Worth every penny!
Absolutely lovely people here, the best staff we maybe ever had in our holidays.
Very clean room, big as well. Everything is just right. We had a very chill vacation here. Picture perfect with beach, swimming pool and the palm trees. Wonderful!
But the people made it for us, thank you all!

Everything about this hotel was amazing and totally exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredible and so welcoming, they ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. The food was exceptional, I would definitely recommend the seafood in particular as it's sourced locally and is delicious. I would also recommend booking a massage as it was very relaxing, as well as a yoga session, which was held with a yoga master on the rooftop of the hotel at sunset - what an experience! The hotel also has a private walkway onto a white sandy beach, which was beautiful. The sea was a little too rough for swimming, however you are able to swim further down the beach if you want to. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, and with only 7 rooms in total, it never felt crowded for busy. In fact, it felt like we'd hired the hotel to ourselves! The rooms were incredibly clean and had great wifi connection. Location wise, Turtle Bay is in a quiet beach front area and is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax, eat amazing food and go for long walks on the beach. There are a couple of places to explore in the local area, for example we went on a boat ride in a natural lagoon which is walking distance away, and is home to different bird species (and crocodiles)! However it's not a bustling town with lots of cafes and restaurants. The nearest town is Mirissa (approx 1 hour car ride away), which has beach bars and cafes along a white sandy beach where you can swim, surf and book snorkeling with turtles and whales. We spent an afternoon here which was amazing, but it was lovely to come back to Turtle Bay and unwind in peaceful luxury.
Can't think of anything negative!

The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive, without being over the top. The facilities were excellent and food was all lovely. Would highly recommend the vegan curry. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beachside hotel with lovely food and a great pool.
Nothing to dislike

Everything!!! The great pool with the view is so nice, the food is really delicious, the staff is so friendly and helpful, the excursions to explore the surroundings (temple Mulkirigala, turtles laying eggs on the beach) with the really nice hybrid car and a very friendly driver, the morning boat trip for bird-watching, the long walks on the lonely beach. This is exactly how holidays should be! We will come back!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is by the beach and good access to it. Views from rooms are excellent. Air con on one of our rooms wasn’t working properly and they were able to do a room change. You have very nice outdoor area to relax.
But far from the town area and glad we had our own car.

Absolutely nothing bar the hotel dog who would run the place better. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in after working in travel strategy and branding for 17 years, and travelling to 42 countries.
The photos are a lie andost of the facilities they claim are untrue.
- the food was awful, I threw it up every single night and survived on crackers bought from the single basic shop in a many mile vicinity.
- the manager attempted to make up for this by offering us a free dinner. It arrived 2 hours late, cold and the medium rare meat tasted like a leather boot. The mashed potato was like power mash. The sri lanka dishes were extremely hot.
- it's neither romantic, or ideal for honeymoons - unless your ideal honeymoon is to have screaming brats splashing you as you try to relax at the side of the pool.
-the rooms are bland, basic, dying plants, no kettle, no slippers, a hairdryer from about 1950 and that's it. the bathroom looks NOTHING like the picture at all.
- the beach outside is unswimmable, littered with dirt, and faeces (animal and I belive human) and sad abused dogs that (understandly) bark at the humans that treat them so cruelly.
- to try and make up for our nightmare stay the manager did nothing other than offer a massage (I couldn't really take given I was throwing up) and a car to the local station after promising to sort and check train times for us. He didn't and made us arrive there 2.5 early, while I was still being sick.
- everything is overpriced as there are absolutely no other options in the area so they know they can scam guests
-they pretend you can get food anytime/any day but this stops at 9. Real room service also doesn't exist.
-after 9 if you have any serious problems you are on your own with a single grunting security guard who refuses to help or respond or contact anyone.
- whether his staff or the men who live directly next door - I found myself being filmed in a bikini. Luckily the dog scared them off.
- the grounds aren't upjept as well as they look in the photos - and are dry and barren
- the cleaner is a creep to women on their own.
- after all this hell we had to spend nearly 500 dollars with zero compensation.

