Not cozy and overpriced - paid €220 for single stay. Perhaps there are better rooms, but from €350

breakfast was good, with nice view

very long corridors, my room had very high ceilings, 2 windows but still no chance to look anywhere. Not cozy and overpriced

A beautiful hotel, great location and friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel and in a great location with views across the marina. Room was very comfortable, clean and airy with aircon as an option. Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you.

It would be great to have a bigger outside pool however the indoor pool is quiet and bigger and the beaches are very close by.

Beautiful hotel in fabulous location with fantastic breakfast

Fantastic location, only 5 mins walk to the marina and old town centre of Cascais. Beautifully converted castle hotel, the views at breakfast on the terrace are fabulous.

Small outdoor pool. The pool bar was closed, so I ordered drinks to the pool over the phone and the hotel charged room service. Room was not cleaned each day of our stay, despite repeatedly asking for house keeping to service the room.

Gostei de tudo, com destaque para a cordialidade e profissionalismo da Catarina Machado ( Guest Service) e a prestatividade do Antônio. Quarto muito confortável e excelentes café da manhã e localização.

Uma experiência que poderia ser melhor

Boa Localização, boa roupa de cama. Arrumos do quarto. Tamanho do quarto. Bom café da manhã.

Toalhas de banho velhas e puidas. Travesseiros com mau cheiro. A cortina do quarto não veda a claridade totalmente. Casa de banho não possui ducha higiênica ou bidê. A falta de um bar próximo a piscina descoberta.

O ponto forte é a localização

Da localização e do variedade e da vista do café da manhã

O local do chuveiro é super perigoso, principalmente pra idosos e crianças. O checkin e o checkout bem demorados. Cobraram tarifas maiores do que o valor da minha reserva no booking, mas eu tinha o valor e corrigiram. Cobram 8 euros pelo serviço de quarto e o estacionamento 20 euros a diária. Não tem o cuidado com o hóspede de um hotel 5 estrelas.

A Localização é boa o Local é bonito, funcionários simpaticos no pequeno almoço, na recepção mal preparados para poderem lidar com este tipo de situações infelizmente, mas cumpriram o melhor que sabiam, na sua função foram simpáticos também. O restaurante em frente reservado por eles foi bom em geral.

Infelizmente O quarto alocado para duas noites reservado com antecedência não estava em condições, o cheiro a Mofo era horrivel, mas sendo já tarde mesmo assim passamos a primeira noite mas impossível passar outra, pela manhã pedimos para mudar de quarto e o que nos apresentaram foi um quarto no final do hotel, com uma janela minuscula e muito abaixo do que contratamos em termos de condições ou seja quer em dimensões quer em carateristicas, quando regressamos à recepção pedi que fizessem o check out para pagar e mudar de hotel, ao que ainda me ofereceram um terceiro quarto idêntico! Hotel cheio para a passagem de ano seria impossível ter algo em condições mas não justifica não terem acautelado as condições do quarto inicialmente contratado! Paguei a noite anterior e o parque e fiz o check out sem que houvesse alguem responsavel Gerente ou Director que tivesse vindo falar connosco e pelo menos deixar um pedido de desculpa, 235.00€ noite para dormir na casa da Trisavó com cheiro a Mofo só pode ser Gozo! Mudamos para o Intercontinental estoril onde o Serviço foi do melhor que já vimos! Há males que vem por bem!

Beautiful but underwhelming

Phenomenal location. Gorgeous lobby.

Staff is slow. Check in was not ready on time. Waited almost an hour. Drinks from the bar took over an hour. Generally slow service.

Superb

The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special with treats in the room on a couple of occasions. Fantastic location and a truly unique experience staying in an old fortress with great facilities and breakfast - highly recommend!

Air con in room 212 didn’t work and next time ask to empty mini bar before arrival as kept getting charged for stuff never had and our friends in 263 had same issue .. not good that

Staff very polite but the facility in general was underwhelming for the price that was paid.

The cleanliness of the property was very impressive and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was also a highlight.

For the price that was paid the facilities were very underwhelming including the ‘modern gym’ which was so small that it could only hold 2 people maximum. As well as the very small outdoor pool.

For this money not worth

Clean, welcome drink in a room after checking

Room was near with a restaurant, every morning woke up from plate sounds and people talks. Tried to book spa, did not happen. Staff in reception was sending us to make booking to the spa (and noone was there to do it), and then they couldn’t reach them either over the phone. Payment for stay was taken twice. It was reserved first time during checking, and then taken from an account after check up. First sum which was reserved on account still waiting to be returned, not returned yet

Overall our stay was excellent and we would definitely stay again.

The hotel is located on the waterfront, ideally situated for a short walk to the marina, restaurants, shops or beach. Our room was comfortable and provided the comforts needed for our short break, if we stayed longer I would like a balcony. The breakfast was great, providing a wide variety of options and certainly satisfying us ready for the day ahead.

We found it frustrating that the hotel bar was closed one evening with no notice or signage indicating such. We eventually approached Reception who suggested we use the restaurant facility across the courtyard. The evening did not really improve once in the restaurant, with the service slow and the standard not matching the rest of the hotel.

Passable

The bed was comfortable. The nespresso machine in the room was appreciated.

The hotel is quite outdated. My husband ate salmon filet from the breakfast buffet and got food Poisoned the next day. The bathroom tiles are like faded and there was ants all over the room at all times.

The hotel and amenities are nice. Good breakfast and great service by the staff. Location is also perfect for exploring Cascais or going to the beach.

While the hotel is very upgraded and nice, the rooms are not ( at least mine wasn't). Pieces of the furniture were coming apart and there was rust on the bathroom fixtures.

Superb

This place is amazing because of the history, breakfast is pretty good.

I’ve expected more from spa. Hamam wasn’t working, there was really not much place, all was occupied. also it was cold in the room and it was impossible to make it warmer.

Fantastic

Breakfast was a brilliant variety. Staff were so professional, welcoming and helpful. Kept very clean. Food was delicious. Wine was delicious. Very interesting building and very good massage in spa.

Indoor pool was cold in February. Outdoor pool is not available at this time of year. The bathroom drains got very smelly after a couple of days but the team were very quick and responsive in sorting this.

Exceptional

The location was perfect! Close to all the restaurants, shops and the hub of Cascais. However, behind the fort walls, it was super peaceful and quiet. We got a great sleep. Bonus: the beds were super comfortable. The staff was amazing! Super friendly and accomodating.
