Located in Alto, this attractive lodge for $320 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. 4 Bedrooms, Sleeping Loft, 2 Bathrooms with Amazing Kitchen and Outdoor Sitting Areas NEWLY REMODELED Located in Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club Estates at the corner of Fort Stanton Road and Alto Drive, just 1 mile north of Ski Run Road and Ruidoso Winter Park Tubing and 5 miles north of downtown Ruidoso. This quintessential mountain home is the perfect place for family vacationing or a weekend escape. Gather several couples and sit around the fireplace to watch your favorite football games on the wall mounted 70" flat screen TV located in the Great Room. Sit on the front deck or gazebo and enjoy the beautiful views surrounded by large ponderosa pines or the back deck and spacious back porch provide a quiet place to relax or grill and dine outside. Soak in the peaceful private surroundings where wildlife abounds - deer, elk, wild turkey and other animals frequent the area. This two story lodge can be accessed via outside stairs or the back door is available at the ground level from a paved parking area. It offers three large paved parking areas and an attached single garage. A full size washer and dryer are located in the basement. The home offers 4 bedrooms with wall mounted flat screen TV's in all rooms, and a sleeping loft. The two bedrooms on the main level have King beds with new mattresses. On the second level there are two additional bedrooms with 1 King size bed and 1 Queen size bed with a new mattress. There is also a sleeping loft with a daybed & trundle. The large living/dining room combination features a 70" flat screen TV. Ample seating is provided with a dining/game table which seats 6, a kitchen bar which seats 5 and a party bar which seats 4 additional guest. Do not forget to check out the game room with a Foosball Table and Dart Board. And a XBOX with Kinect and a lot of games for your kids to play in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Also make sure to check out our hand-carved totem pole out front. This house also has central AC and heat and a beautiful rustic fireplace with gas logs. Main access roads to property are well maintained during winter storms.

If you are looking for a place outside of and close to Ruidoso at the same time, this is it. Great front porch for coffee in the mornings and even a night cap. Secluded somewhat from neighboring houses. Spacious indoors equipped with everything you need. Great spot down the road to hang out (Noisy Water Winery) in the afternoon too. This is where we want to stay when coming to town.

The beds and couches were very comfortable. Felt clean being there. Our group had a great time relaxing. View was beautiful. Would stay there again.

We loved this place for our family stay. We saw plenty of wild horses, deer, and elk.

Somewhat disappointed
I sent a message to the property manager with the issues we found. Too many to list here. The house itself was nice. It was not clean inside or out. Looks like it had been a while since anyone had been there. Needs interior doors repaired/replaced.

This is a lovely house, but it is somewhat dated. One room had a sliding door completely missing. The bathroom sliding door was difficult to open and shut. We enjoyed our stay but would pick another home if we ever go back.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Ruidoso- especially sitting out on the porch watching the deer. The layout of the cabin was perfect for our family, which included 3 couples, 1 teen, and 1 kid. I gave four stars because some of the pocket doors in the house didn’t work. The two bedrooms on the lower floor both had door issues- 1 didn’t close all the way and the other was missing a door altogether- something that I would have liked to know ahead of time.

Modern Cabin
We had such a nice time, everyone wanted to hang out at the property instead of head into town. It felt like a cabin w/all the modern conveniences needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The place was super clean and the owner was very accommodating. The environment was magnificent and the outdoor seating areas were perfect for visiting w/each other and created such a relaxing atmosphere for morning coffee or an evening drink. The kitchen was fully stocked w/all the cooking supplies needed to make your meals and serve our party of 8. We didn’t want for anything the entire time we were there. I will specifically seek out this property the next time we plan on staying in Ruidoso bc of the location, the cleanliness and the open floor plan which was perfect for hanging out all together and catching up w/each other. I’m hoping next time it’ll be open for a winter visit… I’m sure it would be even more beautiful surrounded by snow.

Spring Break Getaway
The experience of the stay was amazing. The house was very nice, clean, and comfortable. It had everything that you need and the location was great. Just a short drive into town and very close to good restaurants. Booking was very easy and the communication with the property manager was great.

