Felt like a private room in a hostel - ick.

Staff were lovely at check in (at sister hotel), called to see if room was ready early for us.

To call the room Spartan would be putting it lightly - a very small room with twin beds on wheels that kept moving around, we had to prop one with a heavy bag, a pokey little bathroom and small balcony. The shower was so small I had to shave my legs outside it - and the nozzle was spraying everywhere and there was no room to bend over! There was also a weird smell - my friend thought it was male cologne, I think it may have been the cleaning products that are used? But it was quite off putting and we had to sleep with the balcony door open to air it out. Overall it felt like a cheap private room in a hostel - not a hotel.

The place was confortable and met my needs, but service could be better.

The room was basic, but clean and conformable, so just what I needed for a couple of nights. The location is great, with plenty of cafes near by and a pleasant 25 minute walk to the CBD.

The check-in procedure was not so convenient. There is no reception at Majestic Minima, so you need to check in at another one of their hotels around the corner. That's OK, but it closes around 9.50 or 10.00 pm in which case you need check in at a different location further away. Because I had a late flight I arrived around 9.50pm and there was miscommunication between staff at the two hotels where you check in, such that I had go back and forth between them, adding extra time and taxi charges, which as a bit of a pain. Also, the door to the room was wonky and hard to open.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to travelers, very happy

Very clean-and the fragrance divine!!! Nice part of town, convenient to zoo, stores nearby

The only problem is for me-and I shouldn’t say it either because I really liked it too- the fragrance was a little strong at times. Dropping off keys to the main building from Melbourne street. Could a box be at the other property?

Lovely art accommodation in a good location close to good food.

Smooth check in at the Tynte Street reception. Location was excellent - good food options very close by. The art theme gives the facility a unique feel.

Television sound played up at times - coming off mute. A little tight on floor space to stretch out. Nothing else.

Loved the style of the room with the wall art. Very clean room, and the private car park was super handy!

Beds were a little hard, we asked for a large double bed but it was two singles put together so they kept moving apart during the night.

Decorated shoe box

Price was reasonable parking easy once checked in and paid $15 on top of room fee. Room very clean. Location for eating out very convenient.

The checking in process complicated did 3 laps of the streets trying to work out which establishment to check in with at what time. The room was a shoe box. Air-conditioning sounded like a street sweeper by the bed all night. Might be due to the cement outside deck very closed in high sides amplifying the sound. Then the shower sprayed from about 6 feet up all over you no option but drown under the flow. All so tiny and no room to move out of the water spray... was a joke 🙄 But bed was comfy ...

The shower was horrible, made a mess of the bathroom and literally no matter where I stood it just sprayed directly in my face or down the shower glass. head is not suitable for the shower space. There is also a gap in the glass like 1/2 an inch and it was just streaming cold air from outside in all night.

Still a great motel but now let down by price, no Wi-Fi and insufficient room service

Great location - small but comfortable and practical rooms. Fun art. Good parking facilities.

Unfortunately in the last 12 months it went from $130 to $200 per night and that's just not acceptable. The Wi-Fi hasn't been working for over a year and room service only made the bed but didn't vacuum or cleaned the used glasses for four days! If you're charging that kind of money, more is expected!

Our room wasn't made up for a twin when we arrived that may have not been their fault. Rooms are very small, but I expected that. They had washing machine facilities, I wasn't expecting to use those, but did in the end, about.

close proximity to restaurants, cafes, city and public transport

tiny room which wouldn’t usually bother us but there was no wifi as it was out of service for our entire stay. The air conditioning in our room was so ineffective we were unable to sleep because the room was so hot. Room did not get serviced/made up on our second day.
