About this house rental
The Donald Ross Trail is a gorgeous five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home, located in the Homestead Preserve's Sheep Meadow neighborhood, and is less than a mile from The Homestead Resort. Sleeping ten, this stately brick home provides all the comforts of home and then some.
Get a good night’s rest in one of the four king-sized beds or opt for one of the two twins. Each bedroom has access to a private bath, as well as a covered porch. Gather in the living room for a family movie night and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace. Cooking is not a problem in the gourmet kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and a spacious island for food prep and mealtime. Dine as a group at the eight-person dining table and then head to the back porch to kick back and enjoy the quiet seclusion of your Hot Springs vacation.
The basement is complete with a flat-screen television, a wet bar, pool table, foosball table, and an integrated sound system that allows music to be played throughout the entire house. The Donald Ross Trail includes Wi-Fi, and we encourage you to bring your four-legged friend, as pets are accommodated for an $100 additional fee.
Guests also have access to the Old Dairy Community Center about 10 minutes away which offers a seasonal, outdoor pool, large indoor hot tub, game room and fitness center. **Please be advised that Old Dairy access is limited due to COVID-19, and will not be available if there is an event.**

The house was well appointed and very comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Only a 5 minute drive to The Homestead and all the amenities. Will definitely come back.

We thoroughly loved our time in this beautiful home. Everything looked just like it did in the pictures and we even got an early check-in. We loved how close it was to the Homestead and that we could bring our dog. The house is made for entertaining and is set up perfectly. We will definitely be back

The property itself was amazing. The rooms were clean and nice sizes for our girls weekend getaway. There were 7 of us in our mid 40’s.
Pros: Welcome boxes of toiletries.
Every bathroom with shower had a welcome box with trial size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The boxes were sealed and we thought that was a nice touch.
Cleanliness: Everything was clean!
Spacious: Large, open Kitchen and living room to hang out.
Cons:
1.) The master bedroom had hot water, but some complained that they did not have any hot water one evening to shower.
2.) The beds are spring beds and we recommend foam mattress toppers. I woke up really sore in the mornings.
3.) The doors and window locks.
The window latches made it impossible to close. They were stuck open and we felt uneasy about that. They need to be fixed. The doors also (one in the parlor) was broken and took forever to close. You have to lift the handle up, but the entire fixture was loose, making it really difficult to lock properly. We felt uneasy at night about that.

Beautiful house and property. We were looking forward to a ski weekend, but the weather didn’t cooperate, however that did not inhibit our stay. The house has everything one needs, well stocked kitchen, lots of big rooms, large open family spaces and a game room for the children. There were 8 adults and 3 children under 8. Highly recommend this property.

We had an incredible stay over New Year's! The house was amazing -- from the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and kitchen, to the incredible basement / game room -- we couldn't have been happier with our stay! An added bonus was that the property was a short walk to the Homestead resort and a number of hiking trails. Also, the folks at Natural Retreats were very helpful and accessible throughout. Looking forward to booking again in the future!

Six friends from just outside of Richmond Virginia decided to come up and play golf at the Homestead resort. Found this spectacular house which was perfect for us!Only upgrade we would recommend is to the satellite TV package for sports watching capabilities and to the TV in the basement.

AMAZING HOME!
We celebrated my mother's 70th birthday weekend in this gorgeous home. The property managers were FANTASTIC and the home and community are nothing short of amazing. We loved the commercial grade appliances and made a wonderful dinner while there! Everything was perfectly clean and ensuite bathrooms were all so very tastefully done. The master bedroom shower was as big as a small bedroom! We will definitely return!

4 adults, 6 kids aged between 4-14yrs and 2 dogs. Had a wonderful break here, the house is spacious and very comfortable, the basement games room was fantastic too! Stacey was great and checked in on us by text and called when there might have been a water problem in the area and even dropped off 2 cases of bottled water just in case we needed them! Would highly recommend this property, in a fabulous location close too both the Old Dairy and the Omni Homestead for activities to keep the kids busy. Would definitely recommend.

Great house in a great place
Our family stayed here over the holidays to find peace, quiet and time to enjoy one another. The house was a perfect setting for that to happen. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up hearty meals. There are a ton of hiking trails in the area to get up a big appetite. There are 2 bar areas in the house...one on the main floor and one in the basement area. The fireplaces on each floor were terrific. The beds were very comfortable and with a full bath in each room, everyone had their privacy! All round great trip!

Beautiful home in peaceful setting
We stayed in this home over New Year and really enjoyed the home and the setting. The home is adjacent to the Homestead Resort and we were able to go skiing and enjoy the resort amenities during our stay. We will definitely be back.

Holidays with Family
The Donald Ross House was perfect for a family gathering. The property manager was helpful and always available to answer questions. The house is well designed with plenty of room to gather in the dining room, family room, pool/foosball room or on the the porches.

Christmas getaway
Our family visited the weekend before Christmas. The house accommodated our family of four couples and four children very well. We enjoyed visiting the Homestead resort for ice skating and photos. The Waterwheel restaurant in Warm Springs was amazing. I highly recommend the house. We enjoyed the pool table and foos ball table. Only complaint was slow internet speed.

Gorgeous house
Perfect for multiple couples or large family! All of the bedrooms were nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, and had really nice full bathrooms attached. Separate hang out rooms and a gourmet kitchen that opens up to living room and sitting room. We will definitely be coming back

Excellent holiday vacation
We had a wonderful time and found the home to be a perfect place to celebrate Christmas with our four children! The home was immaculate & the special touches such as the goodie basket, the Christmas music playing on the speakers & the lights turned on upon our arrival were so appreciated. The children loved the game tables downstairs & many fun family memories were made. Tiffany was excellent to work with and made our stay so nice. We will definitely return to this property again and look so forward to it!

Beautiful and secluded yet very close to the Omni.
We had a wonderful experience!
The hospitality team was very friendly and pro active. They cleared the driveway of snow, salted the paths and cleared the road before we had even finished breakfast.
The house was beautiful with excellent amenities , spacious and perfect for entertaining a large group. We will definitely be back!

Amazing Thanksgiving for 10
My family (8 adults, 2 toddlers, and 1 small dog) thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay at this property. One toddler had his own room and a walk-in closet with a window and vent served as a mini bedroom for the other toddler. Every couple had their own sizeable room with en suite bathroom. The basement entertainment suite was amazing--bar, pool table, foozball table, sofa, fireplace and multiple TV's. The gourmet kitchen was perfect for storing and preparing food for 10 for Thanksgiving and 4 days isolated in the mountains. The Homestead was a quick walk or drive away. We enjoyed taking the little ones to see the Christmas decorations and visit Santa. I left 4 bottles of wine in the house by accident and Natural Retreats made sure they were returned to me. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. We hope to be back soon, but we will probably need a bigger house next time with new additions arriving in 2018!!

Extraordinary Home and Management Company
We just got back from a weekend at this home. It is an extraordinary home in every way and was impeccably clean. Everything you need is there, even flash lights and a first aid kit. We were amazed and grateful that they allow pets, even providing dog towels and a dog dish in case you forget yours. It is on the corner of a cul de sac but all the other lots are empty at this point. So it feels very secluded, yet the Homestead Resort is a stones throw away. We arrived at night and it was a challenge to find in the dark, but when we finally got there, it was all lit up for us with music playing inside. What a nice welcome! The home is equipped with top notch everything. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back! The staff at Natural Retreats was outstanding from the booking process to check-out. They actually provide a manager’s name and cell phone number to call with any questions, etc. The most amazing thing is that they respond to your texts almost instantaneously. They were awesome! Thank you for sharing this gorgeous, pristine home!
