About this villa rental
Spectacular and overwhelming sunset views of the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea, Pillsbury Sound and St. Thomas. Enter paradise through the large stone entryway to this professionally decorated, constantly updated, luxury villa. The Villa has large glass sliding wall panels that offer sweeping outdoor views and opens for indoor/outdoor living on the huge, covered veranda. Enjoy million-dollar views and fabulous sunsets and on clear days Puerto Rico comes into view which is 60 miles away. This villa is constantly booked by returning quests with excellent scores on all booking platforms. There are very few Villas in St John that offers what Villa Amerigo has to offer.
The villa has a whole house generator that comes on automatically when power is interrupted-which happens frequently on the island. Sometimes for 15 plus hours and usually goes out once per week for some length of time. A Whole House Generator means everything stays on including the air conditioning. ONLY approximately 10% of the homes on St. John have whole house generators. Some have small generators and Telsa wall units that don’t operate anything but lights and refrigerators. All Villas have electric water pumps that do not work with power outages. You won't have to worry about spoiled food, hot nights or no water if you book Villa Amerigo
Multi-Split super quiet Air Conditioners (this is not a window unit) are installed for your comfort. With individually controlled units in each bedroom and in the main living area. This villa has a huge, covered veranda that allows you to keep the large glass wall of windows open to walk effortlessly between the inside and outside living & dining area and enjoy the trade winds and daytime high temperatures between 78-88 degrees year round.
The Villa has one of the largest private pool and deck in Cruz Bay with plenty of chairs and lounges to accommodate a full villa. There is another lower Pool Veranda which allows guests to be poolside but in the shade. There are 2 off street assigned parking spaces per unit. A rarity on St. John.

Amazing view and great proximity to Cruz Bay.
The place is as advertised: clean, well air-conditioned, comfortable beds, nice outdoor showers and pool.
The hidden gem of this property is Linda the manager. She was so helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Our stay would have been much less enjoyable without her, she really goes above and beyond what I expect from a property manager!

This is a beautiful property with gorgeous views. It was clean and stocked with everything you need for a beach vacation. Linda was very helpful - we got in later than expected and she picked us up at the ferry. There was a maintenance issue and this was responded to promptly. It was a great stay, and we hope to return!

Perfect location a 2 min driver to downtown Cruz Bay, with breathtaking sunsets. Couldn’t be happier about our stay, the caretakers were more than helpful even letting us know that the grounds keeper would show up 1 day during specific hours, meeting us to check in and even asking if we’d like our fridge stocked before getting there. . If you’re looking for a place very close to town, quite, huge bathrooms, spacious bedrooms, giant covered deck, with great views of amazing sunsets behind St Thomas, I highly recommend this place.

Recently returned from a week long stay at Villa Amerigo. The views were spectacular. The layout was perfect for 2 couples as there are duplicate master suites with combination indoor/outdoor showers. The 1/2 bath off the living room was convenient as well. We spent almost all of our time on the huge outdoor covered deck.
The pool was nice and there was ample seating, we were the only ones at the pool everytime we used it. There's a bathroom by the pool and a covered veranda.
YOu really need a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road is steep. We did walk a few times but the road is step and there is no shoulder or sidewalk so never tried it after dark. Quick drive into town for dinner and shopping. A number of beaches are 10-20 minute drive.
I'm already thinking for rebooking for 2024 or 2025.

Incredible villa for 2 couples
We stayed here for 3 nights and totally loved it! This is perfect for 2 couples because it has 2 master bedroom suites and awesome outdoor showers. We would definitely stay here every time that we visit St John. And the sunsets every night amazing and the views overlooking Cruz Bay! You definitely need to rent a AWD vehicle because the road there is steep and very bumpy towards the end. The pool was perfect and we always had it to ourselves. The only complaint was that they have a stacked washer/dryer and the dryer on top looks like it’s going to fall off when the washer is going. It needs to be stabilized.

Overall I enjoyed the stay. The property is a bit tired and worn, especially the furniture and amenities such as linens. There is a great outside deck overlooking Cruz Bay.

