A gem! Such a peaceful and extremely friendly place with amazing food!
This place is with the kindest people we met in the world. They are sweet, their hospitality is beyond words and there food is one of the best we have had… ever! Highly recommended everyone who is looking for a peaceful friendly place with amazing food to book this. You immediately feel home and relaxt, many thanks to the owners who made us feel at home and relaxt. The private onsen is a bonus in particular when you are a couple. Car is helpful to do day trips.

The most relaxing stay we had in our 2 week Japan trip. Food and Onsen outstanding.
The breakfast was traditional Japanese and very special. Every dish served and presented perfectly. This was my favourite breakfast by far over all my stays in Japan.
Nothing could have been better.

Excellent cuisine and warm hospitality, with private onsen!
Comfortable spacious rooms, with beautiful onsen (especially the ones outdoors). But what made our stay exceptional was the staff and cuisine. We were among the first tourists back to Japan. The chef took the time to explain and illustrate all of the dishes she made— in English! The dinner was excellent. Our waitress, greeter, and excellent English speaker Shiori, was kind and warm and welcoming. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.
The outside is deceiving; inside a beautiful world awaits you.

Spectacular Onsen experience.
Heating system was very good in while place. Onsen was spectacular, especially the outdoor ones. Would love to go there again. Dinner and breakfast was also very nice. Staff was friendly, the owner offered to pick us up at the bus station and next day dropped us off at the ropeway. Great service ! All onsens were private :) The view and nature was very nice when I stayed in winter.

Amazing mountain retreat
Very nice staff. Amazing and varied food. The indoor baths are very comfortable and the outdoor baths are an experience you cannot miss. Every one of the six baths is private, of which two have space for two people and four space for four (so great for couples and families). Rooms are warm and beds are comfy. There is enough space to relax and cool down after a hot bath. The check-in and check-out process is as simple as it goes. Mr. and Mrs. Minoura are always available if you have any troubles or questions. They even drove me and my partner up from the nearest bus stop and back down again. It's easily accessible from Takayama using the Nohi Bus on the Shinhotaka Line. Come here if you need a night or two to turn off and recharge.
Nothing.
