I stayed there for a week with my family and it was in the perfect location. We were able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants on Balboa Island and we were just a short drive to other great locations in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach. I couldn't have asked for more.

Another wonderful stay at the cottage!
This is my 8th year to spend a month and I look forward to it all year long.
The front porch is what attracted me to it in the first place. It’s nice to have friends or family come by and meals outside are wonderful. Being on the corner is another one of my favorites about the cottage as I love talking to everyone who walks by.
I felt more at home this time, I cooked, the oven is great, and the BBQ is perfect for when the family comes down. The beds are comfortable upstairs.
I have a couple favorite restaurants as well, we especially love Trattoria for Italian food and Wilma's for breakfast. It's just a short 2 block walk to the main street.
Also being just a couple short blocks from the bay makes it nice to pour a cup of coffee in a to-go cup and walk down to the bench and talk to everyone as they take their morning walk.
It’s just a short walk to the ferry and we always go across to the peninsula for some beautiful pictures and big waves.
Balboa Island has always been a special place to visit but having the cottage once a year has made it a real treasure.

Quaint little cottage on Balboa Island. Clean and well located for visiting the coast.

Sweet cottage with charm and character. Great location, close to Marine Avenue for restaurants & shopping. Master bed and bedding so comfy. New nice couches, too, a surprise.
Next time, I’m bringing more family and friends and getting the attached 1106 Park Avenue home through iTrip with same type layout!!
Aside from iTrip welcome touches, I look forward to returning to this particular home and place - and HIGHLY recommend!

We had the best time in this very relaxing cottage. It’s located very close to all the shopping and restaurants which makes for a nice walk. We will definitely be back.

When we first walked in my kids exclaimed that we had arrived in what felt like a doll house. The house is older, reminiscent of a vintage doll house. White drapes and flower wallpaper adorn the walls. A small and functional kitchen and laundry were extremely helpful. The stairs are steep with narrow steps, but manageable for any able bodied person. Location is perfect for the authentic balboa island experience. Directions for guests were easy to understand and not over done. We will look to stay here on our next trip again for sure.

This property is located a block from downtown Balboa and a block from the water. Great location near wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and bakery. You can literally park your car and walk to everything you need. The house is 99 years old and charming. Not fancy, but perfect for a relaxing getaway. We will be back.

My friend & I loved this little cottage. It is in a great location, only two blocks from the main shopping area. The house was clean and airy. The one issue for us, as senior women, is the fact that the bathroom was on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the second floor.

this is a cute traditional cottage. It is best for individuals or families that are not challenged by stairs to bedrooms. The location was perfect as there is much activity along the main road and it is two blocks from the main street.

We loved this home. It was perfectly located, just two blocks from the main street, one to the boardwalk and a great coffee shop around the corner. We loved sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings. The house was very clean and had everything we could need. We cannot wait to be able to come back.

Cottage was adorable and location was great. Very close to Marine avenue allowing us to stay there without having to have a car. We LOVED the patio. The downside was the cottage was not cleaned very well. The kitchen table was dirty and covered in sand as well as sand on the floor and the washing machine. The door frames were really dirty. The lint filter in the dryer looked like it had never been cleaned out. I only realized this when our clothes were not drying and the room was becoming really hot. I do have pictures if the owner or property manager would like to see. We were also surprised that there was only 2 rolls of toilet paper for a weeks visit for 2 people. The cottage was very warm and could benefit from an AC wall unit both downstairs and upstairs where the bedrooms are.

Patio Charmer
Very responsive management and a clean and super comfortable retreat. Spent much time on the patio in the early evening shade watching the world go by. Close to all we wanted to do! Walked everywhere! Enjoyed our electric boat rental at Pacific Electric Boat just three miles away! Look forward to returning.

Everything was great. Very comfortable beds. Well stocked. So close to town. Cute, vintage beach house. Not fancy but a great value and everything I could have wanted. I will rent this again. Balboa Island is unbeatable for a weekend get away.

Great Place to Stay on Balboa Island
This is a great place to stay on Balboa Island. We used the cottage to stay in while we visited family in Irvine. The cottager is very comfortable and the owner is very attentive to any issues that you may have. One of the best things about the cottage is the location. It is only a block from the water and two blocks from the center of town and all the restaurants and stores. Very easy walking distance to everything. The other nice thing is that there is guaranteed parking at the cottage. This is especially nice on busy weekends. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of sheets towels and a washer and dryer. It was an excellent experience. We look forward to returning in the spring.

GREAT LOCATION, WALK TO EVERYTHING. CUTE HOUSE. THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF WAS, IF YOU ARE TALL THE BEDS ARE TOO SMALL. HUSBAND'S FEET HUNG OVER (HA HA). YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET NEW MATTRESS. OTHERWISE I WOULD GIVE THIS A 5 STAR. HOUSE IS A GREAT SPOT TO WATCH HOW PEOPLE DRIVE. (VERY ENTERTAINING)

Beach Day!
Another year staying on the Island, Another great stay. Cottages are always super clean, welcoming and updated each time we stay. Communication with Scott and ITrip is great. Always available to answer any questions. Our family has built so many memories here over the years. Already looking forward to our next stay.
Thanks so much Scott and Lynn!!!

Beach week
Great experience here with a fabulous patio and storage for out toys. We actually brought bikes, inflatable paddleboards and the dog and had room for all. We paddleboarded off Ruby beach, took the ferry and bikes all over the main beaches, and walked the dog all over the island. We wished we could have stayed longer.

A Lovely Welcome!
This is the 5th year I have stayed at this charming beach house. The front porch and the corner lot is what first attracted me to it.
There is a very short walk to the bay, where you can watch the sunset every night and also a short walk to the ferry, for the 5- minute crossing to the peninsula. The beaches on the peninsula are wonderful, our grandsons love spending the day there with me.
Marine Ave. is lined with a lot of good restaurants and shops, and the cottage is set up nicely for fixing your meals at home. Ordering something and bringing it back and eating on the porch is my favorite. The Irvine Ranch market has everything you would want and very convenient to pick up a few things every day.
The beds are comfortable, and easily accommodates 5-6 people. This cottage is a wonderful retreat, in a perfect location on the Island. Once you close that door at night, the coziness of the front room calls for curling up on the couch with a good book or T.V. show. It truly is a lovely welcome.

Another Winner!!
This is the second time we stayed at this beautiful Balboa home, but this was our first time staying in the FRONT half of the house! It was just as lovely as the back, and it made our vacation just wonderful. Scott is so easy to work with, and he definitely makes sure your stay is awesome! We loved sitting out on the front porch, waving and talking with people as they walked by. The outdoor BBQ was such a blessing, and we were able to enjoy a delicious steak dinner out on the patio as the sun was going down. We've stayed at many houses on Balboa over the years, and this is by far our favorite rental -- we will definitely be back again and again!!

Balboa Island Charmer
Location, location, location. This charming cottage was the perfect getaway for my husband and me. We parked our car the first day and the rest was fun, fun, fun. Easy walking distance to ferry where we rented our bikes daily. We rode to Huntington Beach and beyond 3 times. We shopped locally, had a tasty breakfast at Wilma's, ate a delicious dinner at the Village Inn, and got morning coffee at Irvine Ranch Market (the best deal in town). Our location was perfect for people watching also. We walked the entire island to see all the beautiful and charming homes. The barbecue was perfect for the house made sausage we bought at Sabatino's on Lido Isle. We will be returning!