The house is amazing best of use in Cruz Bay in our opinion you definitely need a cheap ticket to the property very close to town and easy access to all beaches patio equipment was wonderful and the pool was in great shape I would definitely select this location again to stay here

It’s ok.
Views from the villa are amazing and the pool is nice to cool down in. Like previous reviewer‘s mentioned for the cost of this villa you would expect to have nicer linens, the towels are in pretty bad shape. It also would’ve been nice to have hand soap in the bathrooms and the beach chairs are 1 wrong look away from needing a tetanus shot. Overall it is a good property minus the attention to some of the amenities.

Pictures do NOT do the justice!
The views from the villa are absolutely stunning - especially the sunsets. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this spacious, gorgeous villa, the fact that the kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything that we might need made family breakfasts and dinners so much more pleasant. It is very conveniently located with a couple of grocery stores at the bottom of the hill, did not have an issue getting up/down in a 2WD the hill during the storm that went through the island one of the days. My only advise is to add to the "getting there" instructions that googling "Villa Amerigo" took us directly to the villa, while typing in the actual address provided in the instructions packet did not seem to take us to the correct place..
We will definitely be back to the lovely St John and hope that this property will be available for our next stay!! Thank you for this gem!

Beautiful Villa & Views
Beautiful villa with a fantastic porch. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool as well. It would have been perfect if the main living area was air conditioned. Both bedrooms have air but running the AC with the bedroom doors open as suggested still didn't cool the area enough. Other than that our stay was fantastic!

Beautiful Villa
We rented this villa on our first trip to St. John. The location and views of Cruz Bay are amazing. The condo is very spacious with everything exactly as pictured. There is only AC in the bedrooms, so the main living area of the condo is typically pretty warm. This didn't bother us much as we spent most days out on the island. The ACs cooled the bedrooms very quickly so we were able to sleep comfortably. The condo did have beach chairs (although they are quite old), beach towels, and 2 coolers for us to use. They also had several ice packs in the freezer so we didn't need to purchase ice to keep things cold.
Although it is relatively close to Cruz Bay, you cannot walk because it is located up on an extremely high hill. The area was very quiet and peaceful.
My only recommendation to the owners would be to upgrade the villa with nicer linens for beds and bathrooms. For the price we paid I felt that these were quite old and used.

Spectacular
We had an amazing time overlooking the gorgeous views. The outside showers are such a neat experience. This house has all the amenities and furniture you need to relax and enjoy your vacation. It's close to the beach and town. Or if you want to stay at home the grocery store is near by too! I would highly recommend this home.

We liked the unit we rented. The terrace was great, fabulous view!
We had some issues with no water in our unit, and the pool area was not kept clean. After we called, someone was sent over and cleaned up!

Great Spot!
Great villa, was perfect for our trip to St. John! Beautiful view and the pool was great. Both bedrooms had king beds and amazing outdoor showers. I would recommend having a car to get to and from town as it is at the top of a large hill.

Beautiful Atmosphere
We loved staying here. The views are stunning and the open air/ indoor outdoor living was amazing. We loved to open the doors first thing in the morning and feel the warm breezes. The deck is big and comfortable. Being able stay outside during a rain shower was a huge bonus.

A few suggestions
We were late getting in because the cleaner was still working. She was not finished until 6:00 pm. It is a lovely house with great views from the deck. The pool was three levels down and one member of our party was unable to use it because of an arm injury. You would need to be very fit to walk to and from town. The road to the house is a steep incline. The beach chairs were heavy and awkward to carry. They were not really beach chairs. Our mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. An outside hose would be helpful in washing off the sand f rom the beach

Outstanding location!
This villa was well appointed, very clean, close to Cruz Bay and had terrific views. The kitchen was well appointed, the grill was perfect for us for nights when we stayed in to cook. The pool is perfect!! Huge pool deck. Tara was wonderful and assisted us with the smallest of items very promptly. Really enjoyed the taxi service from Chico. He was amazing!

