We managed to gather our grown kids together for a weekend getaway, fell in love with pics and description and were not disappointed. Exactly as described with the bonus of fast ferry to Seattle a quick 10 min away this was perfect for us.

We were very impressed with the responsiveness and thoughtfulness of the manager and quality of the home. The home is charming with beautiful furnishings and art (nice eye candy). The kitchen is nicely stocked with spices and all the dishes/cookware you need. The views are amazing, location excellent to restaurants and shopping. We definitely recommend this property!

Rod’s cottage on the bay was perfect for a weekend getaway. We loved sipping coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening in the backyard, enjoying the view. Thank you for sharing your home, Rod.

This home was spectacular. The host met us upon arrival to explain the various features of this 1937 vintage home. Remarkable decor with lots to see. The backyard overlooks an inlet and is framed by towering pines and cedars. Great place to relax... but close to grocery shopping, Bremerton (don't miss the foot ferry to Port Orchard) and we made the easy trip to Tacoma for the Glass Museum. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Just as picturesque as the photos in the listing. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the gorgeous views. Grill was clean and in perfect working order. Kayaks to paddle around in the calm bay and fireworks reflecting off of the water on the 4th of July were unforgettable!
Well-stocked kitchen and comfortable beds/bedding. Plenty of towels and other necessities were provided. The washer and dryer came in very handy as did the provided laundry soap. We wanted for nothing.
Rod was communicative and super accommodating. He gave us tips on enjoying the house, finding groceries, and pointing out local restaurants and things to do in the area.
The Pearl on Oyster Bay was a perfect location for our family to explore Puget Sound. We also took a day trip to Seattle as well as visited Olympic National Park and Mt. Rainier.
Loved our stay!

This property is truly beautiful and offers all the privacy I was looking for in a vacation rental! Rod was very communicative throughout my stay, kind and so considerate of me and my pet’s needs. I hope to visit again sometime soon.

Our family enjoyed staying at Oyster Bay Manor. We enjoyed the kayaks and outdoor gathering spaces especially.

Beautiful waterfront home
This was a wonderful experience for our family. The perfect place to escape from the Arizona heat for a few weeks this July. Rod was amazing to work with and the property is top notch. Super clean, wonderful water access, comfortable bedding, lovely kitchen etc. I have nothing but good things to say!

Thank you Rod for greeting my upon arrival. It was so kind when you noticed I was by myself and made sure that I felt safe being alone. Took time to show me how to work everything. Toured the outside and inside. Your home was so beautiful and warming. I didn’t want to leave. I will be coming back in the future. I recommend this for everyone I was able to swim and enjoy the 90 degree weather and read my book and enjoy the view on a rainy day. The view location was breathtaking. Thank you for opening your home

Five star property
Our family owned this beautiful home for nearly 50 years before passing it on to Rod 14 years ago. My two sisters and I were thrilled to find it on VRBO. Our stay was magical. It smelled so clean, dust-free, with wood and glass gleaming. The updates are beautiful improvements, lovingly restored. The beautiful view and beach trail hasn’t changed. We sisters, now in our 70’s, slept in our old bedrooms, giggling as if we were school children. The beds were dressed as European soft fluffy pristine white feather duvets, so deliciously comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for a family picnic when the grandchildren came over for an afternoon. We are so grateful to have had this special time gathered around the kitchen table, having meals on the deck, and reminiscing in the beautiful living room. Thank you Rod.

Convenient, Comfortable, and Memorable
One can tell that host Rod takes care of this gem tucked in Oyster Bay. It was a great fit for our family —- 4 generations — 10 months to 82 years. The house has personality that welcomed us home after day trips to Gig Harbor, Bainbridge Island, Port Townsend, and Seattle. Outside areas provided for sunrise coffee moments, relaxing kayaking, and evening reminiscings. 5 Stars ⭐️

Rod was super in every way, making sure our christmass stay was complete. Rod even put up a Christmas tree for us to enjoy. Oh he made it snow too. I and my family thank you for doing everything possible in making our holiday stay memorable. Tom

