Breakfast was great, lots of selection, and catered for vegan and gluten free, you wasn't rushed, very happy .
We had my sons wedding there on Monday 2nd December, the DJ, Ron, an older gentleman really wasn't very good, he didn't use the playlist, he messed up their first dance, you couldn't understand him, he had the Mike right up against his mouth, his choice of music was not that of the bride and groom. Very disappointing. . The bride was very upset about this. The intenery was not used played one song from the playlist, , would not recommend RON, for a disco DJ ever. The whole day was fabulous, until the DJ , came on, playing 70,s music, which the bride and groom didn't know, when their in there 20s, 30s, I went over to him and asked if he could play some 90,s. He was on his phone at this point and he replied yes. But it was some time before a 90 ,s song was played. Definitely not happy about the dj.

Arrival was shocking, reception couldn't allocate a room on arrival as non were available, when we were finally allocated a room there was an employee fitting out the interior, reception apologised and it took another long wait in the corridor to
allocate a room. This was a dreadful experience on our first visit to this hotel.

food was interesting, although not really what I would call really good.
the dessert was nice but seemed a bit phoned in.
no internet in the room. which was disappointing as it was advertised as free Wi-Fi.
food, although cheap was disappointing, and the selection of beers was quite restricted.
whole place was under construction so there was an eerie mix between modern hallways and seventies style corridors like something from the shining.
the service in the restaurant was slow and I waited for at least 20 minutes for my bill to come once I had finished my meal

The staff were rude, we lasted about a hour then asked for a full refund and left.
The rooms we were given we not fit for use. A wardrobe door wasn't fitted properly. There was no air con in the rooms, when we tried to find out why it didn't work, there was no phone inthe room to speak to reception. To window didn't shut and we were on a main road.
When we arrived and checked in we were sent about 100/150 meters down a corridor to go up so stairts, to the pretty much come back on ourselves to our rooms. When we got to our rooms I noted a door that leads to the stairs situated in the reception lobby. All this with a OAP who was clearly struggling to walk and using a walking stick.
The place was/is under construction and they have clearly done a rush job to get it done for the wedding that was on that day.
When my wife went down to reception, to ask about the air con, she was told it works and she just needed to follow the instructions, which she already had done. After trying a second time my wife went down again (no phone in the room). Maintenance then confirmed the air com hadn't been connected to the rooms we were in yet. It was a hot day on the 28th June 2024.
They couldn't provide fans, they did have one other room which apparently did have air con but we needed two and God only knows what that room would have been like. The manager did offer use a full refund and we could find ourselves somewhere else to stay, this was around 4:30pm. We did manage to find somewhere else, packed up and went to reception to check out and get the refund sorted. I was then told the refund would take around 28 days as we booked via booking.com. I questioned this to which the young girl at reception shrugged her shoulders and said "that's how third parties work".
The service was shocking from start to finish, please stay away from this place.

At time of visit, building work was underway, lots of H&S issues, regarding fire exit on ground floor and fire doors being wedged open - all reported to reception several times and finally duty manager. Eventually, reported to the County Fire Officer.

Full hotel was under construction my room was next to a storage room for the builders tools I could smell smoke and the well of cannabis when I opened my windows as well also there was strange bugs all over the hotel that I had found and out side my room door

Very attentive bar staff and we were given one of the new refurbished rooms which was very. Evening meal break fast were both very good, As the evening meal was included in the DB&B of £150 it good value as the meal would have cost us £ 70. Swimming pool was a good size but facilities needed an update very tired.

The hotel itself was nice. the only problem was with the bedroom, it had an interconnecting door as did the room next door, on arriving late at night the people in the room next to me proceeded to open the door there side and tried to get into my room, as a single lady travelling alone it was quite scary and I reported this to reception on leaving and was told that they will have a word with them

Room was dusty, heating was on, and couldn't be turned off. It said it the room had A/C, it didn't. Bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. "Quiet room" had people talking endlessly at the entrance of the hotel. Pictures didn't match the actual room.

The room had been recently refurbished to an excellent standard. Small touches like proper shower gel and shampoo rather than all in one wall mounted dispensers that are all too common in other, more expensive hotels were appreciated. Iron and ironing board as well as hair dryer available in room. Tea and coffee facilities also good.
I had my evening meal and breakfast at the hotel and both were excellent. Although the menu is limited, the standard of the food exceeded my expectations (The lamb ragu with parpadelle pasta and truffle oil was delicious!)
Other parts of the hotel are in the process of being updated, so I was lucky to get a room in the newer part. Instructions on how to use the air conditioning would have been helpful. I couldn't get it to go lower than 17 degrees. Also, there was no chair in the room which I didn't notice until I went to dry my hair. Not a big problem, and easily rectified.

Close to the Tollgate Business park, quite rooms
In the bathroom I have found some abandoned hair in the bathtube. The tiles are coming down in some places. Renovation needed.

Staff were very good - helpful and obligingly cheerful. Room was clean and well presented if a little tired. Bathroom was spotless, but again a bit tired.
Unfortunately we arrived on a very hot day expecting the room to be air conditioned. The staff were helpful and found us an extra fan but we still had a rather uncomfortable night.
Breakfast on the first day was well presented and well served, but distinctly lukewarm. We pointed this out, and on our second day it was verymuch better.
There was no druaght beer in the bar of any sort - disappointing. Apparently this was to be rectified the following week.

The hitel is being re vamped. We stayed in a nice room was clean tho gs Misti g line fridge and hairdryer as not finished bring re vamped breakfast was hearty and good be better next year when finished it’s renovations I think .

Cleanliness reasonably good. Room spacious and bed comfortable. Excellent breakfast, which was provided sufficiently early for my needs. Conveniently located for my business meeting.
Room somewhat shabby and in need of refurbishment. No chair suitable for comfortably working at desk. No shaver point in bathroom! Overpriced for quality of accommodation provided.

Poor staff attitude. Watching me dragging and struggling with my bags and no help. Went twice to carry my luggage. Asking me to checkout at 11 am by banging my door and through telephone calls. Forced to leave at 11.35 and taught check-out was 12noon.
