About this house rental

Spacious two bedroom two bath apartment less then a half block from Overton Square. Walking distance to Overton Park and the Memphis Zoo. Convenient to downtown and all the Memphis attractions. All the comforts of home.

The space
With almost 1500 sq/ft this midtown apartment offers plenty of room to spread out. Living room features a sofa, love seat and chair plus an ottoman. Sofa turns into a full size bed. Dining room has a table that can accommodate six plus a table that could double as a work space. Updated kitchen with granite countertops and brand new appliances. Both bedrooms feature a queen size bed and ample storage. The master has its own brand new private bath. Lovely front porch to enjoy coffee in the mornings. Back yard features a gas grill and camping chairs.

Guest access
You will have access to the entire home plus front porch and back yard. I have provided plenty of towels, shampoos and soaps. Kitchen comes stocked with pots and pans and utensils for your convenience. Laundry room is off the kitchen with detergent provided.

Great place with old house charm. Beds are extremely comfortable! Host is super responsive. Place is a block away from tons of restaurants, shops and music.

OVERALL Our stay was wonderful. The location of this rental is ideal for touring the Memphis and surrounding area. That said, we were so disappointed to learn that we did NOT rent the ENTIRE HOME as was our intention based on the listing that states ‘entire home’ (this property showed up on our search that includes only houses and excludes apartments). It should be know there are 2 full time tenants upstairs. One of them works a job which involves waking at 6:30 am and walking on the hardwood floors above the bedrooms (running the drying to freshen their scrubs). They use interior stairs to access the upper level; when they run these stairs, 2 people can quickly sound like 4. Also, they use the driveway, just FYI. When I alerted Kirk to these discrepancies, he said he’d clarify the listing right away, I trust he’ll get to that soon. CHECK IN & CLEANLINESS A welcome text the afternoon of our arrival day said the house would be ready at 4 PM. When we arrived at 4 we were greeted at the door by the cleaner who told us she would be done in a few minutes. We were eventually handed the keys at 5:40 PM. Not sure what she did during that time, but I’m positive it was not the floors. I provided the owner a list of items that need to be fixed such as shower heads, water fixtures, burnt out lights, broken blind rods, bedroom & bathroom doors that wouldn’t shut, and filthy floors (substitute cleaner, he said) Kirk seemed genuine about fixing it all. Have fun, ya’ll!

Spacious, recently renovated, safe and in walking distance to everything! Kirk the host very nice and responsive. This beautiful place suffers from age and moisture that makes it hard on asthma/allergies. Host committed to addressing this issue

You could make a vacation of just staying in Overton Square. You can uber anywhere in Memphis area in about fifteen minutes. This property was utterly fantastic.

We were a bit nervous about staying in Memphis with some feedback about high crime rate there. Once we got to our VRBO we quickly realized we were in a safe residential area, the house is old with a lot of character, though old the kitchen was up to date and the bedrooms, bathrooms, beds were all very good. Our host was great as we asked for some changes in our booking, and he was very accommodating and helpful. We also found Biel Street and Main Street very interesting and a lot of fun and felt comfortable there during our visits downtown. Our downtown food tour that we booked was great.

Convenient location. Very clean. Although the furnishings were not deluxe, everything worked well and made the space very useful. The owner was thoughtful and generous with supplies/extras. Would definitely stay here again.

big apartment with character - clean and well equiped 10-15min to Beale street by car share but never had to wait long. very close to Overton sq and the bars/resteraunts available there. highly recommend

This is a a fantastic place both for the house and neighborhood! We would definitely do it again if ever in that area again The bonus is that you do NOTHING on checking out! Fantastic place to stay!

Kirks property was very excellent for a trip to Memphis. Great area, never rented a car, used Lyft the whole time. Never really felt I needed a car. House is in a very nice area. Easy walk to restaurants etc Walk to the zoo. Very very easy, check-in and checkout. Provided with water, coffee and a nice cold six pack of beer. Nice porch. The property was very big and clean. I would definitely stay there again when I go to Memphis. Checking in, and out was so easy. Pretty perfect

We had the best time!!! Perfect location, close to all the great attractions that’s Memphis has to offer. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Host was amazing with very prompt responses to any questions we had. Loved the thoughtfulness of having the guides to Memphis, these were super helpful when deciding where to eat! Kirk's property was totally IMMACULATE. This is a carefully updated property with some wonderful appeal. Charm has been maintained with original glass/French doors, columned architecture, crown molding. ALL appliances worked exceptionally well. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and linens. OUTSTANDING location for walking to restaurants, strolling city streets or shopping. Nearby grocery store, bakery and drugstores huge plusses! Would definitely book here again!

Check in was easy. Keys are a little tricky to figure out in the dark, but once we got that we were golden. House has so much character. Very comfy and instantly felt at home. Comfort measures very well thought out. Beds were super comfortable. Plenty of room for playing cards or just hanging out. Location was perfect. Nice, quiet neighborhood and still close to everything we wanted to do. Happening night life just a few blocks away too. Only “complaint” was the heat was super hot in some rooms (like the kitchen and bathroom) and cold in others. Totally understandable in a historic home, but made cooking less than enjoyable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake with though. We will definitely be back!
