Below you will find details about our 2 bed/ 2 bath home, Pete's Mission Beach Getaway, located in Mission Beach.
Yes, you can have it all! Enter Pete's and be transported to your San Diego beach getaway. Wake up to the smells from the bakery below, Olive Bakery and the sounds of the sea. Conveniently located right between the Pacific Ocean and beautiful Sail Bay, just a block to either one and about a half mile North of historic Belmont Park with amusement and entertainment!
The light and airy living room has high ceilings and skylight, tastefully and comfortably furnished with new Pergo-style wood floors. The California-style kitchen is open to the living room and has tile countertops, Saltillo tile floors and natural wood cabinets. The first bedroom has a top of the line queen bed and flat screen TV. Upstairs is a large, semi-enclosed loft area with a queen bed, sitting space, and a door to a small balcony. Upstairs you will also find a small nook with a trundle bed (two singles). Ceiling height in the trundle bed area is about 5 feet so it's best for kids. There are two bathrooms in the home, a full bath/shower downstairs and a walk-in shower upstairs.
We can provide an air conditioning unit for an additional fee. Please contact us to reserve the inventory.
No need to search for parking by the beach as this unit comes with it's own garage! Please see parking restrictions below. Extra large vehicles won't fit but there is free overnight parking a few blocks away. There is also a coin operated laundry room near the garage for your convenience. Everything you need is here to enjoy your vacation!
This location is hard to beat! It's close to all the main attractions: SeaWorld, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Old Town with it's excellent restaurants, Belmont Park and it's authentic 1920's wooden roller-coaster, Seaport Village, downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, the Convention Center and Petco Park. Come and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer including our unbeatable weather!

Professional photos are expensive and we can not re-photograph the rental every time something is changed but we do maintain the listing content with any notable furnishing changes especially related to sleeping arrangements. Please note: for the credit card verification, a $2 hold will be placed on the card to run the report. This hold will never process and will fall off automatically within 7 days. We like our guests to feel at home as soon as they arrive! We provide a 'starter kit' to help our guests get settled without needing to rush off to the store. We can provide a portable a/c for an additional fee, contingent on availability. Please contact us to reserve one in our limited inventory as soon as possible. Deliveries are scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Our kits include: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, linens, towels, kitchen sponges, dish soap, laundry detergent and fabric softener, dishwasher soap when applicable, trash bags, either Keurig coffee makers with k-cups or standard coffee makers, extra blankets, sometimes extra pillows, extra sheets-for sleeper sofas, hair dryers, ironing boards, kitchens fully stocked-enough for max occupancy with some extra settings, toasters, some waffle makers, blenders, tool kits, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, co2/fire detectors, and most homes have heat available.
While on vacation, we want our guests to enjoy their vacation to the fullest and we feel in order for our guests to do this, they should also feel informed. Last Minute Booking Policy:
If a guest books with us directly or on any OTA such as Airbnb and VRBO, within 72 hours of arrival, verification credentials are required. By making a payment on the reservation, the guest agrees to comply with our last minute booking policy.
To properly vet a guest with such short notice requires the following; a “selfie” photo specifically of the booking guest's face and holding either a Driver's License, Passport or State ID photo under their chin. We are just looking for a name to match and the photo on the ID to match that of the person in the selfie. This can be sent by email or text to our company email address. Additionally, we need to confirm guest details such as, payment, contact information, applicable check-in time, number of guests and ages, any pets, etc.
This process is required, and if a guest refuses to comply then the reservation will be canceled. We have found this procedure to be successful in avoiding fraud, and protecting all parties! We appreciate your cooperation and we are available to help with any questions.

Location was awesome. Beach on one side and the cove on the other.
Bikes are useless. Unless you’re shots are up to day, I would not and did not touch those rusty things.
Boogie board and chairs were awesome. Extra charge for air conditioning for a $400 plus per night place was ridiculous. $35 per day. Next time I will just add that to the nightly rate and find a spot with AC.
Overall, there was plenty of room. 3.8 out of 5.

We have stayed here before. It's a perfect location and a nice place. The smell of the bakery below will make you want some and it very good. The inside is a little dated but the experience as a whole was great.

You are steps away from the beach, no roads to cross to get there. The condo was exactly as it was in the pictures so it was a relief to know I got what I paid for. Everything was clean and cozy. The bakery downstairs was so good too. Belmont park was only a 15 minute walk so the condo was in a perfect location to it. All of the codes given for the property worked without any problems. The only downside we encountered was the parking in the garage. We have a Honda van and we made it fit and it was difficult to maneuver in backwards but my husband got the job done and it was also great to know our van was safely tucked away so really no complaints because they do offer a fully covered garage. The neighbors had a car so it worked out ok for us. This condo made for a perfect retreat with plenty of bed space and seating for our family of 5. I would love to come back and rent from them again!! Also the communication from Nancy's Rentals was great. They called and sent emails to us ensuring we were doing well.

