MAUI FIRE UPDATE: Papakea Resort services (electricity, water, cable, internet) are fully operational. All recreational areas are open and returned to regular operations. Maui is OPEN and welcomes respectful, caring, and compassionate tourism.
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
This 2 bedroom (sleeps 6+baby), 1 and a half bath, top floor corner condo with Tri-Zone AC (AC in every room!) has a fantastic view of the Ocean, the island of Molokai, and the mountain! In 2022 we replaced the washer and dryer and the lanai furniture. In 2019 we replaced all the windows, curtains, and the wall of glass/lanai doors. We also upgraded our AC units. 2018 we installed all new kitchen appliances. 2017 we renovated the living room furniture - including an upgraded memory foam sofa-sleeper, lanai with seating for 6, and loft with both a queen and twin bed. In 2015 we purchased a new Sealy Posturepedic firm pillow top Cal-King mattress to go with the totally upgraded master bedroom furniture! A great night's sleep awaits you!
Since we have a young family, we have equipped this as a Family Friendly 'Home away from Home.' We are stocked for you and your kiddos!
Come and relax knowing you have all the things you need waiting for you to make travel with children (both small and big) easier. For the little ones we have everything you need and MORE including 2 playpens (with infant mattress pads), changing pad, a baby monitor, a stroller, a booster seat, 2 high chairs, a baby bathtub, Jolly Jumper, a bouncer, baby gates, baby to big kid dishes, toys for both indoors and out, board games, etc. For the older kids, we have boogies boards, skimboards, snorkel sets & life jackets of various sizes, and floaties. For the adults, we have the view you want, the amenities you want, and a well-stocked condo that you need! Our kitchen is totally stocked for cooking. You will find everything you need and more to be able to cook a full meal for your family. SHORT TERM RENTAL AGREEMENT
This rental agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by the guest (“Guest” or “you” or “yours”) and Darcy and Loretta Mykytyshyn (“Owners”).
Property
The property is located at 3543 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, HI 96761. This agreement is for the rental of Unit D407.
Guests
This agreement is between the Owner and “Guest(s)”. The State of Hawaii allows a maximum of three people in a studio, four people in a one-bedroom, six people in a two-bedroom, and eight people in a three-bedroom.
Term of Lease
The lease begins at 3 p.m on the “Check-In Date” and ends at 11 a.m. on the “Check Out Date”. No late check-outs. If you are in the room after check-out time there will be a charge equal to one night’s rent plus tax. If you have a late flight out of Maui we strongly recommend that you book the condo for 1 extra day so you can fully enjoy your last day and have the condo until you need to leave for the airport.
Deposit Policy & Cancellation
50% of the Total Rental shall be payable to secure the reservation, with the balance of the Total Rental due approximately 30 days prior to your arrival date.
Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a 100% refund. All monies are forfeited if canceled less than 60 days prior to the arrival date UNLESS the unit is re-rented. If re-rented monies are refunded. All reservations canceled after receipt of deposit, are subject to a $75.00 cancellation fee.
House Rules
This reservation is for quiet residential vacation accommodations only. Therefore, parties, receptions, luaus, events, and gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. No additional people beyond the maximum occupancy of the condo are allowed on the rental property at any one time. Absolutely no smoking.
Keys/Lockout Policy
Your check-in instructions with a key release request form will be provided to you prior to your arrival. It is your responsibility to bring this information with you.
Access
Guest shall allow Owner, or Owner’s Agent, access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. The owner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.
Lost and Found Items
We are not responsible for lost items. A $20.00 handling fee, plus postage, will be assessed for all lost & found items that have been recovered and returned to the guest.
Damage/Loss/Disturbance Policy
The unit is individually owned and decorated. Please do not remove any furnishings, equipment, or items from the unit, including linen, dishes, or any other items from the unit. Guest will be solely liable for any additional costs, charges, or expenses resulting from any damage, lost or stolen items, or excessive check-out cleaning. The owner of the unit will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. The Owner uses its best efforts to ensure that all equipment within the unit is in good working order, although the Owner does not guarantee that any equipment will not break down during your stay, and therefore such a breakdown does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustments for any such mechanical failure. In the event of a breakdown, the Owner will use its best efforts to remedy the situation as soon as possible after notification of the breakdown. Guest understands that there is no guarantee that properties adjacent to the unit will be free from disturbances, including but not limited to noise or inconvenience from construction, traffic, or other guests or neighbors, and any such disturbance shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment. Guest also understands that Hawaii is located in a tropical climate and that insects, rodents, and lizards flourish in this environment. Although Owners use best efforts to hold to a minimum your interaction with these pests during your stay, the Guest understands that any contact by the Guest with such a pest within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give the Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment. Any issue that the Guest has with the unit shall be immediately reported to the Owner via the phone number listed here at 403.358.4279 or 403.896.6922 or 403.391.3356. The guest understands that the Owner shall have a reasonable amount of time to restore the rental to acceptable conditions and that any issues presented to the Owner by the Guest after check-out can not be remedied and shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give the Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.
NO SMOKING
The Hawaii legislature enacted State Law 295, effective November 16, 2006, which prohibits smoking in all enclosed or partially enclosed areas open to the public. Violations will result in fines.
Miscellaneous
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Any dispute regarding performance or interpretation of this Agreement shall be held resolved by arbitration in accordance with Hawaii law before a single arbitrator in accordance with the prevailing commercial arbitration rules of Dispute Prevention Resolution, Inc. with the arbitration proceeding to be situated on the island of Maui; provided, however, that the arbitrator shall limit the proceedings in its discretion according to the economic nature of the dispute and that Owner may maintain an action in a court of competent jurisdiction in Hawaii with respect to any eviction or collection matter relating to this Agreement and for any injunctive relief required by Owner. The prevailing party in any such dispute shall be entitled, in addition to damages, to reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs. If any portion of this Agreement shall be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall in no way affect the validity or enforceability of any other portion hereof. Any and all claims by Guest against Owner for costs, expenses, or damages of any nature shall be limited to the rental amount of Guest’s stay, and Guest shall not be entitled to any consequential damages of any sort. Any unauthorized stay-over in the Unit will entitle Owner to two times the rental amount, in addition to any other damages incurred by Owner.
The Guest is responsible for any damages to the property and will be charged for the repair of those damages.

