Fabulous hotel in panoramic location

Very well maintained superb facilities, panoramic view of the Mersey and Runcorn areas, great pool and spa, very well appointed restaurant and good food

It is a shame. The sleeping issue with the room did rather influence my review.

Room was ok. Food ok.

Room was above a heat exchanger which kept me awake all night pretty much.

Great facilities, comfortable and good for a relaxing stay.

Despite the fact that renovations were taking place, the way that they were being done meant that we were hardly affected. Comfortable spacious room.e Great dinner and breakfast. Leisure facilities excellent. Looking forward to returning when the refurbishment is complete.

Lovely stay

The staff were very welcoming and professional. The hotel was clean and the room was bigger than we expected it would be which was a good surprise. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice. The view outside of the breakfast room was lovely.

One of the lights on the ceiling wasn't working and someone had left a mark on the sofa, but it didn't stop us from enjoying our stay and we would definetly stay again if we are in the area.

Good experience, good hotel to relax, with lots of potential once the renovation is completed

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Room was reasonably spacious and comfortable and there was more than ample space for parking during our visit. The children loved it they didn't want to leave!

There was ONE reception staff that sounded bordered each time we called to make a request or ask a question. The room and facility had seen better days and could do with some urgent upgrade and facelift

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable so had an enjoyable stay at the hotel.

The breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Stayed for 4 nights but each afternoon the key card would not operate and I would have to go back down to reception to get it cleared again...why could it not have been cleared for the four nights running?

First out in noisy room 89, which is near a plant room Showers too hot and couldn't turn down Bath in 1970s colour peach In the middle of nowhere, awkward roads to get to Food not great value, service was excellent though Could do with updating

Good value for money

Basic but had everything we needed. Bed felt small but was comfortable. Breakfast was great and definitely worth including.

Location was a bit out the way and some staff were great, but others more focused on chatting rather than servicing guests who were waiting to check in.

Very handy for what we wanted but air con would have been nice.

Location was fine. Splendid views and local to where we needed to be. Attractive fishpond. Clean. Watching the rabbits on the grass and the birds flying on the thermals.

No lifts. Room was very hot - the towel rail was on when we arrived - 18 deg C when we arrived. Generally a bit faded and dated. But what do you expect for the price. Pink bathroom suite!

Plenty of seating in the lounge area.

Evening meal selection could have been better. It was the same menu every night, not great if you are staying for several nights. Very little tourist information in the foyer. Staff didn’t acknowledge guests when walking past reception.

I would stay again, very good if you want a basic hotel to crash that allows dogs. I would say it’s similar to a travel

The hotel was very good for the dog, had all your basic needs. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, continental side was a bit lacking at breakfast. Pool was good, again just could do with some TLC. Staff where polite.

A bit dated and tired in places. However the view is lovely.

Great location on top of sandstone escarpment. Ideal for trail walkers. Good access to restaurant for wheelchair users.

why close the bar at 10pm?? i arrived about 9.30 after a 21 mile walk and the bar cvlosed whem n 5-6 others were ready for another drink

Very disappointed with an incredibly expensive rundown dirty hotel.

The property was very run down, carpets warn to the floorboards, scuff marks all over the walls. Hallways just looked outright dirty. The bedroom was incredibly hot (outside on the day wasn’t particularly hot) and the radiator in the room was off. so no idea why it was like a furnace. The window opened just a crack but luckily there was a dirty old desk fan to stop me melting into a puddle. The swimming pool was small and dirty. The children’s paddle pool looked green like a fish pond.

Most of the staff where very accommodating and the food was lovely, breakfast and our evening meal. amazing views

Room was dusty especially around the window shelf and the swimming baths felt like it needs a bit of TLC

overall it was a lovely stay and everything was great except the room being far to warm

The hotel was lovely and so was all of the staff and the facilities were great too, will definitely be going back

my sister and I were on the lower ground floor in a twin room and even though it wasn’t a very hot day the room was far to warm and had to sleep with the window wide open and the fan on and it was still far to warm, wouldn’t want to be in this room in the summer months

Nice location and found it quiet and relaxing just need to sort out keeping the breakfasts hot .

The breakfast was of good quality and well presented ,however the plates were cold and the breakfast was all cold so spoilt are experience .
