Value for money with staff who care

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to look after you. Tom on reception was excellent at helping me sort a work issue with my printer. Sent me for breakfast whilst he dealt with it. Thanks again Tom you took all the stress out of a difficult situation for me.

Super happy with our stay at The Bowburn Hotel.

Great location to get to Beyoncé concert at Stadium of Light. Great staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Locally sourced produce. Lovely grounds. Great value for money.

Was dirt mark on the carpet outside bathroom Would be better if there were plug sockets and bedside tables on either side of the bed.

Lovely and friendly visit- really nice and clean rooms. Would deft like to come back.

The staff are super lovely and welcoming! The location was perfect for us to watch a show at Sunderland stadium and then venture into Newcastle. Rooms are really clean and lovely. would definitely recommend.

property was clean and tidy, rooms were well kept with a good selection of tea and coffee. The food in the restaurant was excellent and was equalled by the fabulous staff - friendly and helpful.

walls were paper thin. could hear next rooms breathing. bed was like a rock and far too small. fire alarms testing at 7am then again 7:30 am

Stunning rooms but needs some plumbing improvements

Gorgeous hotel and bedrooms

The water pressure let the amazing room down. The stunning feature bath took an hour to fill and the shower was just a trickle of water.

Exceeded my expectations and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent value for money. Comfortable and nicely decorated - both room and public areas (bar and restaurant). Outstanding food both at dinner and breakfast at a very reasonable price. Staff were delightful! Very convenient location - just off A1 and close to Durham City. restaurant has parking - something which is in short supply in durham

water pressure in shower could have been better - but I'm being picky.

The Staff were friendly and helpful and cheerful. The food was outstanding with a very good selection. The room was clean and tidy and a comfortable bed. We will definitely return.

Clean, traditional hotel with exceptional staff and food.

The restaurant food and service was exceptional, and I mean exceptional, and the breakfast item choices varied and very very good in a lovely serene well presented conservatory area which was beautifully presented and a nice temperature despite it being cold outside. Highly recommend this place.

That I don't live there and those people aren't my house staff.

Adequate for a one-night stop but wouldn't want to stay longer.

The room was a small single with an unconventional layout which made it feel slightly claustrophobic. It was also stuffy to sleep in but the presence of a wasp/mason bee nest in the eaves discouraged leaving the window open. On the plus side the furnishings were in good order and clean, and the bed was comfy so I slept reasonably well.

Bar and restaurant was rather scruffy; seats/carpets were stained and dirty.