We loved the view of the ocean from the top floor and this was a great West Maui home base for all our family adventures. Especially fun to see the whales this time of year. One note, limited direct beach access from the property but other great beaches very close with easy access.

A great location and a great place. We had mom & dad and 3 grown kids join us. We were comfortable.
Lots of things provided: Beach chairs, snorkel equipment, beach towels, boogie boards, play pen for baby, bouncer for baby.
I also love to cook and I did not run into anything that the kitchen did not have. Owner also provides kiddie cups and utensils.
A good view of the entire courtyard out to the ocean.

The property was nicely maintained and a wonderful location. There was a beach about a 5 minute walk away, two nice pools and large hot tubs on the property. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. Highly recommend!

Our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 teens/young adults) enjoyed our stay in this condo. The owners had the unit stocked with everything you may need to accommodate your stay in paradise. Many items thoughtfully included for those traveling with toddlers.
The AC logistics is unique but it had working AC which is a huge plus.
The condo was comfortably furnished and the ottoman beds were perfect to offer separate sleeping arrangements.
Papakea resort is the best we have stayed, the grounds are amazing and the view is spectacular. Great amenities and super friendly staff.
Overall a truly enjoyable stay. Would definitely consider again.

The view was great, the location is central to some great snorkeling beaches. Lots of space for my family. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony looking at the garden and ocean views. In the evenings, we walked to the sea wall, laid on the lounge chairs and watched the sunset, later we looked at the stars and finished the day with a peaceful dip in the pool& hot tub before bed. Quiet area, condo was great for a good sleep!

Overall had a good time during our trip. Our 2 year old daughter had fun time playing in the beach (small waves helped her get comfortable) which is like 3 minutes walk from apartment.
Just one downside, every time you wish to turn on the A/C you have to turn the timer in all rooms. Also the instruction in the manual can mention that the "mechanical" timer needs to be twisted. (A/C unit has an inbuilt electronic timer and there is a mechanical timer near the unit in each room)

As stated, location, landscape and view from patio was excellent. Location for us was just what we wanted. Few quirks were solved within a couple of days. The owners were not aware that the keurig coffee, pull out couch, single pullout, sliding door screen, dining table chairs were in need of repair. Due to these problems there was a refund which was appreciated. Just a bummer to deal with this while on vacation and many family outings for a wedding already planned. The elevator is a plus and parking is available but tight space. If you have a baby it’s stocked well. I’m sure the owner has taken care of the problems we encountered. Would stay again!

The resort is beautiful and we loved being able to see whales from the balcony! As mentioned in other reviews, the upstairs bathroom doesn’t have a door and there were some small ants in the kitchen, but this is Hawaii after all and they pretty much went away after we put our food away in the fridge. The location is great and within walking distance of grocery stores, food trucks and the beach. We had a great time!

We rented this property for my husband and I and our son and his wife and our daughter. The beds were all very comfortable, although it has a loft upstairs that is open and has a toilet that has no door. Not ideal for older adult children, better for younger, I would say. we love the property, and the proximity to lots of great beaches that you can walk to. We also enjoy playing pickle ball every day, and there are tennis courts as well.