Everything from start to finish was amazing. The staff are so friendly and kind, the food was delicious and very economical (as we're the cocktails!) The infinity pool provides one of the best vistas you'll ever see. The staff here really do go the extra mile, upon checking our we left our suitcase key behind and the team here had it returned to us the next day (a 4hr return trip)!! Honestly our best stop in SriLanka!!

we loved absolutely everything about turtle bay
the staff was very kind and helpful
the place is oasis of peace
we enjoyed view from our room - the garden, the palms, the beach and ocean - amazing
fresh fruit and fresh juice for the breakfast was awesome
the smallest negative was that the local cuisine wasnt the best (maybe our pick wasnt the best)

Excellent set up for a couple for a retreat. Sea and beach was nice, but rough at the time of year we went. The service was very good and friendly.

There are no words to describe how sweet and kind the staff at the property were! They were always available and tried to make us have the best stay ever ! We felt like we were home! The food was also amazing! We wanted to go and try some other restaurants but in the end we ended up eating at the hotel every day cause the food was amazing ( I can recommend the prawns curry)! If you like quite places and just to chill by the pool, that’s the perfect place! There hotel has only 7 rooms so it is never crowded. The sunset from the beach in front of the hotel is breathtaking, also because there’s no one on that beach, so we really appreciated the privacy! we can definitely recommend this place and we will come back for sure!
The only problem is that is impossible to swim in the ocean! The waves are way tooo big, which makes it impossible to go inside the water! So the only option we had was the swimming pool! Also the power went on and off all the time ( at least 4 times a day) so sometimes you couldn’t charge your phone or use the WiFi. But apart from that everything was perfect!

Wonderful location: facing the ocean and an endless, empty beach. Very caring, kind staff, who worked tirelessly to satisfy our every need and wish. Small bay, where the rock boulders created a pool safe from the incoming surf and undertow, suitable for swimming. The food: excellent cook, who turned out fantastic food, the best we've had on Sri Lanka.

The service was impeccable and the staff friendly. Room was spacious, clean and with all amenities you need. Bathroom great. Bed lovely and really large. Pools cleaned extensively every morning and nice - new base lights installed while we were there by Peter, Austrian annual visitor and friend of the owner. Lovely grounds and right on the beach and a short walk over the rocks (easy) to where you can swim safely. Breakfast great and tailored to what you prefer. Fresh fish options for dinner.
Interesting to know how devastating the tsunami was here, and how the hotel used destroyed coconut trees for most flooring and doors...and name rooms after turtle species in the area, including some endangered ones.
Nothing.
It is about what you are looking for. Visitors should know that the place is isolated from much everyday Sri Lankan village buzz, and is not a sea swimming or surfing location. It is an 18 minute walk to a non-hotel restaurant (there are I think three others same style) but it is fabulous for fresh seafood cooking - U-Point. It is shorter via the beach though. The only other easy walking place is the recently rebuilt fisher's port - just 5 minutes away. Otherwise hire tuk tuk or car.

A very cozy and relaxing hotel. Perfect place to just take it easy, swim, walk on the beach, eat good and soak in the sun.
Not a lot to choose from on their drink meny. But it's understandable during these times.

11/10 stars! This place is just absolutely amazing: The rooms as well as the garden are beautiful and really make you feel like you are in a luxury resort! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean and the A/C works perfectly. The view over the sea from the balcony, the restaurant or the pool is beautiful - especially during sunset! The food in the restaurant is also delicious: Breakfast is great with several courses ranging from fruits to eggs to pancakes; lunch and dinner is particularly good for seafood. Everyone working at the hotel is just super sweet, welcoming and kind. We liked it so much that we extended our stay.

Everything was perfect :) Lovely place, very good breakfasts, very clean room, cleaning twice per day. You can see and hear ocean all the time. The hotel's staff is amaizing, makes your stay really special one.
There is no single item that I can complain.

Hotel has private access to the beach and lovely views from the balcony and pool area. The food was amaizing. Eventough there was a shortage on electricity and supply, the chef managed to prepare tastefull meals based on daily fresh fish and vegetable choices.
The access from main road is not easy to reach. Wifi, AC and hot water weren't working full time due to electricity cuts in the country.

Beautiful quiet location away from the dusty hustle and bustle. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
There is nothing not to like. The menu was a little limited but expected given the difficulties the country are currently facing.

Our stay in Turtle Bay was just perfect! Each room has a stunning view of the swimming pool and the ocean. The staff was really friendly, they arranged a lovely dinner and a surprise for my birthday. They also have gluten-free options of the foods.
We would love to definitely come back!

The view is everything. Very nice staff, compared to other places in Sri Lanka average food, but worth seeing and staying for some time!
