Our Family of 3 stayed here for thanksgiving weekend. Very secluded and quiet location, just what we were looking for a weekend getaway . The house was very cozy, clean, and well stocked. We enjoyed nearby fishing and reading and relaxing by the fireplace. Thanks!

This was our 2nd visit and we already know we will be back. Just a very comfortable place in the middle of peace and tranquility. We enjoy the amenities that are available and there is hiking accessible close by without even getting in a car. We tank the owners for their use of this place

Very secluded, and makes you feel like you are in a treehouse. Owners are very nice to deal with would recommend. Great hiking opportunities all around cabin.

This place is very cute and clean. Enjoyed our stay once we found the place. The cottage was very remote for sure but it was very pleasant once there. We did not have internet connectivity or cell phone capability, but the host provides a landline which proved to be helpful to reach family and let them know we made it! This is a very nice, quiet, place to stay to just relax and get away. The hosts covered all the necessary needs to feel at home, even down to extra blankets, and the comfort level is great! Beautiful drive coming and going to this charming cabin. We would stay here again and give it a 5 star rating. Thanks for the pleasant stay!

The location was perfect for us. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck and listen to the stream beside the cabin. Because of the location, it felt like we were in a tree-house. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and very well maintained. We were close to the lake and the views around the lake were gorgeous. We will definitely book this cabin again. Thank you for sharing this home with us.

This cozy cabin had everything we needed and then some! Great location for a remote mountain getaway that is close to whitewater rafting, kayaking, and waterfall sightseeing!

Clean and tidy. Very isolated cabin with access to trails. Exactly what we and the dog wanted! Stayed for 6 nights and ate out 2x and went food shopping x1. Didn’t need to go anywhere else, hiked from the cabin! Hot tub clean and great location. This is great for 2 people and a dog, we really had a great time and Debbie was very accommodating with our late booking!

I loved listening to the stream and enjoying the hot tub that was great, just next to the stream. Amazing view. Great stocked kitchen.
I loved not having cell phone service so I really could disconnect from things, the whole reason I went.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, comfortable and private place to spend some time on our return trip to Ft. Myers Florida right after it had been hit by a devastating hurricane. This home was everything that we needed to get the realities of what we were heading into out of our mind for just a short time. We spent nearly all of our time outside enjoying the large outdoor decks, the fire pit and the hot tub everyday of our stay. We thank the Dave and Debbie for the use of their place as well as they hospitality and responsiveness whenever we had a question. It will be on return list for VRBO properties, and we will be rebooking for next year.

We had such a nice stay at Cabin Fever once again! It’s so nice to be out in the woods with no one around and all you hear is the stream that runs next to the cabin. The cabin itself has such a nice full kitchen and a beautiful living room. The bedrooms are spotless as well! I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your cabin with our family and letting our dogs come too! They loved it as well!

Peaceful Mountain Retreat
Property was just as described. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed. All instructions on VRBO were spot on. Had no issues whatsoever. Everything was in good working order. The creek next to the cabin was amazing. The sound of it was very relaxing as was the fire pit next to it. Smaller vehicles could have issues getting to the cabin but I have an SUV so it was not an issue. That’s expected in a mountain community where you can escape from it all. There was limited cell reception but WiFi worked fine. We expected that. We never turned the TV on so I can’t review that. All in all, it was a great stay so close to beautiful Lake Nantahala (5 minutes) where we kayaked both days. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a great time. The cabin was spacious with lots of outdoor space. The stream was wonderful and we could hear it the entire time. In fact all we really heard was the stream, the animals, birds, and insects outside, the rain (our last night), and the wind. It was incredibly quiet even with another cabin visible down the hill. We heard maybe five vehicles drive by on Saturday to the trailhead.
Hiking nearby. The lake was beautiful and a great place to rent a kayak. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our pup, Lily, loved it, too. She was able to move between the two decks, played in the stream, and took some long naps after her hikes.
Thanks for a wonderfully relaxing and quiet weekend of nature, reading, conversation, and calm.

We enjoyed our stay! Glad we had a heads up in the road & driveway as we came in after dark. The cabin is relatively far from many places…that may matter to others. We knew that & had selected this location specifically for fly fishing the Nantahala River. 😊

Secluded and very quiet except for the running water fall and stream that ran by the cabin... which was very nice! No complaints!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
We absolutely loved this cute little house. We were grateful that it was fully stocked- Full kitchen, washer and dryer, two full bathrooms, hot tub, fireplace, etc. There was snow during our stay and it was beautiful and peaceful. We absolutely loved the outside area and the decks were the perfect place to spend time and feel immersed in nature. The house is definitely tucked away from things and really feels like a great place for a break from reality but still close enough to neighboring towns to not feel totally isolated. A few things that we wish we would’ve known beforehand to better prepare:
1. The road to get to the house is beautiful and follows flowing water but it is pretty rocky and bumpy (part of the appeal of being in a country cabin). My SUV made it okay but the property is definitely not the easiest to get to. A 4-wheel drive vehicle would probably be ideal but not totally necessary.
2. We had no cell signal for miles and the Wi-Fi in the house was intermittent so we were unable to utilize our phones or laptops to search for or get to places outside of the house (GPS did not work without Wi-Fi or signal). Maybe consider pre-planning your activities and printing out directions prior to arrival. The owners do provide a landline so we were able to make phone calls without a problem.
3. The owners do ask that you drive your trash to a nearby dump. However, the dump is only open a few days a week so plan for this ahead of time. The dump was not open the day before we left and was not yet open when we left early in the morning so we ended up having to drive our trash bags to another dump in a different city on our way home.

