Beyond all expectations

The location, design, decor, atmosphere, layout, high pool, beach, food and above all the staff

Ein traumhafter Wohlfühlurlaub in einem Top Hotel!!

Die ganze Anlage ist ein Wohlfühlort - die Zimmer sind geräumig, SEHR sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet! Alles im Haus hat Geschmack und Stil! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr asiatisch geprägt (Geschmacksache) - für uns war es manchmal schwierig etwas zu finden … Das Service war in allen Bereichen top - die Bedienung am Pool sehr angenehm! Die Pool und Meerlandschaft super sauber und gepflegt, man sieht auch ständig jemanden säubern und kehren!

Die Lage ist top jedoch alles rundherum seit Corona geschlossen! Man hat keine Möglichkeit irgendetwas zu kaufen (zB Sonnencreme oder eine Ansichtskarte), der Shop im Hotel bietet nichts dergleichen an! Auch wenn man ein abwechslungsreiches Abendessen sucht wird es schwierig - man muss relativ weit fahren um außerhalb etwas zu finden! Das Essen im Hotel top - jedoch zB die Pizza mit knapp 30€ sehr teuer!

We liked literally everything. The perfect location, fully equipped room (even sleepers for the beach), delightful food with the variety of cuisines, helpful staff.

Castaway elegance with charm and style

Exceptional elegant charm with wonderful staff and incredible food - attention to detail - little touches like ice cold towels for all guests even when hotel was really full - nothing was too much trouble . Our luxurious grand viceroy sea view room on the top floor was one of the best hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in

Incredibly accommodating and friendly staffs.

The complimentary massages as soon as we checked in. They also provided us a complimentary room to use their shower facilities because our flight was in the evening.

A must stay hotel in a lifetime!

The colonial hotel is beautiful with its huge pool and private beach. Rooms are spacious, with excellent bedding, and bathroom. Staff is very friendly. There was a concert on the nights of the weekend, very enjoyable.

Food is a bit too expensive (but good quality).

Everything, to be fair. It was a stunning holiday - we were treated so well by staff and the facilities are exceptional. Gorgeous room with huge balcony. Heaven honestly!!

Great place, a little lack of detail for a 5*venue

Great and helpful staff, nice location, great pool.

If you like to compete with a horde of English men stampeding at 6:45 to the pool to reserve a deck chair - then it is the perfect place for you 😂

Wonderful staff, but please buy more Sun loungers!

Staff were wonderful. So was our room. Views over the pool to the beach were gorgeous. Common areas such as the Verandah bar, buffet restaurant, lobby were lovely

Such a shortage of loungers! Even though the hotel was less than half full when we visited, it was very hard to find free loungers by the pool or on the beach. The hotel definitely needs to invest in many more. People stay in a hotel like this to enjoy the pool and beach. This is not possible if you can’t find free loungers. Beach was disappointing as it was impossible to swim at low tide and the water was murky.

Exceptional

Stunning hotel with an amazing, big pool and nice beach. Our room was really spacious and well-appointed with a huge bathroom. Food was good at all the restaurants, particularly the Terrace. Service was great as well. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would come again.

There are not quite enough deck chairs by the pool which means they all get taken quite early in the morning.

All staff attentiveness to our needs are highly exceptional good. They will always tried their best to fulfill our needs. Its so clean in every corner of the hotel.

Room cleaning service, especially on requesting to change the towels. We happen to just come back from breakfast and previously already made a call to request on changing all the towels, but when we came back to use the toilet, they happen to just left, when the towels is being unwrap to use..its still wet in the inner... was suspecting a miss here...so we requested to change another new one again

The hotel was beautiful and truly enjoyable.

The staffs were very helpful. We had an issue with the room but the front desk receptionist, Ms Sudha and Ms Mariko assisted promptly to solve the issue. Another Malay gentleman named Zulkifri (I’m not sure if that’s correct) was also very helpful. He helped to apply ointment on my child. Breakfast, the ambience, the music, the swimming pool were all good and enjoyable.

The management should extend the swimming pool hours to at least 8pm. We were enjoying the sunset at 7.15pm and was told to vacate/leave the pool area because they need to close at 7pm. I believe people go to beach hotels with the intention to enjoy the evening sunset but closing the pool at 7pm defeats the purpose. I’d suggest the management to consider fumigating all the sofas and wooden furnitures periodically. Finally, about 15 feet from the beach shoreline into the sea, the sea bed was kinda mushy and feels like slimy to step on. It sucks your feet down. We don’t know what that was and dare not swim further.

Overall, the hotel is slightly overpriced for what they charged.

I like the breakfast there, there are many choices available for breakfast.

The buffet served was terrible and I did not expect the taste and quality of the buffet are so bad, it is not worth the money spent and I would not recommend the customer to go for the buffet served by the hotel.

Luxurious stay a great 5* resort where nothing is too much to ask for

This was our second visit to Langkawi and our second stay at the Danna, we loved it so much from 2018, that there was only one choice when it came to returning to Langkawi. Staff, facilities, rooms were excellent once again. Would've welcomed an upgrade as we returning customers but maybe next time.

lovely hotel, v relaxing

the pool is amazing and the beach and view gorgeous lovely touches such as birthday treats and cool towels by pool charming and professional staff

if I went again I would book a harbour or beach view room - mountain view rooms get a little noise from the road the food was not for us overall - delicious but no Malaysian food for vegetarians which was a disappointment langkawi seems expensive- I did think the Danna a little overpriced
