Not worth the price

The courtyard was beautiful. View from the hotel is lovely.

Wonderful!

Hotel is stunning, located in a stunning area. Staff where wonderful and helpful! Spa facilities were gorgeous. The atmosphere was magical and happy and the food was spectacular! Views from the terrace were gorgeous - especially for sundowners with their delicious cocktail.

Lovely location, staff amazing

Beautiful location, so easy to get to the waterfront with free shuttle service. The staff could not have been better, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious.

Lovely genteel hotel reminiscent of bygone days.

My air con was not repaired during my stay. I was offered a change of room on the last day but I preferred to stay near my daughter. Slow coffee service at breakfast.

Awesome location, friendly attentive staff. Maintenance needs to be addressed.

Breakfast was exellent as was the service. Dinner was also very good.

Air-conditioning in the room wasn't working. The bar fridge was very noisy and very hot. Changed rooms twice during my 5 night stay.

Great hotel, very central, felt at home and worth a visit.

Have been coming to Winchester Mansions for years. Hotel recently changed management and therefore the name was also changed to The Winchester Boutique Hotel. Rooms are big and comfortable and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. A lot of variety at the breakfast buffet. Dinner at the hotel was great. Staff and reception really made guests feel welcome and always had a smile on their face.

Although the hotel was recently refurbished, rooms look a bit worn out. Some corners of the wall in the room were chipped as well as the furniture. Glass door to the bathroom couldn't close as the floor wasn't even. Window came off its hinges when opened. But during the day reception organised housekeeping to fix the problem. Management will need to look into these things, if the Winchester wants to keep up its name and status.

Plastic pollution and bottles in the hotel - time to wake up!

It was a pity to see all the plastic bottled water around for an establishment that it right across from the ocean. Really hope this can be changed

Unfortunately the amount of plastic bottled water everywhere for a place that should be promoting sustainable solutions was a pity... especially being in a forward-thinking, eco-friendly city like Cape Town was a huge surprise

Room on 2 days weren’t cleaned by 2.30pm … other days was cleaned on time … more water in fridges .. Always having to ask, also have to ask for tea refills ?..

Pretty hotel, excellent location!

Beautiful property. comfortable room and excellent location. the food is nice and we enjoyed both the restaurant and bar there. Breakfast in the courtyard is lovely and they got excellent selections. staff is very helpful and all very nice

the a/c in our room didn’t work at all. they had a fan set up in the room instead when we arrived (we were not told about the a/c not working). after one night sweating we asked the staff and they gladly changed the room for us and apologized…but it would have been nice to have been given a properly functioning room from the beginning - -“

Definitely one of my top 5 places to stay in Cape Town

We are regular guests of the Winchester and this is our first stay with them after their refurbishment. The grand old dame might have gotten a bit of a facelift, but one thing remained the same and that is their wonderful staff. Every single member of staff, from reception, to breakfast, to Harvey's Bar to the cleaning staff does their absolute best to make you feel at home and welcome. Thank you Winchester! We'll definitely be back.

beautiful property, very comfortable bed, awesome courtyard, nice pool area though pool quite small, some staff exceptional and most good, one or two very slow

quite pricey (though accept it was over NYE), a couple of slower staff
