A pleasant stay, but expensive for the quality of room.

Across the road from the pier, not far from the lanes..

The shower head needs fixing/replacing.. Window very unsafe as on third floor. It needs securing, or some sort of locking system.. Quite a lot of loud music, around and about..

Icy interactions because we looked too straight

Excellent location A lovely bar attached A nice reception person when leaving (not the one on arrival)

The frosty interactions with the manager behind the desk on arrival e.g. we arrived 50 mins early ‘come back at 2’ he said very bluntly . No hi how are you or anything friendly which we later saw he was capable of doing with a hot male on his own. We were then given the absolute worst room in spite of paying extra for a sea view. He said ‘it’s a party town , what do you expect’. A random guy walked in the room and he said: ‘it’s ok he works here’. I said it’s not ok and he moved us up to a higher floor. Luckily it was not a vibrating room but it was super dirty with rotten wood and definitely not worth the money. I’m pretty sure you don’t want to read or publish this. Therefore I want your takeaway to be that just because a man and woman don’t present as a gay couple doesn’t mean they don’t belong within the LGBTQ+ community and it’s not ok to treat people like this. Also, you deliberately kept giving second cards that didn’t work and tried to make out it was our problem?! Come on!

Though expected, noisy club/bar next door. However, hotel provided ear plugs.

Adequate for my purposes and a reasonable price

Good for money. Modest hotel with no frills, no food. But clean and comfortable with friendly staff

Clean and well placed, very noisy. Especially if over the bar.

It was clean and the rooms were a good size. It was well placed.

When we booked, there was no information given to us about the entertainment in the bar below. We spent the first night with banging music playing in the room. It was so loud the room vibrated and we couldn’t hear each other talk. This went on until midnight. Not usually a problem but we were very tired. Also not the point. We should have been warned upfront. The next morning we were then woken by scaffolding men at 8am screaming, singing and shouting outside the room. Not exactly a relaxing break. They did move us to the 3rd floor for the next night.

Location of the hotel is ideal as close to Kemptown The Pier and central

No bed change (towels were changed) Noisy but not the hotels fault (ear plugs were provided) Scaffolding was over the balcony and a message should have been sent pre stay

Convenient but basic

Very convenient location but the facilities are very basic and it needs heavily modernising. Front of house staff were very friendly and helpful

the room is quite noisy, not just because there is a club downstairs, but because after they close, the windows, corridors and doors make a lot of noise. they even give you earbuds so you can sleep, because is very annoying

horrendous

The room was very dirty - there were layers of dust and dirt on the bed frames, window ledge in grooves the the wardrobes, The rug had not been hoovered and on the chair next to the kettle there were lots of old coffee granules that had obvioulsy been there for a while. We had room 36. we looked out to the back of the building so no view. The smoke alarm was covered with a bag and the lower window did not open so if there was a fire we would struggle to escape. The TV did not work on arrival and the floor was very creaky . The room was very small with just about enough room for the bed but the bathroom was huge and there was a kettle and plenty of tea etc. It's a shame because the location is good but for 154 pounds a night (in May) I would expect a clean room at least . The hotel needs to take the care it gives in reception to the rooms. I was glad to get out of it and it spoilt our otherwise good weekend. I would recommend staying eslewhere!

It was alright

I liked the staff, the location and the atmosphere. Surprisingly not as noisy I’d imagined which was good!

It would have been nice to have some coffee in the morning , there was only hot chocolate and milk. It was a bit too dusty for my liking. Why were the pillowcases inside out?!

Amsterdam don't stay in the basement rooms

The location is about it really

The room was very dirty, the shower was a trickle and took over 5 mins to warm up. The dials were the wrong way so cold was hot and visa virsa. There was mold on the shower curtain.. Dust everywhere and the list goes on. The noise went in to after 3am with furniture being moved, door cards beeping and slamming we hardly got any sleep. I don't know why it says breakfast times when there is no food

Would book again

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea. We could see the pier. It was amazing. The staff were all super friendly, always asking if everything was OK. The bar was amazing too. Lovely and friendly.

The room itself was small, which wasn't the issue. The bed frame was too big for the mattress and made of solid wood. I spent the entire weekend smashing my legs on the corners. The parking isn't great. We were extremely lucky to find a spot on the side road, but didn't dare move the car during the weekend as we'd never have found another spot. We didn't mind but there is an underground club next door. We could hear the base all night which didn't bother us. The hotel next door has balconies and we were woken by people singing (badly) from their balcony. The Amsterdam hotel doesn't do breakfast. Which is a shame but there are cafes within walking distance.

The cleanliness let it down, but apart from that it was fine for 1 night.

Excellent location. Helpful reception. £8 zone C parking for 24 hrs.

It was comfortable enough. But it wasn't clean to a usual standard. The bathroom was the biggest issue, but also the general cleanliness could have gone up a notch.

A lovely place to stay in Brighton, affordable, clean, friendly staff & close to the action.

I liked the simplicity of the Amsterdam Hotel, yet it offered everything that one would need for a comfortable night's stay. It was also close to town, the Pier and the sea.

I don't have any dislikes at this stage.
