A proper home from home hotel, if you're in the area you must stay here!

The hotel is located on the Scenic Burren route and is in a nice quiet location. The whole place is really quirky, with a lovely authentic style, from the natural spring running through the hotel from which you can fill up your water bottle, to the 2 rooms available to relax in, and the beautifully laid out dining room for breakfast. The owners, Maria and Wolfgang were welcoming and helpful, and as we arrived on a cold wet summers evening, even lit the fire in one of the rooms we were sitting in. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available to help yourself to in the dining area and it was the perfect place to sit and read with a cup of tea, and even play a game of chess with another 5 year old guest! Breakfast was delicious, with hot foot cooked to perfection and the buffet continually topped up to look fresh and full. We stayed in several different places on our trip and this was by far the best all round stay, we loved it!

Absolutely nothing! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Eine außergewöhnliche Unterkunft, wir wären gerne länger geblieben. Sehr netter Gastgeber, der die Unterkunft wunderschön eingerichtet hat. Das Frühstück war toll einschließlich Athmosphäre und Frühstücksraum. Wir konnten uns gut in deutsch mit dem gebürtigen Tiroler Gastgeber unterhalten

Cool stone villa just outside town with wonderful views

The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. It really did feel like I was being invited into someone's really nice home (castle?). The breakfast consisted of a cooked meal and a buffet, which was more than I needed, though still very welcomed! The building is just cool, too, and even though it's not a castle it's certainly got that vibe. It's a little ways away from the town, but if you have any form of transportation (including bike, like me) it's not an issue getting back and forth.

That one dang door that slammed if you didn't ease it closed. Otherwise, nothing! I really enjoyed my stay there.

Unique and charming, this will warm your heart and make you want to move to Ireland.

#1 thing we loved the most was Wolfgang. He was such a lovely and unforgettable host. The location is perfect, too. It’s beautiful set of buildings that fit in perfectly in this incredible part of the world. Breakfast and all the extras were delicious and delightful. I wish we could have stayed longer. Goodness, I’m ready to move in permanently. This was a perfect spot.

Brilliant stay in a quirky-vintage country house, will return!

The peacefulness of the area, the fact it was built upon a natural spring. The staff were superb, the breakfast was so tasty! The lounge space was quirky and cozy.

Only thing we both didn't like was the shower. The shower head didn't stay securely attached to the wall. Where it was attached to the wall was awkwardly placed in the bathtub too. It made showering a trickier task than usual, especially while trying to relax. This is the only thing though, all else was great!

The place is unique. There are good nature, Irish design of rooms and hotel, tasty food for breakfast.

Fantastic BNB

I was very happy with my room,a nd the bathroom was fantastic. Wolfgang and Maria were fantastic hosts and also provided me a kettle and a large mug.

I'm not mad about the gravel leading up to The Waters BNB. I wish it was tarmac.

Very pleasant stay with a host who bends over backwards to please

The welcome was very warm and kind. He showed us the different rooms where we could have drinks if we wished or relax as well as a source of water which arrives directly in the establishment. The room was very clean as well as the bathroom. The breakfast was very copious and with fresh products. I recommend and thank our host for his kindness.

The only small reproach I could make would be the shower which had a simple plastic to protect from splashes and was not very pleasant and practical.

Breakfast was fabulous, room was comfortable but it's location in the middle of the Burren was unparalleled. Beautiful setting and warm hospitality, rustic location makes you feel that you are experiencing Ireland as it was meant to be experienced. We are planning our return to Waters House as soon as we can make plans.

A charming guest house experience

The entire experience at the Waters--from check-in to check out--were enjoyable. The owners were friendly and helpful, the grounds and facilities are beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing. The rooms and common spaces are unique and had quite a "charming" feel to them. We would definitely return and we highly recommend it.

Wonderful Gem of a place

The couple that own the place are lovely and obviously so proud of their hotel The breakfast was yummy with lots of options The room was so quirky, huge and fun with a very large bathtub It is like being on a quirky film set, we loved it Wine, beer, whiskey was available whenever you wanted it The fresh-water spring being accessible to guests was a lovely touch The shared areas in the hotel were cosy and inviting Very close to the Burren and cliffs of Moher I would stay here again, loved it!

Breaking from the generic - The Waters is truly a memorable experience.

It is rare to find such a gem. The love and thought that has gone into creating The Waters is palpable from the first moment. Not usual - so don't look for the familiar or standard - but if you open yourself to the occasional eccentricity, you will be overwhelmed by the sheer wonder and thought that has gone into the detail, the warm welcome and the superb breakfast. The Waters will remain with me as a truly delightful memory - long after many others have faded into generic obscurity.

An interesting place to stay.

Great location for the Burren, and only a couple of miles from Ballyvaughan. The Waters Country House is really quirky with an indoor spring, a victorian style study and a comfy sitting room and honesty bar. It has a permanent tea and coffee station, which was much appreciated. I enjoyed chatting to Wolfgang and Maria, the proprietors. The breakfast was excellent. I'd definitey recommend it to others.

I liked it a lot, the bed seemed a bit firm for my taste. The tiling in the shower looked dodgy and needs checking.