The cabin was just right for us and could have easily accommodated another couple or children. Not too far away from town but far enough to be secluded. Beautiful little piece of property. Will be returning.

We had a wonderful stay at Cabin Fever! The cabin is cozy, comfortable, updated, and clean - you can tell from the moment you walk in that it’s truly a home and you are a welcome guest.
The kitchen is really well appointed and has everything you need, and the Christmas decorations were lovely and festive (we come to this area from our home in Florida just about every year between Christmas and New Years to get into the holiday spirit, because 80 degrees and palm trees just doesn’t quite do it). And the decks! Seriously, the decks are amazing - you’re literally in the trees, listening to the soundtrack of a babbling creek that runs right alongside the house.
The weather didn't cooperate for much of our hiking plans in the Nantahala National Forest, so we had to “make due” with sipping coffee in rocking chairs on the upper deck in the morning, reading in front of the fireplace during the afternoon, and enjoying wine in the hot tub overlooking the creek in the evening. And during breaks in the weather, we explored nearby trails (including a section of the Bartram Trail that starts less than a half-mile from the cabin and leads to Nantahala Lake) and the quiet gravel roads that wind through the area, up the hills and along the river.
It was a wonderful and peaceful respite, and we couldn’t have hoped for a nicer cabin or location! The owners were responsive and kind, and we are already planning a return trip!

Great place. Very clean. Plenty to do. Pet Friendly, Decorated for the season. The fully stocked kitchen had everything in it. If I had 1 complaint it would be that when I pulled out the bottom drawer of the stove, I found some Mouse droppings. Aside from that the rest of the place was perfect. From the fire pit with stacked fire wood, to the board games, to the satilite tv to the Wi-Fi so I can keep up with work. The bed rooms were amazing, the furniture was appropriately chosen for a country cabin. The hot tub right off the master bed room, was a great way to relax. I would stay here again. 100%. Even my Dogs had a blast

We had an awesome time at this property. It was everything that was promised and some. Loved the one on one with nature, roasting marshmallows and rocking on the front porch with our blankets as we watched the sun go down. The cell service wasn't the greatest, I got my best service in the living area nearest the front porch door. I do not think we would have made it if we did not drive our truck. But that's a part of being in the mountains, needing all wheel power. It's not for the faint of heart but if u can close your eyes and enjoy the ride the wait is well worth it!!!! Thanks Five Stars!!!!

A cozy, very private home greeted my wife and good friends after a long 6 hour drive. We followed the detailed instructions and turned up the hot tub upon arrival. Although it was cold and raining outside the tub was ready for us after our dinner. The decor and furnishings all made us feel very comfortable. The only missing star from a perfect score was the missing hope of a wifi connection longer than 5 minutes. We traveled daily and enjoyed board games in the evening, but not being able to see the NC State vs Wake Forest football game on our laptop was a bummer. It was only on the ACC network and we cut everything off in hopes the modem would not lose the signal for 1 laptop, but had to give up. We altered our plans and got score updates from the bottom of the screen while watching another football game on direct TV.
Overall we had a very restful 3 nights at this private, secluded mountain retreat.

This location is very private and is a great place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday lives. There was plenty of firewood provided for the fire pit which was a really nice surprise as we enjoy making smores around a camp fire.
Although we didn't need it, there is a land line phone at this location which is great because there is very little to no cell service and the internet is not reliable. Don't count on any food/pizza delivery here. There is a small cafe down the road, but any other food establishments are a good 45 + minutes away, so may sure to bring your own food. They have a nice grill or use the stove or microwave. There is a natural spring up the mountain top providing an amazing small stream flowing down the one side of the property. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Wonderful cabin!
This really is a cute little cabin. The cabin was very clean and well-stocked with everything you need. The location is very quiet and peaceful. We are recommending this cabin to all of our friends and family! The owners are very responsive and they take great care of the cabin.
If you have a sedan and not an SUV, van or truck - the road is navigable if you are careful. We were able to navigate in and out and in our Honda Accord. That being said . . . I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on leaving the cabin every day for trips around the area and are coming back at night. The other member of our group had a van, and we used the van on most of our trips in and out because it was so much easier. The owners have worked hard to reduce the potholes, but it is a country gravel road and a hard week of rain right before our trip washed out their hard work. Just as an FYI :-) Otherwise everything about this cabin was wonderful and we hope to stay there again!
