Small town, quiet year round family neighborhood on Cassadaga Lakes. 3 minutes to Lily Dale - you can even kayak or bike there! Just 55 minutes from Holiday Valley Ski Resort. Bemus Point on Chautauqua Lake is a 20 minute back roads drive. Tarbox Road Recording Studio is a 4 minute drive. Property is in the heart of Amish Country.

This cozy house on the lake is stocked with warm blankets and you can snuggle up to the fireplace with mulled wine and hot cocoa with gorgeous views of the frozen lake. Snowshoes are provided for our guests! You can also cross country ski or take a day trip to 2 ski resorts (Peak n’ Peek or Holiday Valley). A beautiful way to spend a winter weekend out of the city.

This house is awesome! Very Clean, location was great. Plenty of room as we were not falling over each other, played plenty of games and cards which were provided. Spent a lot of time on very spacious porch with the whole family just talking after dinner. We brought our own boat which we docked there, and the guys went fishing every day! I spent time on the dock just sitting and reading by the water, very peaceful! It was a great week!

This property was excellent! It literally had everything and beyond what we were expecting. The house was very clean and had all the supplies again beyond what was expected. We had a few days with rain so the large garage was great to play games in along with picnic tables that was under roofing to keep us dry was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this property and Kim was extremely prompt and a pleasure to communicate with when we had questions. Consider this property for your next get away!

This lake house did not disappoint. The pictures are nothing compared to the real thing. You step into a high-quality design architecture digest-worthy home. From the landscaping, and beautifully decorated home to the well-stocked kitchen. I usually have to buy a ton of items to make my family comfortable however not at Kim's Lake house. They thought of everything. Ample silverware, toiletries, cushions, TVs, and even a reading and computer nook. You never know how much a home could bring you joy until you stay at a home like this.
We were in love with the lake view, and the quiet peaceful neighborhood. Slept so comfortably in the king-size bed together with all the other rooms so well portioned and positioned in the home. The master suite was so comfortable that just that room would have been enough for me for the entire stay.
All I can say is thank you Kim for your kindness with our last-minute updates. Your prompt responses throughout made this so easy.

I've stayed at many VRBOs over the years but Blue Oar has really set the bar high for me from now on. Firstly, the location setting was perfect. A quiet street with gorgeous lake views that can be enjoyed from the large front porch with comfy seating to include a relaxing porch swing. There is plenty of parking. And lots of outside space as well, not only there at the house, but at the private beach area that has a cool firepit and a dock with seating. When we were there it was too early in the season to enjoy the lake but during the summer I imagine it would be amazing with the many water activities you could enjoy. I want to complement the owners for how well appointed their rental is. We enjoyed cooking several of our meals in the kitchen and it was as well appointed as any of our own homes. Everything you could need is provided. The bathrooms were equally well appointed and the house is so charming. We loved the living area, with the comfortable couches and seating and a couple of us needed to check into work and made good use of the little office/library room just off the front entryway area. They had also provided many board games and we used the dining table area in the evenings to enjoy playing games. There were little extras here and there throughout the house that we discovered during our stay. Rarely do you find a rental property where you feel "at home" but Blue Oar felt like a home away from home for me, and the rest of our friend group as well. Thank you!

We had a girls weekend here. The house is decorated so cute inside and out! We all had plenty of comfortable space and more importantly when 6 of us needed to shower there was plenty of hot water! The kitchen is so well stocked and everything was so lovely. We all were looking for a weekend to come back! This is such a gem and we had such a good time!

The surrounding towns do seem to shut down after Labor Day, so that is just something to be aware of when booking dates! We had a hard time finding open restaurants.

This recent trip was our 6th year at the Blue Oar and it never fails to disappoint. My family and I took full advantage of the amenities, and were pleased to find a smaller kayak for children to use. After so many years, we finally decided to head to the Stockton Hotel for dinner and came away very impressed. We made our usual trips to the Dunkirk beaches and Midway for the kids, as well as Bemus Point, which is a short trip away. We've already booked for next year and look forward to checking out the Blie Canoe as well.

We had a fantastic time at Blue Oar in Cassadaga. Kim is an amazing host, so energetic and informative. The house is beautifully decorated and every need thoughtfully considered. We watched beautiful sunrises over Lake Cassadaga from the front porch. There is a huge backyard and all the countless treasures inside the garage (bikes, games, toys). We had our own private pier and fire pit which we loved! At the pier, the paddleboat was a hit, along with the kayaks and paddle boards. There was plenty to do for kids and adults alike. You really can't do better in a rental, given the quality of home and all that's provided. We took away nothing but great memories.

Our whole family had an amazing Memorial Day weekend with so many things for everyone to do — paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat, fishing and biking. The owner has literally thought of everything. We had perfect weather so the outdoor activities were paramount. Even if the weather did not cooperate, we would have had plenty to do inside. The kitchen was great as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. So cozy in the living room and porch— plenty of room for all of us! We’ve already booked our stay for next year!

The house was perfect!! The decor looked like it was straight out of a pottery barn catalog. We had a wide age range of family staying at house and they thought of everything. The first floor bathroom and bedroom was perfect for someone with limited mobilty. This place would be awesome in the summer with all the fun lake stuff they have, and the chairs right on the lake. My sisters, husband, and I needed a place to be close to our father's family and this was the perfect place. We were lucky to have a beautiful fall week but look forward to coming back during the summer to enjoy the lakeside amenities, including a fire pit with plenty of firewood. We stayed during Halloween, Kim provided a huge bowl of candy, unbeknownst to us this was the main trick or treating route - it made for a perfect way to spend a perfect fall evening. There is no other way to describe this property other than perfection!!! Third time my friends and I have stayed in this beautiful home and it's never a disappointment. Everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay is provided. Plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, kitchen gadgets at your fingertips. The entire house is squeaky clean. The electric fireplace adds a warm and comfy touch. Plenty of firewood wood available if needed. The deck area is great for enjoying the lake with a warm cup of cocoa or coffee. The Blue Oar is a fantastic vacation spot. The house is very well stocked and has tons of activities to do inside and out. Games, bikes, kayaks, SUP, pedal boat, etc. It is also just a half hour drive to some nice towns with more things to do and see. The lake is quiet and it is very relaxing to sit on the private dock and take in the beautiful surroundings. The house is very well organized and had everything we needed to prepare meals for 7 people.
