1. Could and should do a lot better.

1. Reception and waitress staff very helpful, friendly and professional. 2. Waitress Jess gave a master class as to how to induct, train, teach hospitality work to a "work experience" youngster - a master class as to how it should be done - I suggest Jess is moved to group training and be considered for "employee of the month" award for the Stone hotel.

1. The central car parking area is full of potholes giving people with walking infirmities ( as is the case with my wife) potential problems as well as potential damage to vehicles. 2. Underwhelming menu in the restaurant & poor value for money. 3. On Tuesday of this week we ate in the hotel's half empty restaurant and had to wait an hour for a simple chicken and vegetable dish - apparently due to the kitchen staff on duty that night having received a preorder for a party of eight guests - and who panicked and lost the plot! The Fox Inn five minutes up the road from the hotel has a good menu, far quicker service and is less then half the price of that charged by the hotel!!! 4. The hotels payment arrangements for evening meals is not explained on arrival at the hotel and is a total nonsense! 5. A wedding reception party near our room (102) was still slamming doors at midnight until a member of staff finally had them quite down! Suggest guests ask that their room is well away from rooms used for corporate and wedding receptions!

Charmante, altenglisches Hotel mit sehr nettem Service

Der altenglische Stil der Unterkunft isst grossartig! Man fühlt sich zurückversetzt und hat doch allen Komfort der modernen Zeit. Wunderschöner Garten, ruhige Zimmer mit extrem komfortablen Betten, ein gutes Frühstück und ein wirklich gutes Restaurant für das Abendsessen!

Eigentlich nichts außer, daß ich in der 2. Nacht Pech hatte, da einige Reisende offensichtlich mit 2 Hunden unterwegs waren, deren Gebell mich immer wieder wach gemacht hat.

Sehr nettes, typisch altenglisches Hotel mit Atmosphäre

Nettes Ambiente, sehr typisch für England! Gutes Restaurant mit einer großen Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten, extrem komfortable Betten, sehr ruhige Zimmer

Lange Wege mit vielen Treppen um zum Zimmer zu gelangen

Very well maintained. Beautiful place. Far bigger than we realised. Lovely rooms. Good food. Very comfortable beds

Very hot in room at night. Had to use the fan despite it being 5 degrees outside. Then fan made it noisy and difficult to sleep. Limited selection hot food at breakfast.

Lovely place for a wedding reception, a little pricey but very beautiful.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, venue was absolutely beautiful. Room was fairly spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had both continental and hot a la carte included, which was nice.

The food was reasonable but not amazing. The evening restaurant was quite expensive for the size of the meals served, not bad but not good value.

As many times before, it was exactly what I needed as a base for a family party and it made me relaxed and comfortable a

Good spacious rooms with nice bathrooms. Relaxing and pretty grounds. Ample parking. It is used as a very popular venue for weddings and the like, so often a lot of people there having fun. I think it gives it a very friendly feeling. Staff are very relaxed, laid back and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and a lovely view from my room.

I don’t think there is anything I didn’t like. I have stayed there before and it’s my favourite hotel in the area. Usually, someone is celebrating something there so the Bar is always lively.

A lovely hotel that I would definitely use again.

A lovely hotel for a relaxing break, but that's not what I was looking for. The location was great, but it was far too expensive for my trip.

The price of the food - fine dining was not what I was looking for.

Staff were very helpful and the Dinner and Breakfast were both first class and delicious

The Bedroom was very nice, clean, comfy, good facilities, overlooking garden.... but unfortunately also overlooking beer cellar and for me I found the constant hum during the night from coolers/equipment noisy and had difficulty sleeping....
