About this house rental
This charming Home 2/2 that accommodates 6 people has been renovated with all the amenities needed for a great vacation. Located on Sombrero Beach Rd, this home is walking distance to the lovely Sombrero Beach, just a few blocks away from Publix, Winn-Dixie, CVS, great restaurants and local Bars.
The House is located in the heart of the Florida Keys, at Mile Marker 50 in Marathon, located on the Ocean side, Only a one hour car drive to Key West. The property Dock can accommodate comfortably up to a 35 foot Boat. Dock has a Fish cleaning table with a fresh water faucet & a Salt water hand pump. The dock also has a Shore power pedestal with 115V shore power, 120V AC outlet, a shower and a Fresh water hose for wash-down.
The House is comfortable for either fishing and or just relaxing as you wish. There is a freezer provided for your bait as well as a refrigerator for refreshments on the ground floor for your use. Just minutes away from the open water fishing grounds where you can enjoy catching various snappers species, grouper, tarpon, cobia, sailfish, dolphin (mahi), wahoo, tuna, king mackerel etc . . . and also Beautiful snorkeling or SCUBA diving to catch stone crab or lobster when in season. Close to Crane Point Museum & Nature Center, Bahia Honda State Park, seven mile bridge and great shallow & deep water fishing and diving. We also have a Live Bait Holding pen on site for you convenience.
The house has comfortable furniture and central A/C. We provide towels and linens. We have a stainless steel BBQ for outdoor cooking. Our home has Premium cable TV Service, FREE High speed WIFI Wireless Internet, Flat Screen TV's in both the living room and each bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, the 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room there is a queen Trundle pull-out bed. We have a full kitchen with brand new appliances, microwave, plates, pots, pans, toaster, coffeemaker, blender, and utensils for your convenience.
There is ample parking in front of the house for cars and boat trailer. There are several convenient FREE boat ramps in town for launching your boat with the closest being on the bay side on 34th street in Marathon. We have a 2 kayaks ( a single & a dual pax ), a paddle Board & 2 Bicycles on the ground floor that you can use for strolling thru the waterways or neighborhood at your leisure. There are 2 Hammocks, a picnic table & 4 lawn chairs for just relaxing.

What an amazing location. We had everything we needed and then some! Quiet, clean and conveniently located!

Cute little house with great amenities. The backyard is fantastic and our toddler enjoyed the hammocks. Beds and couch were comfortable. TVs and internet worked fine. It is on a busier road across from a high school so a little noisy and need to be mindful for younger kids. The dock was nice and enjoyed the ride out through the canals. The canal is a little narrow but we were still able to get turned around easily enough. It was great being so close to Sombrero Beach and it was close to any of the restaurants we wanted to go to. Overall we would stay here again!

Good central location in Keys. Location of house is directly across the street from a school so trash trucks woke us up at 5:30 every morning so gave it 3 stars for that as it wasn’t clear when looking at house. The house is really cute and decorated nicely! If up early to fish or start your day, not a problem and would recommend!

House was very clean and comfortable, property was very well kept. Dock was great and very clean. Easy ride out to ocean through Sisters Creek. Storage room downstairs was perfect for rods and equipment-bait freezer works great. It was nice to have extra fridge also. Plenty of parking for vehicles and trailer. Host was available for any questions we had. Would definitely stay there again - we had a great time!

We had a great time for Spring Break 2023! The house itself had everything we needed or could want. The outdoor living space was perfect; especially the hammocks, hot tub and bean bags! Indoors everything was clean and orderly. There was plenty of room for four adults and two teenagers. The location had you 5 minutes from just about anything you could need. Would definitely recommend to anyone and stay again!! Dora was super responsive and courteous throughout all of our communications! Thank you!!!

The house was immaculate and came with so many extras. Host thought if everything, from books and games and beach equipment to a kitchen equipped with everything you may need. Yard is beautiful, especially the hot tub surrounded by palm trees . Excellent communication with the property manager. Thank you Dors for all the extra touches!

My husband and I took a winter break in mid-January and visited Dora's home in the Sombrero Beach area of Marathon, FL. We had to change or trip plans last year after Hurricane Ian hit the Fort Myers area. We settled on Marathon and I am so glad we made the decision to stay at Dora's home. It was outstanding and we had a hard time leaving. Positives about the home include it's location along Sombrero Beach Road. We were only a mile from a small community beach, the grocery store and gas station. The intersection at the Overseas Highway also had a traffic light which was very helpful when traffic was heavy. The neighborhood has walking and bicycle paths everywhere and most of the homes, including Dora's, back onto canals. We enjoyed sitting in the back area with plenty of chairs and a hot tub perfect for evenings. The home was very clean and had everything we needed plus a few perks including a portable, wireless speaker we used to listen to music on the deck. The home also has plenty of parking and lower level storage with bikes and beach chairs/umbrellas. We didn't need to purchase any extras during the trip. If I had any suggestions to offer it would be helpful to know where to leave any extras we purchase for future renters. For example, we had a few unopened sodas and food items which we left in the downstairs fridge. Dora was very responsive. I messaged a few times and she replied within less than 30 minutes. The communication was outstanding and very much appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful time. There is so much to do in Marathon from the turtle hospital and dolphin research center to snorkeling, boating and fishing. We especially enjoyed the nearby Dockside bar/restaurant in the neighborhood which had daily music and decent food. We also rented bicycles which we road from the house to Pigeon Key along the Old Seven Mile Bridge. You won't lack for fun things to do and Dora's home is the perfect.place to stay.