We booked this trip in advance and unaware of the debilitating heat wave that hit. At first glance, all seemed nice. The house is cute with a lovely view. It is not, however; a great place for kids due to the glass doors at the bottom of the steep staircase, the overgrown trail to the small beach (tide affects the size of the beach), the glass kitchen table, the numerous tchotchkes in the house that limit the space, and lack of games at the house.
What bothered us the most, though, was that the owner did not reach out about the heat wave and how it would affect us in this home without air condition. The second floor had two old fans, and we located a third that we moved around the house. The basement was musty and damp. The owner did reimburse us for two days, but the lack of forethought in discussing what would affect our trip, was disappointing.

Perfect spot for the 5 of us. Plenty of room to be together and plenty of room to be alone when needed.

The view from the large picture window of Oyster Bay is spectacular. Exploring the unique architectural features of the whole house was lots of fun. Our only concern was getting to/ from the drive way & the busy street.

The highlight of our stay was the private beach and calm bay for kayaking. We rented a two person kayak and the house provided two single kayaks and went on the bay everyday. My youngest and I stayed on the beach and he spent hours looking at tiny crabs. The driveway is on a busy road, so turning into the driveway was tricky. But once you are at the house it is very wooded and doesn’t feel busy. There is an amazing bakery Saboteur within a short drive and we got takeout from other restaurants too (DoorDash delivers). It was a hot few days, so the bedrooms upstairs were quite warm even at night, but the bed and couches in the basement worked well.

Loved Kayaking around Oyster Bay. Great base to explore Poulsbo (Brass Kraken and Poulsbo Woodfired Pizza were both excellent!) and downtown Bremerton (highly recommend Amy's Decadent Chocolates, and the ice cream at Scoops and Bites was delicious!). Comfortable and clean. There was some road construction while we were there, but even so, the property was quiet and peaceful. Lots of cool 1937 details made the house very unique.

So peaceful and yet convenient. I could live there! Rod was wonderful.

The property is well maintained and modernized (ex. great wifi) while still maintaining old-world charm. The beach access with kayaks was a huge hit with our teenager. Bremerton allowed access to family in the Tacoma area as well as Olympic National Park and whale watching from Port Townsend. The fast ferry to Seattle was an easy and fun way into Seattle. The house itself was as described and the setting was private and even better than expected. It's very clean with all the things you need for self-catering, etc. The host was very flexible and helpful. The house has a friendly air about it with easy and casual check-in and check-out processes.

My family and I flew in for a weekend get together after a year apart, and boy was this house just absolutely perfect. Rod was an incredible host- he met us and had the house all cozy for us when we arrived, was a text away for any questions we might have throughout the stay, although we did not have any as he has clearly thought through and anticipated anything that might come up! The house is just a gem- so cozy and that view!!! We enjoyed playing in the side yard with the little ones as well as exploring the bay on the kayaks. We just had an absolute ball at Rod’s place and are so thankful to have had such a perfect place to make new memories!!

A lovely ferry ride across the sound to the Oyster Bay location provided a change of scenery and a much needed getaway from our year at home.
Our boys explored the yard, the trail down to the beach, and the wonders of a mud flat at low tide. They were so busy exploring that they didn't watch TV at all.
Our older son was a huge fan of the front bedroom. The younger son moved from one twin bed to the next each night.

Covid relief
What better way to launch my family’s recovery from a year of seclusion than to get us all together in a little slice of heaven! The home is picture perfect; fully equipped not only with household essentials but also as a gateway to wonderful hikes and exploratory visits to the various islands. The nicest compliment I can pay is to simply say we didn’t want to leave!

Lovely escape!
Less than two hours away from our regular home, but an area we'd never explored. Oyster manor was a lovely escape from our regular routines. The house has a lovely view of the bay and is warm, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable getaway
This was a nice getaway for two couples and our dogs. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and living room, plenty of towels etc. We really enjoyed sitting outside taking in the gorgeous view. We used the kayaks one day which was very easy and fun for non outdoorsy people like us. Communication with Rod was super clear and easy.
