VRBO did nothing for me. I could’ve had just as wonderful vacation going directly with keys vacation. I will never use Vrbo again. You are a waste of money.

House is located few blocks from the beach pathway and dead-end street, so not much traffic. Conveniently located between "downtown" area and historic section of Corolla. Very pleasant bike ride in both directions. House was well equipped in kitchen appliances and cookware and three refrigerators were enough to keep groceries and cook/dine during the days we were not feeling like going out. The only thing that I saw during stays in other houses/areas that I was missing here is the book with previous guests' suggestions on items they enjoyed the most and highly recommended. For someone visiting OBX for the first time it is a very helpful tool that I always use and make sure to leave my notes for the future guests as well.

Awesome property. Brand new build in a quiet neighborhood. About 0.6m from the beach access which was nice. We had 15 people total and fit everyone pretty comfortably. Everything worked from the hot tub to the grill. Only con was the house wasn’t stocked on kitchen supplies (paper towels, soap, water, detergent) but didn’t bother us. Everyone has their own balcony and amenities were great as well. Would come back!

We stayed for five days and four nights. After a last-minute cancellation of a pet sitter, we checked into our house. The next day Kees vacations contacted us concerning our pets. We were immediately transferred to another house that was pet friendly. We enjoyed the beach despite the cold snap in the weather.

Overall, a great stay and a fantastic property.
1st floor master bed had a bed frame issue, and we needed help accessing the televisions that didnt have Roku; Maintenance was fast (within a few hours), knowledgeable, and personable. It was great having the entertainment space on the first floor. The pool table and shuffleboard tables were hits for the family! The pool and hot tub were clean and well-maintained. A beautiful house!

House is great but you should know…
Stayed here for a family reunion of 12 ranging in ages from 11 to 73. The house itself is great. Plenty of bedrooms and bathroom combination to accommodate everyone. Each bedroom has deck access creating great places to be alone and be together. The kitchen is large with a moderate amount of counter space, 2 dishwashers, 2 fridges, microwave, stove, dual oven, and a large sink.
The dining room table is large and there is a nice sitting area in the living room. The back 3rd floor deck is large and a great place to have dinner as the setting sun hits the other side of the house in the evenings.
The pool is a great size and the hot tub is a nice size as well. The pool table is older and a little uneven but works fine. The shuffle board is scratched up but you can still get in a serviceable game. Downstairs near the pool table is another fridge perfect for poolside refreshments.
All the challenges we faced were with linens, housekeeping, and some missing kitchen items. We arrived to a very dirty dining room and living room. It appeared to have been tidied but there were still crumbs on the countertops, on the living room rug, and in between cushions on the couch. Management company was responsive but by that time we had already vacuumed and cleaned it ourselves. 2 of our beds were missing linens and it took 3 days to receive them. This was during a holiday weekend but the first two times we were told they didn’t have any to give us. In every case, the management company was responsive but the issue wasn’t taken care of promptly.
Things you should know:
-Convenient location but in a neighborhood that is still being built. Loud saws and hammering happened outside our door all week
-Great access to beach but no beach chairs, no boogie boards, no beach towels so bring your own.
-bicycles were great but no helmets so bring your own.
-No pizza cutter, coffee grinder, or seafood size or pasta pot.
-Wi-Fi was decent but connecting to smart tv is challenging. In addition the Wi-Fi connection gets kicked off frequently.
-Backyard sprinklers go off at 6:00pm every night which is pretty inconvenient as that is prime time to be outside using the grill and sitting around the pool. Early morning sprinkler schedule would have made more sense.
Overall, was happy with the house but it was the little things that were unexpected.

Great place for large group or family
The house was great. The beach is a short walk away. The house provided boogie boards and bikes. The pool and hot tub were a great way to wind down after going out during the day. Highly recommend!