Our stay here was really nice. The property and pool areas are very clean. The condo was nice, needs some renovations, but overall clean and comfortable. King and Queen beds are very comfortable, the sofa sleeper mattress is decent, but the rest of it is old and needs to be replaced. The view from the patio/deck is gorgeous! There are not any true beaches in front of the property, but you can walk a short distance to small sandy beaches. Really nice to have beach chairs to use, and some snorkel equipment. The washer/dryer are very small, great for small quick loads, not for larger loads. The one bummer is the ant problem in the kitchen. They are tiny little ants, but you cannot leave any food out, at all. We had to keep all of our snack foods on the table, and didn't even serve food from the counter. We made it work, but it was definitely a bit of a pain. Overall beautiful complex and nice location (walking distance to grocery, ABC Store & a few restaurants).

Papaeka D-407 was just want our family needed; especially after waiting an extra ~1,000 days due to the pandemic. This condo was a perfect for us in every way (e.g. size, location, comfortable beds, beach supplies, etc.). The property owners were quick to answer any question before and during our stay. The Papakea Resort was very well kept and had lots of fun activities to enjoy! Thank you Loretta and Darcy!

We had a wonderful stay! The condo was equipped with everything we needed to make our stay special. Great location and walking distance to so much! We went to the Fish Market a few times and loved their fresh seafood(fish burrito was the best). The ABC store was super convenient, only a few steps away. Beautiful beach was a VERY short walk and the sunsets were AMAZING! My Mom and Sister and family also had condos at Papakea and their condos were great as well. We loved the property, lots of palm trees and pretty plants. We miss Hawaii and out condo already! We will be back!

We had a wonderful time in Maui. This property was great - it had all of the necessary items for fun times at the beach. The kitchen was also fully equipped with everything we needed. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The grounds and the view from our lanai were wonderful!

Tight space with a nice view
Nice property grounds. The space was tight for more than 2 adults…1 shower and upstairs toilet without a door were low points. Seating in the living room is limited to a small couch and dining table. There is a warning about ants in the kitchen and we found them climbing up walls and in the upstairs bathroom as well. The kitchen was not usable because of the ants. As soon as any food is out they swarm. We stayed at a ground le level property prior to this and Hilda no issues with bugs. Now the good part…the view is beautiful and there are a lot of beach toys available for kids. There is an ABC store (right out the back gate) and nightly food trucks very nearby. There is a great kid friendly beach about 3 miles north of the property.

Great for families.
We had a wonderful stay with our family. Lots to do and the outdoor gardens and pool are beautifully maintained. Plenty of BBQ grills available for our evening meals. The condo had everything we needed for our 20 month old and 6 year old grandsons.
The nearby baby beach and park are a 5 minute walk. A great place for families.

We had never been to Hawaii so we tried 3 locations and 2 islands. We had a great time and really appreciated all the items the condo had! We needed extra help with air conditioning (our own fault!!!!) And owner was soooo fabulous and helpful figuring it all out with us! We had a great time!!!

Amazing Condo
This Condo was amazing. Perfect for a family. We traveled with 6 and there was plenty of room.
The Condo was well stocked for all of our needs.
Beds were super comfortable, grounds are amazing, and lots of activities included with your stay. My children loved playing tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard, and mini golf! You can also book excursions with the concierge.
The oceanfront views are amazing and location was close to grocery shopping, food trucks, and many activities.
The only thing missing was a 2nd full bath, which was clearly stated in the listing (2nd bath does not have a shower). Hopefully the owner will consider adding this in the future.

Lovely Stay with small children
We enjoyed the top corner unit, and felt very accessible for our families needs. It was wonderful to have all of the supplies already there for us to use. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay
The unit had all (and more!) that we needed for our stay on Maui. Having coffee on the lanai looking over the property and ocean was a great way to start the day. The instructions for the unit are very clear and detailed.
The owners were very responsive to any inquiires and took care of a minor problem we had. Papakea is an older condo, but is well-kept. I highly recommend this condo.

Relaxing Respite
Everything was as it appeared in the listing. The view from the lanai was just gorgeous. Everything worked, everything was tidy, condo was well-stocked. Beautiful condominium, beautiful positioning within the community and wonderful hosts.

Perfect vacation
This property was perfect for our family vacation. The unit was well equipped with the necessary kitchen and beach items, the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was great (although minimally needed). The view from the balcony was amazing, the pool was lovely, the grounds are beautifully maintained and the location was excellent. Many of our excursions were within a fifteen minute drive. It was great to be directly beside an ABC store and within walking distance to a grocery store/strip mall/food trucks. We also enjoyed snorkeling a short walk down the road. We hope to be back someday!!

Issue at check in but great place
I almost fainted when I arrived and they said I didn’t have a reservation. They ended up calling the owner and they squared everything away. The unit is great and everything they advertised is exact if not better. Would stay there again.
