Lovely pub and room in nice quiet area. Staff were fantastic.

Nice room with excellent bathroom ensuite, staff very friendly and helpful, nice pub breakfast in the morning. Parking right next to the pub which was well kept and seemed safe. Rooms were behind the pub so no noise at all.

Room was quite dark even with lights on and we couldn't work out how to turn the lights up. Floor needed an extra vacuum as there were crumbs under the table.

Comfortable, Clean, Staff who really care about you

From the moment I arrived I knew this was going to be an excellent stay, the lady who checked me in was so positive and chatty and after a long day of travel plus starting my new job it was a welcomed conversation. The room was absolutely lovely and decorated to a high standard, the bed was comfy (and I am very particular about beds!) great shower and bathroom, loved the addition of the fan which was useful as I arrived in a mini heat wave of 23c, the hospitality tray was stocked with quality products and replinshed daily (great cookies!). Due to the age of the building there was little in the way of noise from other guests, the WiFi dropped a couple of times but nothing to warrant complaining about. The area is quiet with a co op about a 5 minute walk away, there’s a park if you want a walk out before or after work etc. Breakfast was of a high standard and delivered with a smile and chat, I had dinner on my first night which was also lovely. Very impressed and greatful for the hospitality at the Green Man and hoping to be back again when I’m needed to work in Harlow. Thank you to everyone 🙂

If I’m being picky I would say the room was a little dark but I soon got used to the warmer bulbs and it really was of no real issue to me.

Lovely pub with rooms that are comfortable cosy and calming. Friendly helpful staff! Beautiful looking pub.

The room was very comfortable and cosy. The decor really lovely and calming in room and bathroom too. Loved the touch of a note welcoming you along with a chocolate. Check inn staff were friendly and helpful.

The outside of building was not that nice looking but inside was beautiful.

Great position, good food but limited choice over my stay of 8 days.

Wifi was a disaster! Logging me out every time I put the phone down! Also not on! requesting personal information just to be able to use it.

Bed mattress was way too soft and affected my back.

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Enough space to move around.

Found the room to be very dark. I know probably bulbs are saving energy. But I like to see what I am doing. Not good for the elderly or people with limited eyesight. More disabled parking would be a bonus.

Excellent location, accomadation and restaurant.

Lovely accommodation, very comfortable double bed, plenty of storage for clothes, really big shower, lovely decor. Had a fan, hairdryer and iron and ironing board. Next door to the pub/ restaurant. Excellent outside dining area too. Friendly helpful staff.

We couldn’t fault it.

Excellent hotel and restaurant, would certainly stay again when in the area

Nice quiet location with ample parking facilities. The staff were welcoming and friendly, whilst the room was a good size, very clean and well decorated, with tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom had a good size walk-in shower, instant hot water, whilst there were nice soft bath sheets. The breakfast was included in the room rate and there was a wide choice available. Equally, the choice and quality of the food in the restaurant in the evening was very good and despite a large number of diners the service was quick and efficient. Would most definitely stay again when in the area.

Super freundliches Personal, sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Sehr liebevolles und gemütliches Ambiente. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und vielfältig. Auch das Bar- und Restaurantangebot war super. Positiv zu bemerken ist die Möglichkeit, den TV mit dem Handy per Bluetooth zu verbinden, um dann Musik hören zu können (Screenmirroring ist ebenfalls möglich). Gerade für junge Leute ist dies ein großer Pluspunkt. Auch das im Zimmer vorhandene Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen sind sehr praktisch und positiv hervorzuheben.

Einzig zu bemängeln war die Parkplatzlaterne, die direkt in das Zimmerfenster gestrahlt hat. Man kann das Fenster zwar mit blickdichten Vorhängen abdunkeln, dann hat man jedoch das Problem, dass sich die Luft im Zimmer stark staut und es recht warm wird. Mit einem einfachen Fensterrollo könnte man dieses Problem leicht beheben.

Slow roast mixed with ski Sunday

Room was exceptionally hot despite it being a lot lower temperature outside, inadequate desk fan that despite being 4 inches from my head was as good as an asthmatic hamster, had to get up at 3am.to take a cold shower. When I left at 5am the outside temperature was around 10-15 degrees lower than the room, I noticed that every single other room had there window open. The shower tray was like glass and I struggled like a giraffe on ice to stay upright. Design over use for the 'headboard' bolsters that are basically to large leatherette slabs that hang on the back of the bed and bang loudly on the wall whenever you move. I can live with the headless rabbit lamps but making my room sound like a knocking shop is a bit much. And to cap it off they don't take cash in the restaurant as its a "thing" they are trialling. Food is usual Green King frozen food tarted up. Staff however were very pleasant and professional. I don't normally leave reviews but for £110 I'd rather have slept somewhere cheaper that doesn't slowly roast you.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms attractive and the hotel situated very conveniently.

The bedrooms were very nice. Lovely decor. The lamps gave it a cute quirky vibe. The ground floor rooms we had made it really convenient to bring our stuff in from the car and to go to the restaurant. Our breakfast was included and restaurant was really nice and pleasant with a decent choice of options. They catered for my daughter who needs gluten free pretty well.

My daughters found the lighting a bit dingy for putting on makeup and getting ready. Apparently it was better in my room so they ended up getting ready in mine. Other thing is the beds were quite hard and the pillows could do with being a bit better as quite uncomfortable. Two of us brought our own pillows but my other daughter said the hotel pillows made it hard to get to sleep.

Staff were terrific once again, from Emily at checkin, to Jenner, Ryan and Nat in the bar area all very helpful and pleasant and professional at the same time.

Comfortable and calming.

Fantastic Room located on the first floor, I did not see any lifts. One of the comfiest beds I have slept on in quite a while, the room was cleaned apart from one day ?? Ensuite bathroom was a real treat with a large walk in shower, sink and toilet, with toiletries supplied for the shower, and hand wash and moisturiser next to the sink. Tea coffee hot chocolate etc provided, Hairdryer Iron and ironing board provided in the room. Also a desk and chair, a open wardrobe with hangers and bedside tables. Breakfast was well cooked ( Full English), and i had a evening meal in the restaurant, and they have certain courses which you can choose from, three courses for £17.99, which were also very good value and well cooked. WI FI i did not use, as i have my own dongle, and the phone signal was very bad in my room, i have voda and EE and i had to go outside to use both. Parking on site with security cameras dotted around, and the accomodation is next to the pub, and very quiet during my stay there. I would go back there again, but the prices fluctuate, so not always affordable in my budget.

While the overall stay at the Green Man was very pleasant, some of the staff were not very well mannered shall we say, but not all only the odd one for some reason, and not just once, but apart from that i would go back again.
