Great view lovely location and overall happy with the property and staffs

Comfortable bed and safe updated doors, great staffs esp breakfast servers polite and genuine people

Needs cleaning as dusty room and carpets needs good clean and wall paper replaced

Beautiful location - but the hotel needs a lot of updating and some TLC!

Clean bedding and towels, and a beautiful location if you had a room with a view at the front of the hotel. The breakfast menu had a good selection. Large garden at front very tidy.

The room was extremely dated and depressing with the floor dipping in places. Noise from the rooms above was horrendous so don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep! Everywhere creaks ! Also no shower gel etc in the very small bathroom which would have expected given the price. Shower fitting was also hanging off the wall.

We got what we paid for. Lovely stay.

Location was great, Staff were lovely and always available to help out with anything. Jesus and Maron were really helpful at breakfast and loved our little girl who's a toddler. Thanks guys. 😊 oh and the breakfast was lovely. Really enjoyed it. There was night entertainment on and that was nice but mostly for people who are 60+ but it's still nice for a quiet night away. We will be back.

The rooms could do with a decorate as it's outdated but that's about it as they were very clean, comfortable and we had a great sleep.

An excellent stay with great staff, well done The Selborne Team.

The staff were excellent, allowed to check in a little early on arrival, room was very clean inclding bedding and towels, Bar Staff were great and played well with the Bingo, yes Bingo, just a little before the nights entertainment the Barman called the Bingo with a little cheek and was funny with it, the entertainment was by a duo called 'Accoustic Sounds' who were excellent and played to the crowd brilliantly with old and new music, breakfast menu catered for all and the waiting staff were very attentive, had a fantastic night there and would recommend to all.

There is not much to fault this Hotel, maybe the size of the room but as a Hotel standing for many years this could be expected but with no detrimental effect on our stay.

Superb

Arrived early and staff were happy to look after our case as we went exploring Dunoon. Staff were warm and friendly throughout our trip. There was a couple of bus tours there and there was a half price bar with entertainment. Rooms are a little dated but then it is an older hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and had lots of options.

At breakfast we were seated at the window. Unfortunately there were four elderly people either side from bus tour who were a bit hard of hearing so we're quite loud. Maybe seating solo travelers on the edge of dining room may be a good idea.

Awful night, will not be back

Location, sea view, free parking, friendly staff at reception desk. Very comfy bed.

Hotel caters for coach-tours, if you want a quiet, restful night, this isn't the place for you. Wafer-thin walls, creaky floorboards overall the whole hotel, we heard every step and every drop of pee of the people staying above us, like they were in our own room. We got a room right above the function room (110) and our TV was drowned by loudspeaker bingo-games and live music. We ended up going down to our car and park by the sea from 8 till 10.30pm just to get away from the noise. Back in the hotel we were literally considering checking out at 12.30 at night and sleeping in our car due to the lack of sound proofing - guy next door snored so loud we couldn't get to sleep! Bathroom being tiny isn't even worth mentioning next to the disruption of all the noise throughout the evening and night. We are not people who whinge over dated furniture, etc, we like old hotels but we will certainly not going to come back here.

we were greeted by friendly staff, but were shocked at hiw dated the hotel was. especially for price. we were only there

location, lovely veiws.

its very dated! noisy floor boards so we were woken in the night several times with people above moving about. we were the youngest group there so felt a little out of place, its a shame as with a revamp it could attract younger families to. breakfast was average to.

Worth the money

Friendly staff ,nice clean room,bed comfortable, breakfast was good, price very good well worth the money.

Car park was hit and miss,if you found a place and went out no where to park when you came back had to park on the road but would stay again 😃

Faded glory

Comfortable room....except the pillows! Tea/coffee making facilities. Nice lounge areas looking out to the water.

Good hotel which could be even better.

Staff were excellent. Good bed. Powerful shower. Good location with great views.

So much more could be made of the outside areas to the front of the property. The garden is very poorly maintained ( the pond? was full of weeds) with uncomfortable bench type seating. People do like to sit outside in warm weather especially with such fantastic views. Access to the entire 50 metre upper and lower terrace is via a single fire escape door making taking drinks outside a challenge. We were there for two very warm days and the bar opened at 5.30pm with nowhere else other than the town centre ( or nearby other hotels!) to buy even soft drinks. Have a look at the Esplanade Hotel further along the sea front as to how the outside areas might be made into an attractive feature rather than an neglected eye sore.

Stunning sea views

Location was great just a short 10 to 15 minute stroll along the shore front into town center. Plenty of shops a places to eat as well as a castle and gardens. Staff at hotel very friendly and helpfull. room was clean and comfortable with stunning sea views well worth the money

Food in restaurants is a set price menu deal at £12 for three courses. So understandable quality is a little poor.