Stay was okay
Pictures online were deceiving. Pool is smaller then expected. Windows and doors were dirty like they don’t get cleaned. We went to store and bought glass cleaner ourselves and cleaned them. Pool light didn’t work. A lot of wasps around yard area. I wouldn’t stay here again. Going back to twiddy next year.

Fraternity Trip
My frat brothers and I rented the house to celebrate an anniversary. We enjoyed the home immensely. We cooked, grilled, played pool, etc. The home was 4 minutes away from where we played golf. We are looking to book this property again next year.

Company was great, house not so much
Friends get away for New Year’s holiday. The house was perfect for the number of couples and sleeping arrangements but in arrival the house itself was found to be unclean and unkept. As we began our time there more problems appeared: new microwave didn’t work, older one had broken front glass, kitchen utensils were sparse (cooking and eating). We had to wash dishes in order to have enough for prep and eating. Some pans dirty/rusty.. it was GREAT to have 2 refrigerators in the kitchen! The home was dusty, VERY used uncomfortable furniture in all living areas. One shower drained barely and another shower and the kitchen sink handle was so loose at times you couldn’t turn enough to get hot water (“hot” water, was barely hot anyway). Shower curtains were ?rusty/dirty/old, no aerator on one sink so sprayed everywhere, dingy OLD pillows on the beds but our bed was comfortable. One refrigerator ice maker did not work and under the edge of the refrigerator, there was awful looking red clumps of something stuck to the floor we were unable to remove. The kitchen trash can was filthy with food particles all over it. The list goes on and pictures were taken.
The 800 number was called and a “cleaning crew” was offered on arrival but we had already brought our belongings in the house and did not want to be disturbed by a cleaning which “had just been done” I was told a Kees manager would be calling me as I requested AND I sent an email with the pictures attached. (This was on Tuesday 29th). After NO response I sent another email, with the original one attached, on Jan 1. At that time a manager called me from Kees, was very apologetic, I resent pictures to him, he offered another cleaning....we had already cleaned what the essentials were for our own well-being and we were leaving on Jan 2. He responded that he received the pictures sent on the second email and said he was going to look into all of this and return a call to me with some type of resolution. Have not heard from anyone since hence this public review. The neighborhood was very nice/new. House next to us looked awesome!! Nice walk and access to the beach from the neighborhood, quite, and close to shopping areas.
Like I said, the company (friends) we were blessed with was AWESOME and we made the absolute best of all the issues but the house and service with Kees Rental, not so much.

Thanksgiving Vacation
My family and I decided to start a new Thanksgiving tradition. This was was big enough for all of us (14 people). It was fresh looking, clean, up to date, and the kitchen was fully stocked. Three downsides, the grill was completely nasty so we couldn't use that. However, I emailed the property manager and they had someone come out and clean it within hours. Still didn't use it though. The hot tubed had not been opened in a few months so we decided to pass on that too. The only thing I would suggest is power washing the balconies off the bedrooms and and upperdeck. We enjoyed sitting out there everyday and night but, to look up and see spider webs, insect nests, and other things was not the best. All in all we totally had a ball in this house and plenty of room. I would absolutely stay there again.

Great Family Vacation
Overall the house was sufficient for our family vacation. It was about an 8 minute walk to the beach but that was expected. The size of the house fit our group comfortably but the pictures do make the property look bigger than it actually was. The house wasn’t uncomfortably dirty but there were a few things....the grill was disgusting when we opened it had an old cooked burger still in it and a lot of grime, we did spend time cleaning it. Also there were a lot of dead bugs in the house. One of the children noticed first a cluster over her bunk bed as soon as we got there but also there were a lot over the dining room table. There was also
heavy dust/webbing on the light fixture over the dining room table. It rained several nights we were there and we noticed then many small bugs/gnats coming through the sliding glass door in the kitchen/dining room. The living room, downstairs couches and kitchen chairs by the kitchen island were shabbier than expected. However these negatives did not take away from the overall experience. We still had an amazing time in the house and area, coming from NJ I understand it is a “shore” house & don’t expect perfection but still some things to keep in mind.

