Good location

Breakfast was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The shower was good. The laundry was a bonus too. Very helpful staff.

Room view and staff was good

The hotel should be rated as 3 stars and not 4 The room interior is not a 4 star level. And not a good value for money. The paid parking is very tiny and it’s complicated to get it in and out Also my room wasn’t cleaned for my entire stay

The location! It’s very central and in the middle of town!

Guess the bed was to springy for my taste, however that’s personal. And the noice from student across the road could be a downside for some 😃

Wonderful! Warm, comfortable, well located, welcoming, friendly, fantastic food, exceptional.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Merylin was exceptional! Food was so tasty and delicious, especially the "home-grown" main dish in being vegetarian. I really liked the bread and butter pudding too. Is one that brings memories for many people, but with an exceptional contrast between soft and crunchy, sweet and plain. I also liked the range of breakfast foods available. All food were cooked to perfeaction. I sat looking out at the lights of Dunedin in eating my evening meal and in the morning, by the fire, watching TV. Lovely ambience. I was surprised to have such a large room with shair and table and computer desk unde the TV. Bathroom and evey part of the room was beautifully cleaned and the shpwer temperature and pressure very good. The bed had a greta variety of types of pillows that not many hotels offer. The beds was very comfortable. My room was just near the elevator, in being vey accessible, it was still quiet. Was a good vaiety of TV channels available, with options to access Netflix, Prime etc. Big screen with wuiet settings was good. Staff assistance in using the elevator was appreciated. Having basement garaging was a bonus and I much appreciated being able to leave my car after check out time in having a meeting up the road from the hotel. Staff could not have been more obliging and helpful and friendly! These ranged from reception, restaurant, to cleaning and general workers in the hotel. I so appreciated this as I was on my own and going through a difficult time as to why I was in Dunedin. You made difference, thank you!! I would definitely recommend the Scenic to people.

Nothing, it was all good. I would find it hard to say what could really be imporved upon.

Pleasant and affordable stay - better management or supervision needed to elevate the standards across the board.

Central location, convenient parking, large room. Nicely refurbished with convenient sockets etc. Good food and fast room service.

Erratic level of cleaning, room didn’t seem to be vacuumed when we first arrived. Toilets were very clean however. Beds weren’t always dressed properly (sheets not tucked in one day). On our last day the cleaner left a dirty microfiber cloth on the bench. One lightbulb gone in ceiling. Staff not very well presented. The smart TV was not connected to wifi so couldn’t be used to stream or cast to, even though it looked brand new. More variety needed on room service menu.

Good location, really nice and beautiful housekeeper, unfortunately didn't ask her name. I think she should work in the reception. Did good job. Average cooked breakfast, but great service and staffs.

Prepay the breakfast, but staff could not find in system, I have to wait outside and show bank statements, no diner, no car park, even you would like to pay. Really noisy freezer in room. No Netflix and sky sports. 4 peoples room, but only 2 chairs. You have to sit in bed.

room was not cleaned properly even after telling the hotel reception it was not up to standard. a hoover was obviously used as there were marks from it but it did not line it could suck any dirt up. the desk was also dirty and needed a thorough clean. I used the gym and again it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned.

Brilliant stay

The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The room was spacious, and the room service food was excellent (nice and hot)
