Lovely place, private, quiet, clean, well furnished. Full kitchen, firm beds (We loved it, but be aware they mattresses are very firm) and pet friendly. Chester is about 15 minutes away, stop at the Country Girl Diner for breakfast. There is a little yarn store which is wonderful, and closer by was a Vermont Maple shop (can't remember the name) that was HUGE inside and well worth a visit. Get some fudge. FYI, be aware that there is no TV, no internet. Cell reception is "meh" at one or two bars, but it was enough to make a call or read email. Some of the local businesses have odd hours, for example, the soup place is only open on weekends. The master bedroom has an "open" design - there is no door and it is open to the rooms below. This was mostly okay for us since it was just our family, but it does make for a small challenge in terms of making noise in the house, etc. Overall, we loved our stay and have already discussed meeting up there again in the future.

Within in a hour of arriving I was already thinking of when we'll return ..... such a perfect house. We just had the most relaxing weekend. The house is even better than the photo's and our dog literally lived her best life the entire time running off leash around the property. The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are super comfy. If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place. The local town, Chester, is really cute and has great antiquing, and a nice Scottish pub for lunch. There are lots of local hiking trails within 15 mins drive just over the river in New Hampshire. Immaculate house, very comfortable for my husband and I. We enjoyed the sunrises from the big windows by the dining table and the wonderful moods of the front meadow. One morning the sun streamed through the clouds and lit up that area, the fog in the meadow…gorgeous. We read, relaxed, and enjoyed our stay.

We cannot state how great this stay was. From the views to the cabin itself it was wonderful. They best way of getting away. Would love to book this in the future.

We absolutely loved staying here! I feel like rentals can go either way sometimes, but the moment we walked in I was pleased with how gorgeous and well-maintained the cabin was. The location is perfect, secluded enough that you can see all the stars at night and the sound of hundreds of birds chirping in the morning, but still so close to downtown bellows falls which was so charming. I have to say, coffee on the porch in the morning was my favorite piece, it was so peaceful and the view was just beautiful. We would definitely come back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Donna’s home! It was warm and welcoming & we loved the area! Our pup was in heaven as well! We highly recommend this home!

Everything was clean (important to us) and pleasant. Exceeded our expectations overall and our family of 2 adults and 2 teens all enjoyed our short stay at this lovely wooden house tucked away for a quiet night. The house had everything you needed, and we had downloaded some movies on our iPad, so no wifi did not stop us from having some entertainment. But, looking up at the starry night together, marveling at the ever wonderful sight was an even better option. We counted a few shooting stars as well. Thank you Donna for being a great host. We look forward to coming back for longer stays in the future.

This was a peaceful getaway with plenty to do around the area. Donna was wonderful and got back to me quickly with all my questions. My family and I had an enjoyable time.

We loved the location, and the cabin is beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen and kitchen supplies made home-away-from-home cooking easy. Everything was impeccably clean, comfortable, better than pictured, and as many have said there are tons of games to play, books to read, and birds and critters to watch. The location is idyllic and quiet. We really enjoyed a short drive into charming downtown Bellows Falls for great coffee and company.

I've stayed at this location several times and the quiet location is so relaxing. Just what I needed. My dogs love to frolic then relax on the porch. Can't recommend enough.

Loved this little farmhouse! Lots of games, puzzles, and books to use in the absence of wifi. We would come back.

This is such a lovely place for a getaway. It is secluded, off a dirt road and all you can hear is birds in the meadow. Definitely don't come here if you're media addicted. No TV, no wifi, and a just-barely passable cellular connection. But if you would like to sink yourself into long conversations on a comfortable porch as you watch the barn swallows cavort in the meadow, then this is the place for you.

Such a wonderful place, sad to leave. It was better than promised. We will be back again.

The house was much nicer than we had expected based on the photos. The home owner should really update the pictures on VRBO so that people can see how really beautiful it is! So relaxing and quiet. The location was perfect!

Originally wanted to use this as a base for hiking but we ended up being rained out. We spent the weekend reading, playing board games, and cozying up by the fire instead. The space was so quiet and comfortable I wasn't even mad about not being able to go hiking. The house is perfect for some R&R.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Just the break we needed from our hectic lives. The kids and dog loved exploring the vast field and forest, we enjoyed relaxing, playing games and reading. So good to unplug. We also took a day trip to VINS and that was amazing. we are looking forward to booking again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay in this little cabin overlooking a big field and woods. The house is very comfortable, and has everything you need to spend a relaxing weekend, either hiking, skiiing or reading by the fire. Donna is very easy and friendly to communicate with. This was my third time total staying here and it was beautiful as ever! The last two times were in the summer so I was pleasantly surprised by the heating set up and how cozy it was when cold outside. Highly recommend

We loved our stay. It was a great time waking up to quietness and proceeding making breakfast. They have everything you might need for a comfortable stay.

This is the third time staying at this wonderful Vermont home. Every detail is in place and it’s in a great peaceful location. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to cook. Close to Chester, Ascutney, Harpoon, and other fun things to do… or do nothing. There’s no Wi-Fi or TV but that is the whole point. You don’t come to a place like this to watch Netflix or work on your laptop. Love it!

This is our second time staying here and we absolutely love it. It's cozy, remote, and meets all of our needs. The beds are comfortable, plenty of space, a nice kitchen, and a great front porch. Looking forward to our stay next year.

We absolutely fell in love with the house and the breathtaking sunrises from the front window. The house is super clean and such a tranquil place - no TV was a plus, although I didn't notice connectivity issues despite lack of internet. The house was spacious, yet cozy and the washer and dryer was a definite plus.