Came to San Diego to tour colleges with our kids wanted a fun spot by beach for some fun too. Communication with owners was good, check-in/out easy, nice to have off-street parking in garage but best to bring a small vehicle otherwise tough to get in/out of it in the little alley behind the unit. Beds were OK, place was kind of hot/muggy in July, fans helped, you can pay extra for an AC unit witch was locked when we were there. Plenty of space for 4 people. 2 minute walk to beach. Bikes and boogie boards were great. Loved, loved loved Olives Bakery downstairs from unit.

We had a great Thanksgiving stay. The place was exactly as described in the listing. Great location just steps from the beach and the morning smells from the bakery are amazing. Parking is very tight and would not work for a huge SUV or truck but is otherwise doable. Well equipped and very clean. Bikes are older but they worked great. We enjoyed the nice big table for our Thanksgiving meal. Great customer service and we would book again.

This location was perfect for four gals from ND that have been best friends for 38 years! Beautiful beach, boardwalk, bars, restaurants and shops all within short walking distances. The property was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The beach chairs and boogie boards that were provided were such a HUGE asset! We all had an absolute blast out in the waves!! We all appreciated that we were working with a professional company. There were no surprises and the orientation guide was very informative. The personal phone calls were such a nice touch! I would definitely rent from Nancy's Vacation Rentals again! We have already recommended them to several friends!!

Great location! Short walk to the beach and several restaurants. 15-20 minute drive to the Zoo and 10 minute drive to Sea World.
Property itself was great-we had plenty of room for 4 adults. Bikes were a nice extra feature.

The property was really nice. I expected the property to have the same vicinity to the beach as shown online. The neighbors kept up loud music both late night and early morning. I did appreciate the level of concern and attention from the manager to address this issue. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband, our 10-years old son and I booked Pete´s Mission Beach appartment for 2 weeks. We arrived after a 6 hours drive from Phoenix in San Diego. We rent a middle class car, because it was told that the garage is very small..
everything went perfectly! All the codes that we got from Nancy´s Rental Vacation went perfectly! The garage opened without problems and it is really necessary to rent a medium/small car.
The garage is for 2 cars and it is possible if both neighbours park backwards...it is a little tricky, but perfectly possible and really luxury to have a place in a garage at Mission Beach!! There is absolutely no other parking space..
The appartment was perfectly equipped, everything you need was in there. Additionally to that, Nancy´s Rental put toilet paper, shower gel, washing tabs for the dish washer and so on in the appartment!
Unfortunately, there was a neighbour who must have had something like a cinema sound system or something like that. When he startet to watch TV in the evening, our mirror at the wall startet to vibrate and no communication was possible anylonger.
We contacted Nacy´s Rental Vacation and they did everything they could to stop that.
The rest of the neighbourhood was perfect! The beach was 2 minutes by foot, gorgeous! Some restaurants and everything you need is also just a few steps away.
We defenetely recommend this appartment, we had a nice time at Pete´s Mission Beach!

Petes Mission House was a great place for my siblings and I to reunite for a few days. It was spacious enough for all of us to hang out and have meals together and play games at the dining room table.
The kitchen provided everything we needed to cook meals along with the simple necessities of dish soap/ dishwasher soap, paper towels, dish towels.
The sleeping arrangement was fine for us as we are a close knit bunch! There is one private bedroom downstairs that attaches to the downstairs bathroom. There is another queen bed upstairs in the open loft that shares the space with a twin trundle bed. We also used the pull out couch bed in the living room.
This place is located two doors down from the boardwalk which was just perfect, I'd rather be there than right on the boardwalk as it is a bit loud and crowded with people going by. We rode the bikes that were provided, the boardwalk is great to ride on along with the paths around the bay.
I was a bit concerned about not having a patio or washing machine/dryer but it was fine. There is a washing machine and dryer located in the building, it does cost to use but the apt. provided a small jug of tide laundry soap which I thought was nice.
We also liked having a keyless entry, which made it nice for all of us to come and go without having to worry about who has the key.
The bakery downstairs is a bonus along with the choice of many other cute little coffee places to enjoy in the area.
We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely rent it again.

This was the best vacation ever and the accommodations had a lot to do with it! It was clean, close to the beach, checkout list was easy and everything else was just as advertised in the listing. We have a spread of ages and the boogie boards were an added bonus!

The property was clean and comfortable. My husband counted 100 steps from the beach! Many places to walk to. The bikes were fun. The management was extremely helpful. They answered any questions we had at anytime. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They really cared that we had a good experience. It was so nice to have a garage to park in. I hadn’t noticed there was no air conditioning however that was not a problem. How cool it was to have the bakery nearby for breakfast and coffee not to mention the cinnamon rolls. This was a great spot to experience San Diego!

This is just four houses from the beach. There are lots of restaurants and cafes to walk to. Really appreciated the beach chairs, bodyboards and sand toys that were provided. The only difficult part was the parking. The garage is small and one time the other tenant didn't leave enough room for us.

