Very comfortable stay in a picturesque and quiet hotel with a great pool for relaxing in.

Everything was on the ground level with an external door which allows you to come and go as you please. Convenient free parking was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a good view of the village castle. Breakfast was good with excellent coffee. We enjoyed the swimming pool which was very private. The hosts Virginie and Eric were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

We would have liked a fridge in the room but the hosts did allow us to put food items in their fridge. For international travellers it would be useful to be provided with a pool towel.

it could not have been better

Idyllic location for cyclists, hikers & history lovers. V welcoming hosts helped us plan our stay.

Breakfast was plentiful with the usual juice, fruit, yoghurt, muesli, bread, cake cheese and meats. All guests, each couple from a different country, ate together at the huge table, and shared their holiday experiences. It was interesting and fun. Stunning room - Veronica. All v impressive.

Perfect hosts

Pascal und Frederique are perfect hosts, the room was charming, clean and spacious, the pool was great to relax after sightseeing. During the delicious breakfast we had inspiring conversations. Thanks a lot for the hospitality!

A perfect romantic getaway.

It was all excellent...the room, the bed, the homemade food, the pool, and of course our hosts. Frederique and Pascal were warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area...a lovely couple.

There was nothing we didn't like, it was all great :-)

Exceptional

A gorgeous, friendly place to stay following a long, hot walk from Sarlat. The rooms were spotless and the couple who hosted us couldn't have been more accommodating. Great restaurant just nearby and a 20 min walk to the river where you can rent a caneo.

Beautiful facilities, great location and outstanding hosts

The breakfast was very good. Each morning a little different but provided individual fruit plates, yoghurt, bread, meats and cheeses, yummy cake freshly made, cereal, and always something new. For example one morning crepes.

5 nights spent in a lovely area with lots of things to see and do.

Frederique and Pascal, our hosts, were very welcoming, friendly and informative about things to do and see in the area. We requested to converse in French and they were patient and extremely helpful with corrections and offering alternative phrases, Nice swimming pool with a view of the local château. We had a private terrace which was nice to sit out on in the afternoon/evening.

There was a kitchen that was for the use of guests, but unfortunately this was closed to us due to the Covid restrictions. Having facilities in the room to make tea/coffee would have been an advantage.

Just very nice and welcoming

La Barde is a bnb at a lovely place surrounded by lovely little dreamy towns. The owners are very friendly and super helpfull with providing tips for activities and restaurants. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, owners make a cake every morning. We even got some cake to go when we went canoeing.

We thought we booked a room with a bathtub, but upon arrival the room with bathtub was allready booked.

A lovely first 3 nights to our holiday in the Dordogne

The breakfast was lovely and we really enjoyed the range of fruit, homemade cake, cheeses and meat.

The main problem was that the Booking.com site described facilities for the room (kitchenette, BBQ, etc) that gave us the impression that it would be possible to prepare small meals for ourselves. That is not permitted at all. This is primarily a lovely Bed and breakfast place and guests are expected to be out during the day and at restaurants in the evening. Once we had understood the misunderstanding, our hosts were most helpful in supporting us to find alternative accommodation that met our needs.

A haven of peace with the swimming pool at 28°c so before breakfast swim was very pleasant.

The location was fantastic; the view of the Castle from the swimming pool was amazing. Frédérique and her husband were very helpful and professional. The breakfast was excellent including home-made carrot cake. There were fresh flowers on the breakfast tables. I also appreciated the fact that Frédérique phoned me to confirm that she had received my voicemail message.

Can't think of anything. Everything was well organized.
