Muy muy pero que muy recomendable

El trato del personal, las instalaciones, el desayuno y la habitación excelentes. La ubicación tambien muy bien y en una zona “segura” teniendo en cuenta que estamos eñ Johanesburgo. La chica de recepción nos recomendó restaurantes para ir a cenar y nos ayudo en todo lo que necesitamos. Si volviéramos, repetiríamos sin dudarlo.

Nos gustó todo. Quizá por poner un pero… no tuvimos agua caliente en ningún momento.

Een fantastisch guesthouse met een geweldig team!

Wat een hartelijk welkom kregen we bij onze aankomst. Een geweldig guesthouse met een enthousiaste eigenaar en een fantastisch team. Dit guesthouse staat in een veilige buurt met restaurantjes op loopafstand. Met de uber zijn attracties of andere restaurants eenvoudig te bereiken. Het ontbijt? Super lekker…. Een betere start van de dag bestaat niet. Een heerlijk guesthouse om na een lange vliegreis tot rust te komen voordat je het land gaat ontdekken.

Great artsy old Mellville feel!

The "old Mellville" arts culture feel and the staff, with their unique backgrounds. This brought back memories for me of the late 80's Mellville.

The guesthouse is fantastic and does everything in their power regarding aesthetics, comfort, and security. It is beyond their control that security has become a challenge, and one needs to remain vigilant at all times, so cannot fully relax.

Nice guesthouse in Melville

The guesthouse is in Melville near UJ, SABC and Wits. It is a still area with the birds singing in the morning. Breakfast nice with home made vetkoek and bread.

I had the cheapest room and it was expectably small but sunny with a nice terrace and garden right next to it. Agterplaas itself is probably one of the best accomodations you can wish for in Johannesburg! It is right at Melville's 7th street with a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. It is safe and clean. The whole team is very friendly, caring and fothcoming. AND THE BREAKFAST IS MARVELLOUS! They serve homemade bread along with freshly cooked omelets or English breakfast and the like. Whenever I should come back to Jo'burg, I'll know where to stay. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDABLE!

Very unique, safe, clean, central and amazing

Lovely atmosphere, perfectly clean, in a very secure part of the area. This is a wonderful place for tourists to experience one of the many local cultures, and one of the very few opportunities to do so. It is also highly recommended for business persons because it is very well situated to moat of Johannesburg’s major business districts including Sandton, Randburg and the central business district jet it is in a save, quiet and beautiful area surrounded by small hills. The breakfast include an option between the usual that you get with all other good guest houses but also an option to choose from a variety of locally unique breakfast types including the best traditional local farm bread with farm fresh butter and a variety of traditional preserves, served in an authentic dining area, which is in its own a cuisine experience not to be missed. Friendly, professional and excellent service from wonderful people from a diversity of several local cultural backgrounds. Absolutely a must-include in the itinerary of any tourist.

Agterplaas is a delightful venue situated in exactly the right spot, very clean and tidy with friendly staff.

The location is in the perfect location, right by restaurants, but also quiet and has a great view. the staff are also delightful and friendly.

The bed creaked whenever someone moves.

Very good

Large, beautiful and very affordable room, with a lovely garden to sit in as well. The breakfast was copious and the people were extremely friendly.

Not that it's something the staff could help, but of course, the load shedding is at times rather impractical. Also, one evening, there wasn't any water. But that too is part of a more general problem in S-A, not something the staff at Agterplaas is to blame for.

I would love to come back!

The staff is absolutely wonderful! I felt so taken care of. I had a nice room with everything I needed. They have really thought about the details. Its also quiet, I slept very well. The breakfast is the best, so much to choose from and all delicious! Beautiful view and lots of space to sit and enjoy (or work) both inside and especially outside.

Absolutely everything. This place is truly wonderful. Delightful, happy staff, fantastic breakfast, secure, interesting neighborhood and bars and restaurants in easy safe walking distance, great room, great price, wifi was strong. Couldn't have been happier.
