Overall, this was a good choice for a two-night stay and we plan to book it next year.

Breakfast was good. Room was very spacious and clean. We slept well in a comfortable bed. Room was generally quiet though there was a little noise from the corridor at one point.

Room 102: the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work; the water from the hot tap was too hot, almost scalding; the flush on the toilet was inadequate. We felt the menu choices for dinner was uninspiring and we ate elsewhere. The shower (over the bath) could have had a handrail for improved accessibility.

Beautiful place with tranquil views and a relaxing atmosphere.

The quiet spot and the views were amazing.

I wasn't able to open the curtains of an evening or in the mornings unless fully dressed as no other options for privacy, i.e. blinds, net, etc.

Breakfast was disappointing for the high grade of the hotel. Tired cooked breakfast, luke warm, tastless egg and mushrooms. Appallingly dried up stodgy baked beans. Greasy potato croquets. Empty salt seller on table. Asked for a specially cooked egg...well done, not runny. Runny egg arrived. I left. Just an off morning?

Great venue and clubhouse but room did not live up to expectations. Towels had mould stains.

The property appears very grand but unfortunately the room we were allocated did not live up to expectations. The clubhouse was great with good menu choices and stunning views. The food was good.

The quality of the room - 109 - was poor and did not live up to expectations. The towels had mould stains, the carpet had multiple stains and discolouration. It was dated and did not meet expectations. The housekeeping staff were noisy and rude, and we felt under pressure to vacate the room for them to clean it…we asked them to come back in 30 mins when they first knocked…they very reluctantly agreed but stood outside the room chatting.

Staff amazing, building needs a little decoration in main areas but nothing to complain about,

International room so no opening window and ac not running at its best , but once reception knew they put it to maintenance and hopefully fix for the next guest

Very comfortable and peaceful.

Rooms were well laid out and equipped and generous in size. Restaurant was very good.

A little bit out of the way with some of the roads very narrow. Could make it challenging in winter.

Overall it was a quite pleasant experience.

Breakfast - really not much choice. What was served so tasty but for the price I would expect to be able to order from the menu smocked haddock, porridge or something else. The continental breakfast - super poor choice. Only cereal or fruit salad available. There is room for improvement. I also have to mention here that in my opinion you should have more staff on the floor during breakfast service. It really felt like you a super understaffed. Maria was absolutely brilliant. I have to say that! It would be great if she could get more help! There was no one present on the host station.

The facilities in the hotel were excellent, spa and swimming pool were lovely and all included. Staff were all very pleasant. Only disappointment was some of the food in the restaurant wasn’t edible and stocks wee very low. Although breakfast was very good and well supported! 🤗.

A few items in the snack bar/restaurant had ran out. Crisps provided with sandwiches (although Gluten Free) were awful.

Exceptional value, great leisure facilities in a superb location

Location superb, lovely grounds. Liked the ground floor a level below the ground floor

Missed sign for reception and entered via leisure complex. Tricky to work our way through to reception. Couldn’t find the stairs

Great family short break

Great Leisure club, individual lodge for my family to relax. Elemis toiletries.

Cooker instructions were faded and unreadable and need renewing but maintenance came quickly to help decipher them! Pudding flavour was substituted but my guests were only asked if that was ok as the plate was put down. Noisy pumped water system in lodge.

It is quiet and out of town. The room was an interior one so no views. The staff at the front desk were welcoming.

Having booked a table for dinner no one seemed to know what was happening. When the meal came it was fine

Disappointing room was not prepared as a double for 2 people. Lots of up and down stairs to resolve.

Location and staff.

Booked double room and checked in online in advance for two. Room had only one set of pillows on bed, one cup, one set of towels and one glass and one biscuit. Water damage to bottom of bathroom door.

Lovely stay

The staff are very friendly - especially the young lady at reception who was super helpful after we arrived after a 7 hour car journey. Room is very comfortable, breakfast is excellent. Has a nice atmosphere.
