Exceptional

Everything about this charming little guesthouse and especially Chea the owner is very sweet and helpful. Walking distance to everywhere.

In the evening the bar opposite the guesthouse plays loud music but I think it stops around midnight.

Great position !

It’s not an Hotel ( and it’s clearly underlighted on booking) so if you need to drop luggagges before check-in time you need connection and chat with the host to arrange these kind of “extra requests” Payment only cash!

Great place to stay, clean comfortable and central!

My room was spacious exceptionally clean, comfortable good aircon also a ceiling fan which for me was great! A little balcony handy to get some fresh air, even though it’s hot! Small bathroom, perfect for me! I was warned it could be noisy, due its location (only a little, not intrusive) but earplugs were provided.😬 Location great, very central for walking and close to bus station. The owner so helpful and accommodating! Advising on where to go and even booking ferries and taxi. Provided plenty of bottled water and even did some washing for me!😊. A traditional building….not a modern ‘plastic room’. A great stay.

Memorable stay in Georgetown!

Good location; not too far away from things but not too close either. Easy walking to everything if it’s not too hot. Of course, as many other reviews have mentioned, Cheah is a great host & person. Very helpful and responsive, thank you!

The owner Cheah gives a lot of information about things to do and see in Georgetown, also there was a water shortage and she updated us right away. Accomodation is basic but very comfortable and it looks really nice!

I loved being in George Town as soon as I walked out my door and a welcoming base.

Great location and wonderfully helpful owner. You can really get to experience George Town by staying in a place like this. H

I loved everything but if you are looking for a five star experience it is not for you.

Perfect place to stay in Georgetown. The host Cheah is incredibly nice, and goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy Penang. Lots of great recommendations and even offered me some of her favourite street food. The rooms are great value, comfortable, the air con works great, and towels were provided. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing! Cheah could not be a better host.

Cheah the host is fantastic - she goes above and beyond to make her guests happy! From doing laundry to giving so many tips on thinks to do, to helping us book ferry tickets - she really cares about her guests!

The room is loud from the street, but Cheah makes this very clear before and after booking so that’s fine. Good to be aware for light sleepers though.

Perfect hospitality in a truly great location.

I stayed with my daughter in the twin room. It's a big, comfortable house (note: this is not a hotel) and Cheah is a fabulous host. We had a supply of drinking water and coffees available to prepare. Cheah shared lots of information about local events and attractions; was always responsive and kind. It's really clean, secure and convenient. I would definitely come back to stay for a longer period and highly recommend this very good base for exploring Georgetown as everything was walkable.

It's not a hotel and there is one ensuite room, but this is all you really need unless you're intending to stay indoors all the time and need the luxuries. Cheah was *always* helpful and made our stay in Penang memorable. I'm definitely planning to come back.

The location was great, 5-10 minute walk from the bus station, but also close to the jetties and street art. The victorian house was beautiful with large rooms with AC. The host was great and gave us a lot of information about places to go. Would highly recommend the place.

really lovely place to stay in Georgetown, perfect location, comfortable and clean room with cute decor, air con and mosquito net. Most of all though Cheah the host was so kind, warm and welcoming, upon arrival gave us tips and a map of the city, helped us out with washing, answered our questions on WhatsApp and when my bag broke was so helpful with solutions! thank you Cheah ! Penang is a great city and it was made even better by staying here.

nice house with a super helpful and friendly host. if the nights get noisy, the offered ear plugs are a huge help.

we had a little extra guest living behind our cupboard :-)

Great stay!

It doesn't look it from the outside, but it's a lovely place to stay. A house with character! Cheah, our host was super helpful and firendly, she gave us lots of advice about what to see and where to eat. Our room and the bathroom were very clean. There is filtered water and tea and coffee for the guestst, you can help yourself whenever you want . Highly recommended!

I looove everything about the stay! Cheah immediately made me feel welcomed upon check in and the room's a lot more spacious than what you see on photos. The en-suite shower is genius and the balcony is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. The location is also central I found myself walking to almost all of the main attractions. Definitely repeating my stay here!

Absolutely wonderful guesthouse

This guesthouse is probably the best we have ever stayed in - and we've stayed in a lot. I absolutely love it, it is well set up, the rooms are beautiful, airy, high ceilings, spacious with air-conditioning and a fan. The bathrooms are simple, very clean, plenty of space and extra sinks. There is communal areas, tea and coffee provided with a hot water machine and a fridge. There are books to browse. Cheah runs this guesthouse, she is so welcoming and friendly, she will not only make you feel very welcome but she has guided us round this whole area with places to go, things to see, food to try, free buses to catch - ideas and suggestions sent via WhatsApp links. We have used her suggestions to eat out, take buses, go out to places - we have had the best time here and at the end of every day, we have had a lovely guesthouse to come back to. We hope to come again to stay and spend more time. Just to add, this guesthouse is in the perfect location for exploring everywhere in Georgetown, so many delicious food places within a couple of minutes walking distance, also museums etc.

Loved everything

It's a beautiful old house and our room was with balcony, which was really nice to have in the evening. Loved everything about this place. Before booking please do note that it's a house in the middle of George Town so there will be noices from the street and restaurants.

Loved everything! Do not book if you expect a quited place. Don't give this place bad reviews for that.