Dream Christmas Getaway
Given the awkward year, I knew I wouldn’t be able to see all the people I usually do for Christmas. I got my cousin’s family to come with us from TX to NM. 5 stars on every item isn’t enough. The cabin itself is gorgeous, the layout works great, the bed space is phenomenal, and the addition of the Christmas tree and decorations topped it off. It is located near all the activities but still where you will see deer, elk, and wild horses romancing near the cabin. It comes very well stocked (and we left any non-perishables we didn’t use for the next crowd). We were able to make a full Tex-mex Christmas dinner. We played game after game at the round table and warmed up by the gorgeous fireplace. The owner was super responsive
, kind, and easy to work with. You could really tell he wants the people who stay there to enjoy the cabin as much as he does. I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking in this area.

Thanksgiving Fun
We really enjoyed this beautiful property during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Everything was as stated and advertised and we were very comfortable in this home. Ruidoso did receive snow and the kiddos enjoyed the discs that were in the garage. (Just another added benefit) I would recommend this property for a short or extended vacation. Easy access, private lot, not much traffic, deer and elk were grazing around and very well equipped for an enjoyable stay.

Stewart was a great rental owner to work with! Before we arrived he gave a very detailed instruction on the house and it’s features, followed by a call to make sure everything made sense! This house is in a great location and has all the amenities you could hope for!

Very nice cabin in beautiful Alto
Our stay was great....this cabin is so nice and in a beautiful part of Alto. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Our family had a great time, the cabin was well equipped with essentials, and was exactly as described. The kitchen and living areas were so nice and comfortable for our party of 8. We would love to come back for another weekend sometime!

Great cabin for 2 families. Close to ski Apache. Just north of town by 10 min. Full amenities and had space to move around inside and out without being on top of each other.

Perfect Family friendly Getaway!
This house was truly a home away from home. The decor was homey, the little touches like the blankets, lit fireplace, the rocking chairs, and board games made for a perfect family friendly retreat from the busyness of life. We wanted for nothing. Everything was provided from toiletries to every kitchen item you could think of. The waffles were great!! Perfect location nestled in the woods. About 5 min from fishing and snow recreation, 10 min from restaurants and shops! Thanks again and we can't wait to come back!!

GREAT Place!!!!!!!
The cabin is great! The location is very close to Ski Apache and the Winter Park. The area is beautiful and the roads are well kept when snowing. During our stay there was a snow storm and we didn’t have any issues getting in or out of the area. One of our concerns was the need to have 4x4 on our vehicle but its only needed if you want to go up to Ski Apache after a snow storm, if the road is clean you don’t need a 4x4. The cabin is very spacious and has plenty of beds. The kitchen is perfect it has everything you need to cook any meal. The cabin has TVs in every room and it also has a game counsel in one of the rooms. Also, they have several board games, foosball table and dart board. The owner was very helpful and available if needed. He called and said if we needed anything that we could call him at any time (we didn’t call everything was perfect!) Overall it was a great experience, I highly recommend this place.

Perfect House with a Perfect Host
A group of five of us came up for the weekend and the house was absolutely perfect. Great location, close to the road to access Ski Apache. House was very accommodating, great kitchen and living room, with a huge couch that fit four comfortably. The host was great, gave clear cut directions and made himself accessible if needed. Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful house, great location, amazing scenery!
We really loved our stay! We visited for a few days in January for skiing and sledding. The house is in a beautiful wooded area and about 5 minutes from the Ruidoso sledding/tubing winter park and 35 min (as close as you can stay) to ski Apache. It’s also close to the Albertsons grocery store and not far from the Ruidoso town area. The house had everything you could need. It was great because all the rooms were identical (3 king and 1 queen), so there was no problem with figuring out who had the master. There was a full bath upstairs and downstairs, neither connected to a bedroom. The downstairs one is especially nice. We did have a problem with the plumbing but the owner did everything they could to help on a weekend. Overall it was a lovely stay and a beautiful house.