Dora’s home was very clean and our experience was a great one. We stayed in her home for a week for my son’s 17th birthday/ summer vacation. I wish we could have stayed longer. We didn’t have a boat but her home is perfect if you have one that you want to bring with you. The kayaks and paddle board came in handy. We spent a lot of time snorkeling a couple local spots. We rented a boat for a day and went to sombrero reef which was beautiful. The house is in a great location, close to the 7 mile bridge and about an hour to key west. We had an amazing time and Dora’s home was very accommodating.

Great 2 bedroom, 2 bath plus fold out. Updated and well- maintained unit on a canal. A bit of a ride to the ocean but not bad. Had a hot tub, gas grill, bikes and some water toys. Even had friendly neighbors. The home was very near to restaurants and a supermarket (Publix). I certainly recommend this rental; my family and I had a great time!

This was a very convenient location. The hot tub was nice to sit in at night. Overall this is a great place to stay. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. I would definitely stay at this home again we go to the keys several times a year.

Amazing Stay!
This was a great house! The accommodations were perfect. It had all basic needs and even a bit extra- it was clean, organized and in a great location. Quiet and easy to access to water and Publix. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in vacationing in Marathon! Thank you to all!

Dora’s house was very clean, comfortable with updated kitchen and bathroom.
We were very impressed and pleased with the property and the caring, nice and responsible property owner Dora. We have rented dozens of properties in many states and this was the first one that exceeded our expectation. Great beds, pillows and couches are priceless when you travel 1,300 miles for your one vacation a year. Fortunate and blessed.

The house was just the right size for our family and was very well equipped, the kitchen offered nice dishes, cooking items and appliances along with niceties' that you would not always think about bringing such as spices. Dora's taste in décor really fits the house and brings out the beach feel and putting you in a relaxed state of mind. We go to the keys to fish and dive, the dock worked out very nicely along with the fish cleaning station, and has running water and power. The ground level storage area has a refrigerator and bait freezer which made it nice for fishing and also a good place to store rods and gear. When we weren't on the water we spent almost all of our time on the rear deck or down stairs in the outdoor seating area which was nicely laid out with a tropical feel. We are already discussing our next trip down and are planning to stay at Dora's place again.

More than we dreamed about!!
This house was even better than the pictures! The home and landscaping were just gorgeous. It was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Everything we needed for the beach was right in the downstairs shed. We even brought our boat and there was plenty of dock space and the dock was well equipped to clean the fish we caught. We were visited by manatees, snook and pelicans almost every day. It provided us with the very best the Florida Keys has to offer. Location was perfect too, with beautiful Sombrero Beach a short walk or bike ride away and two grocery stores just minutes away. It was right in the middle of so many wonderful restaurants and Key West and Islamorada were just a short drive away too! We had a blast and made memories of a lifetime! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!!

Where do I start! The weather was amazing! We were so impressed with the home and it's property. Perfect for everything we needed it for. It seems newly renovated and we really appreciated that. Everything was super clean, kitchen and bathrooms well appointed. Beds comfortable. There are SO many EXTRAS there to use if needed, definitely message the owner if you have a question about bringing something because it's probably already there. We have stayed in multiple rental properties and this one definitely has the most to offer/well equipped. We felt so at HOME. We loved the hot tub, the hammocks and the covered deck for am coffee. We loved the rooster and doves!!! We loved the back yard and the palm trees. The only small drawback is the location but it's a 50/50 really. You are so centrally located to a ton of activities so it didn't take long to get to wherever you wanted to go. The thing I didn't realize, the house is across the street from the high-school. Visiting in the summer, no big deal but during our trip, it was very busy, like any normal school. Kids honking their horns and we could hear the bells in the morning. Still, not that big of a deal for us. The neighbor situation is at the very least, odd. The stairways are connected and the path to the dock is shared, so they are closer than I realized. The neighbors are full time/owners. If you're on the deck and they're outside, you're forced to sort of awkwardly sit there listening to their sometimes colorful conversations/phone calls, family drama, coughing and smelling whatever it is they are partaking in over there. I personally didn't enjoy that but we weren't out there every night so we have MANY other memories that supersede the neighbor issue. Our suggestion would be to install a shutter or some sort of privacy on the left side of the deck. We'd definitely consider booking again if that happened. Miss the Keys already!

Everything we hoped for, then some!
My wife started a tradition of picking a house in the Keys to send my son and I where we could fish and enjoy our time together. Out of all the places I’ve stayed in the Keys, Dora’s house stands out as practically perfect! It was super clean and had all the amenities you could want. It is in a beautiful section of Marathon, with easy access to Publix and the many restaurants in town. There is a bike path in front of the house thar winds it’s way to Sombrero Beach (.75 miles). Dora has two bikes for you to use so no need to bring yours! We rented a boat from Capt. Pips for the week and docked it out back. We caught fish and lobster every day. The dock and grounds, are immaculate. There is a hot tub, hammocks, corn hole games, and kayaks. On one of the days too windy to fish, we took a day trip to Islamorada and visited some shops, breweries, and restaurants. Our favorite was Lorelei’s for their happy hour and sunset. Whenever I had a question, Dora was very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Perfect getaway to the Keys
This house was absolutely perfect for our needs. It was impeccably clean with modern appliances and decor. The beds were comfortable. The location was perfect, just a short bike ride to the grocery store, shops and restaurants. We rented a boat for the week and the dock spot made it easy to come and go for fishing. The hot tub was a great option after a long day as well. You really cannot go wrong with this house. Thanks Dora!

The house was amazing. The lovation is walking distance to Sombreo beach. We walked down to the beach and watched amazing sunsets, spent beach dsyz there. The listining is just like on line and the property manager was great.