Amazing home with spectacular views!
My favorite feature were the fully retractable doors making for a seamless indoor/outdoor flow. Two equal private master suites, both with very comfortable beds & a beautiful outdoor shower. Made some amazing meals in the well appointed kitchen & new bbq. Would love to stay here again!

Beautiful place! Views of Cruz Bay are breathtaking. Very roomy. Two full size bedrooms.
Both bedrooms had attached full size baths with indoor/outdoor showers. Kitchen was nice. No hurricane damage. We drank the tap water all week and no issues. Very beautiful! Highly recommended. St John is beautiful! My wife and I Eloped to St John. Trunk Bay is a few minutes drive. The only negative is the road/hill up to the house, but it's part of the great experience! GO!

Great view, huge covered veranda
Villa Amerigo is high on a hill with a fantastic view yet it is very close to town. The drive into town takes only 2 or 3 minutes down the steep hill. We wanted to be near town because we went out to dinner every night.
The best part of the house is the huge covered veranda with wicker sofa and two chairs, dining table, as well as a small high top table to enjoy the views of Cruz Bay and the ferry dock area. It's nice to have a swimming pool on the property for a quick afternoon swim. The house is private and the neighborhood is quiet. I'd rent this house again.

Awesome Location in Cruz Bay
Just got back from trip to St. John. The place was very clean, big, and a HUGE balcony with fantastic views of Cruz Bay. The unit had ample towels, beach chairs, coolers and kitchen was fully stocked with what you'll need. Comfortably sleeps four adults. Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with outdoor (and indoor) showers!!! The location is ideal -- a very short drive/walk from Cruz Bay. Albeit quite the hill to walk up, but you can do it. The road was a little messy in spots, but post-storm I'm sure it will keep improving. Parking is on a flat surface and only a short set of stairs to the unit. For those of you that have been to StJ before will understand that a flat parking spot is very nice to have. Very quiet and relaxing! Wish I was still there. Colleen

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay. Villa Amerigo is very spacious and allowed our family to really relax and spread out. The views are stunning with rainbows every morning after early island showers directly in front of us. Two very spacious rooms with comfortable king beds and adjoining bathrooms.Each room has a tv and DVD player but we never turned the tv’s on. Wi-Fi was great. No problems at any time. As if that’s not enough each bathroom has two showers, one inside and one outside. I don’t think we used our inside showers.
The kitchen had everything we needed and more. For our trips to the beach there were 4 beach chairs and 5 beach towels and two coolers.
You definitely need a car. Very steep and bumpy road leading to house. We walked down and back up our first day and we did not attempt it again. Down is easier but a cab ride up is recommended. It was very close to town which was great.
The only thing that I would recommend that needs to be added to Billa Amerigo is that the stairs and walkway to the front door are super slippery when wet which is most of the time because of the intermittent showers. My son slipped once and I had a pretty good fall my last night there. Some kind of skid treads or outdoor carpet patches are definitely needed. Do not let this deter you from Villa Amerigo. You will not regret any moment of your stay. If all this is not enticing enough let’s not forget the pool. I will definitely return here should it be available. Thanks for making our first stay on St. John a memorable one.

Absolutely breathtaking!
We loved your home! The views are the best I’ve seen on the island. It is so peaceful being on the mountain top! As for the inside, the kitchen has everything you need and is very nice, each room has is a master suite with a king bed, bathroom and did I mention the outdoor showers for each full bath, so cool! I would not deduct any points for this but the hill to get up here is quite the hike up. Down is no problem but coming up is a workout(definitely doable but really like a hike as you will likely break a sweat. On the positive, you work off some of the food and drinks! Or just grab Merv or Marvin(local taxi drivers who were awesome!). We will definitely be back. Oh yeah, loved the outdoor pool as well. So relaxing and we had it all to ourselves. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!!

Great place not too far from town
Great place, gorgeous view. Had a wonderful stay. Tara was attentive to a few things which we needed throughout our stay. It is a short distance to the town, but you need a car as the hill is very steep. Internet is extremely spotty which was my only struggle. Otherwise great place and would stay again!
