When you don't need a large home for rent in Paso Robles, consider a tucked away apartment instead. Huston's Attic is a remodeled upstairs apartment with separate entrance, above the Historic Huston House, built in 1894. Located in the heart of the Historic Vine Street district of Paso Robles, just a brief walk down the street will expose you to many historic structures from the early days. It is just one block from the scenic downtown of Paso Robles where you can enjoy dining, entertainment and unique shopping boutiques, or just a quiet walk through the park. You can pick up some fresh local farm goods and items from the Farmers Market in the park on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. This property is a one bedroom/one bath master suite with a walk-in closet and queen-size bed. It has living room with TV and is set up for internet service. There is a nice little kitchen area with new appliances, and a stacked washer & dryer in the apartment. We have supplied it with extra bedding and cooking needs for extended stays. Beautiful and comfortable in an exquisite downtown location. Keyed entry. My husband and I stayed here three nights for our 20th wedding anniversary. Bruce greeted us upon arrival and gave us all of the information we needed. Huston's Attic was like staying in our own very nice apartment. We loved that it was in walking distance to tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. The place was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with lots of pots, pans, utensils, spices and coffee. There was a BBQ out back but we didn't have time to use it. We will definitely try to stay here when we visit Paso Robles next time.

We loved Huston's Attic. It was so close to downtown Paso and an easy drive to all the wineries on our list. We were able to walk to dinner every night after a day of wine tasting. It was clean and had so many supplies - all the paper products you could need, soaps, coffee, etc. There was even a gallon of water that we used for the coffee. The owner was super friendly and met us at the agreed upon time. We would definitely recommend - you will not regret it! Only note is that it is upstairs (thus the name - attic) so there are quite a few stairs and taller individuals may bump their heads on the slanted ceiling. But we had no problems.Check out Il Cortile, the Hatch, and Buono Tavola for dinner. We also enjoyed the experience and drinks at 1122 Cocktail Lounge.

Ok so first off literal blocks to downtown. You’re close enough to walk, far enough to not deal with the traffic or mess or people (aka noise). Also, driving distance is 10 minutes to wineries like Penman Springs, etc. Lyfts were also super easy to catch - my little sister went to dinner with us and then I sent her in a Lyft back to SLO. Lyft was there within a minute.
The place was spotless but SO homey and probably the best stocked vrbo I’ve stayed at. I slept really well and where the bed is, the sun doesn’t get to or the shades were dim enough so it stayed dark to sleep in. The bed is also very comfortable! They have basic cable so our son was able to watch cartoons in the AM and we were able to binge some Lifetime movies in the evening. Doordash also delivered quickly when we got in late on Friday.
Also the backyard is so well kept. We had breakfast at the small table while our son ran around in the yard.
Ample space - we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Just a fyi, there’s no door to the bedroom but it’s plenty far (likely 15 yards) from the living room where if your child or significant other was asleep in the room they wouldn’t hear anything.
Seriously theee cutest place I’ve stayed at. This place makes me want to visit Paso more just to be hosted here! Hosts were very welcoming and flexible with arrival time - we didn’t have a set time since we were driving in.

The attic is spacious and comfortable. No one lives downstairs, so it's quiet too. It is close to downtown with many restaurant choices only minutes away. It has everything you need plus a few extras. The owner is very accommodating and easy to reach. As long as stairs are not an issue for you, it is a perfect hideaway.

It's rare to find a location that allows you to walk to almost everything you would want to walk to in downtown Paso Robles. Most hotels are not near downtown, and are 2x or 3x the cost. Plus, this was very cute, clean, and practical. The only downside is that it is on the top level of a victorian house, so some of the ceilings are angled to low levels. If you're tall, be careful!

The appartment was equipped with everything we could possibly need for our 2 night stay even with bottled water and coffee supplies! The location could not have been more convenient being a short 5 minute walk into the restaurant/shopping area of Paso! if you are tall, this place will be a little difficult as the ceilings in some areas are low, it is the attic of the house that they have turned into a super charming living space.
Walking back to the house at night the streets are dark, that’s not their fault just something to mention. It didn’t bother us but may others.
