Stunning views, location perfect. Hotel is old.

The location is great, just short walk 15mins from town. Close to the train station Grindelward and supermarkets. Views were spectacular from my window and there is a sitting table to enjoy a beer and admire the mountains in the afternoon

The property is actually quite old. I had read this on the comments, but was hopeful the pictures were more realistic. The pillows are as flat as a tack. The upside is the staff are exceptional, always helpful and friendly.

Don’t stay here

The only thing I liked about the property was the food that they serve for breakfast. It was very nice.

They promised we would have a room with two separate beds that was important because it was a man and a woman traveling together that we’re not married instead they did not give us that. And when I complain, they said well you should’ve told us sooner. I wish it wasn’t right.

Im ganzen ist es ein ehrliches Hotel wo ich evt ein zweites mal übernachten könnte.

Zimmer war genügend für eine Nacht ausgestattet, wasserkocher, wasser, Kaffee und Tee. Es wahr sehr angenehm ruhig 😌. Frühstück durften wir am vor Abend ankreuzen was wir gerne hätten. Da wir ausser Saison sind. Personal hatten und schönes frühstücken gedeckt 👍🏼

Zimmer hellhörig nicht auf zimmer nebenan gemeint sondern wenn leute auf dem Balkon eine rauchen gehen das zuschlagen der Tür. Und das kommt nicht einmal vor. Bett 🛌 war für mich ein wenig zu knapp, bin aber kein norm mass mit 1.92m. Die decke fühlte sich wie 20kg auf mir.

Good

The location was good with easy walking to the shops and restaurants. The elevated location gave beautiful views of the area. Checkin was easy and efficient and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good.

We knew that this hotel was an older more traditional style however was a bit disappointed at the cleanliness of the room. There was a strong odour of cigarette smoke in the room and the shower had quite a bit of mould in it - especially the shower curtain. The bed was ok - but probably the least comfortable one we had during our4 week trip.

Staff and food were lovely, everything else was just ok

The location is picturesque and very near to amenities. All staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast had good selection and was nice.

-The location is very steep to get to and although I don’t think this could be helped, maybe a little warning for people with reduced mobility could be provided. -The hotel room was as clean as possible but it was just so old that everything is stained (the bath, the carpets, the bed sheets) which makes everything feels dirty.

Very good

The hotel is obviously old, but it is cozy. We had a balcony with an incredible view to the Eiger, to the village of Grindelwald and to the innumerous waterfalls that surround it. Location is very good, away from the crowds of the center (but still in walking distance) and with a bus stop just 2 min away. Very close as well to the Firstbahn. The hotel has free parking, which is a plus in this village. Breakfast is very good. Finally, the staff were nice.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was ok with a nice view from the balcony. The breakfast was amazing with a great view. Generally, this is very good value for money.

The room was a bit dark, and not much of a soundproofing.

Great value for a good location

This place is as described in the other reviews. Great location, really good breakfast, nice view if you get a balcony room and clean. USB power outlet in room and also an electric kettle. Bathroom has shower gel. Everything is expensive in Switzerland, so as far as price goes, you get good value for money. Free parking as well. Quick walk to many restaurants.

Again, for the price, these are to be expected. Small room, small bathroom. The pillows were probably the worst I've seen in any hotel. I hope they upgrade the pillows so the guests can get good sleep. Everything else is great!

Fantastic stuff, fantastic atmosphere. Breakfast is excellent, better than in many 4 Stars hotels! We are very satisfied. We will definitely come back. Rooms are very warm, exactly what you need after a long day in snow and wind.

Though it was a short stay, it was very nice.

The hotel is located at a quiet place close to the centre, with convenient public transport connection to the ski lifts and trains. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was quite good.

The room was big, cosy and fully equipped. The view from the balcony was exceptional! The breakfast was really good, multiple choice was provided and the dining room was organized nicely with the view on mountains. The hotel was located comfortably right to the bus station which is going to ski resort.
