoons to the kitchen cutlery? Also we suggest appropriate bags for organics and three kitchen bins - labelled- for collecting organic matter, recycling and landfill. We cleaned all the bins during our stay and left organics in a rubbish bags given collections are fortnightly and the bin would not have been pleasant for the next lot of guests. Also needed is a calendar for fortnightly 2022 collection dates. The home is very comfy ... some ideas for other improvements that would have made our stay even better ... add a couple of occasional chairs with seats and backs upstairs. Also consider a book shelf or shelves along the wall at the end of dining table for extra storage. This area becomes a clutter of bags with things we bring like food stuffs, baking pans, spices and so on. The microwave was great however the electric cooktop only had one hotplate that offered strong heat for cooking. Maybe gas if this is to be upgraded at some point? And otherwise, thank you for letting us stay. We always leave rested and relaxed with many happy memories!