House not clean
The inside and outside of the home were not clean. Dead bugs everyplace. The kitchen light over the table has a huge spider nest in it. There are dead bugs on the window sills. The grill is disgusting and unsanitary. We left one day early because our wives couldn’t take it anymore. There is a very strong possibility that we will never rent from Kees again

After the Wedding
We were in Raleigh for a family wedding and then spent the next week at the beach. The house was exactly as depicted in the description and suited our group perfectly. We really enjoyed the pool. The beach was a short walk away, but the trade off of a more quiet location for the house was worth it. We cooked most of our meals at the house and were able to make do with pots and pans available. Daily towel trade-out was great and daily trash pickup kept the house tidy. Two refrigerators and two dish washers was asset to our group. Quick response time when we needed gas tank for the grill.

Very nice property with lots of room for our families. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub .
This is a very nice property with well furnished bedrooms and baths. Everyone enjoyed having their own ample bedroom and bathrooms to clean up after the beach, pool or hot tub. The pool was very nice and clean, the outdoor shower a must.
We had miserable weather, about 5 inches of rain, so roads were flooded and paths to the beach were, as well. The beach access was a little too far for us, but the house itself was lovely.

Very comfortable house with great pool, room for the whole family
This was our first time in Corolla and Gone Coastal worked very well for our family. We had our 5 adult children and spouses plus 4 grandsons <5 years old. We had room for all and particularly enjoyed the swimming pool, game room, and 3 refrigerators. The house was clean and in good shape. We also used the outdoor grill which worked well. We had a little trouble with the DVD player and the cable didn't seem to have a lot of channels but we got by just fine. The kitchen was well used because a different couple made dinner each night. There were some things missing from the kitchen but we made that work too. The large dining table was another plus for us. We spent lots of time at the beach which is not too far away. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk on nice walkways. Even our young grandsons could make the walk the whole way there. The beach is nice and wide and not very crowded at all. Corolla is a little harder to get to, but once you are there it is a little less busy than areas to the south. The house is within 2 miles of a grocery store and less than that to some little shops for ice cream, etc. We really enjoyed our week at Gone Coastal and were blessed with fabulous weather. We had all the comforts of home. The towel service didn't make it to us except on Thursday but it really didn't affect us much. We made good use of the washer and dryer. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Corolla.

Refreshing beach getaway without the hassle of peak season crowds.
This property was a great fit for my 15 person family reunion. Each family was able to have their own rooms and there were plenty of bathrooms throughout the entire house. The living room was a great setup for hanging out while we cooked, and the backyard made for a comforting day in. The grill had a full propane tank, and worked well. The pool needed to have the heater turned on, which took about 24hrs, but after that was very enjoyable. It was a short drive or about a ten minute walk to the beach which was very convenient with all the youngsters. Overall I was extremely satisfied with our stay and would love to come back again!

Great House, a little bit of a hike to the beach!!
Overall this is a great house, well maintained and appeared to be pretty new. The backyard pool and grounds/grassy area and the 5 king beds were a great find. In addition the pool was in the shade after about 4pm, which was also great in the NC July sun. It is a bit of a hike to the beach, I wish that the house provided a large cart to load and lug to the beach. I do realize now that we could have rented one for the week. At the end of the day we ended up driving the stuff to the beach and then doing the 10 minute walk without carrying the heavy items. A few pretty minor items to note with regards to my stay were the fact that n the lower level, where there looks to be a second hook up for a second washer and dryer it makes a constant loud banging noise which I'm sure was an annoyance for those sleeping on the bottom level, the other is the fact that we did end up having to call maintenance for a leak under the kitchen sink, but they were responsive and did have someone come and look at it/fix it the next day and lastly some of the TV remote controls did not have batteries in them. All in all this was a great house.