On our 2nd night, the toilet from upstairs wasn’t working properly which caused it to leak down into the bathroom downstairs. The bad part was that by the time we got back to the house, it was late. We were up until midnight cleaning up the mess it created.
The managers were very responsive to help and troubleshoot. The next day, they seems to be more concerned about holding up the pieces than really fixing the problem. Instead of calling a plumber they wanted to wait until I checked out because it would’ve been more expensive to do so. Their solution was for me to turn the toilet water off and not use it for the rest of my stay. This was an issue because I had family and kids coming for the day, and caused a real inconvenience.
Aside from this, the place from the inside was exactly like the pictures. The bathroom door downstairs wouldn’t close either, so it made it a bit awkward when someone was using the bathroom. The picture on the site needs to be updated as the building seems a little more worn down.
Overall, location was great and everything else in the house was functional and usable.

Beach Getaway
Our stay was great and overall the unit is clean and in a great location. Waking up to the bakery & coffee downstairs was AMAZING! Really my only complaint was trying to get bath towels for 3 days. It was frustrating but I understand things happen. It was nice having access to beach chairs, umbrellas and such. We enjoyed the unit it was very spacious, great for families!

Close to beach
This is literally steps from the beach. Cute little place that was easy to find. If you have a big vehicle, you may want to find parking elsewhere. We parked on the other side of Mission at a free parking lot on the bayside. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Close to the beach and boardwalk and good food within walking distance.

Perfect location
It was amazing the beach is 3 houses away it’s in a very convenient location and you can walk to a few restaurants in the area. They called to make sure everything was great during our stay and asked if we needed anything. ** the smell of cinnamon rolls when you walked outside in the morning was amazing**we will definitely be back

Pete's Mission Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at Mission Beach. This unit was only steps away from the beach and boardwalk and in the opposite direction we were close to dining and shops along Mission Blvd. Everything we needed was a walk or bike ride away. We appreciated having the beach chairs, boogie boards, and beach towels available so we did not have to travel with them. We have a family of teenage boys, so the space in the unit was just right. The only thing missing is an outdoor area at the unit to grill or do some people-watching. We would definitely recommend this location for a family and we would love to come back, but perhaps stay in the front-facing unit that has a small balcony.

Don’t try to find it at night
Once I found the garage in the alley, I had to squeeze the tiny rental next to a Karen with a huge SUV complaining about not having enough room on her side. Knocking on my door to move the car over when it’s 1/2 the size of hers. The bed sheets felt like sandpaper so I grabbed a blanket from the closet and that smelled like pee. Other than that, the inside was clean and 2/3 TVs worked. Close to the beach and boardwalk. It was a good trip.

Many things not as advertised in listing
While this is a spacious unit, we found it to be in dire need of cleaning. Dirty furniture, unwashed pots and pans in the cupboards, drawers in kitchen sticky with dirt and grime. The gas bbq advertised in listing does not exist, instead there is an electric George Forman grill on landing with no outlet to plug it into. Upon calling the property manager about the grill we were asked to send photos proving there was no electrical outlet on the landing and then we were told their maintenance person had broken their leg.The garage, listed as a two car garage is not big enough for two cars unless they are both subcompact cars, which was not specified in listing. Although we knew this to be an upstairs unit, there are two flights of cement and metal stairs leading to it, which are left out of the photos. There is also no table or umbrella although it says there is in listing. If you are looking for a property with outside seating this is not it.

San Diego wedding trip
Perfect location, clean, everything we needed available. Parking not connected and tight when sharing garage with other rental unit. May be a new issue but neighbors who live in 4 plex blast their music off and on to the point you can sing along. Management was very responsive but is still off and on an issue.

Sister Trip 2021
This condo had plenty of room for 4 adults. Everything we needed to make our meals was provided, except for coffee mugs. There were only 3 coffee cups so one of us had to either use a glass mason jar or wash one after someone was done with their coffee to use it. Other than that our stay was amazing, fun, and perfect! The smell of cinnamon rolls in the morning from the Olive Bakery is glorious and delicious. We would love to stay here again next time we head to Mission Beach.

Beach Getaway
We stayed at this property in June to get away from AZ heat and it was great. Location was optimal, everything that you could need was within walking distance, equal distance between the beach and the bay, and close drives to local attractions like the zoo or Sea World. The property management was great. We had difficulties on one day with the garage door and they were there within the hour to help, very responsive.
The apartment has a loft with two beds and a full bath, there is a bedroom and full bath downstairs, and a pull out couch.

Visit to Mission Beach
My family loved Pete's Mission Beach Getaway. There was plenty of space for all of us (myself, wife and 3 kids ages 14, 12 and 8), the location was perfect and having a garage was very helpful. We really enjoyed waking up every morning to the smell of the bakery below, and being so close to the beach made it easy to take walks or bike rides every morning along the beach. We also really enjoyed all of the extra things that were provided - bikes, beach toys, chairs, beach towels, etc... All of this together made it very easy for us traveling in from out of state to enjoy our trip, with no hassles.

Close to everthing.
Great communication. The property is a little dated, but we are a little dated our selves. Clean unit. The garage door is a little tricky. Sun shines on sensor making it an adventure to close, but doable. Community laundry area needs work. Didn't use it. Birds nesting inside on water heater. All in all had a great time. Love waking up to the bakery smells every morning!
