The room wasn't what was published in the pictures. I talked with the manager and showed him the booking.com app where the pictures of our room didn't appear (the only pictures that appeared where the ones of a better room that had wifi and AC). Our room ididn't have wifi in the room, it didn't have AC, only two fans and it had a mosquito net because most of the walls where opened..
After talking with the manager, we agreed to have one night on the upper class room and one in the lower class room (the originally booked)

Great beach-front location with lovely gardens and pool area, lots of areas to just chill in the grounds, and everything was well maintained. Only a short walk to nearby cafes and restaurants. We had a private fan-cooled cabana room and it was spacious and comfortable with nice attention to detail, considering it was a wooden hut. Enjoyed using the hammock and comfy seats on the balcony. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The room was open-air all around the top - usually fine if you have good mosquito nets. However the cleaners don't tuck in the mosquito net around the double bed in our room when they made it up for our arrival, so I was eaten alive on the first night. We tucked it in all the way round when we first arrived (hard as the net isn't quite big enough for the bed, but doable) but when they made up the room the next day, they left it untucked again. I asked the staff to please let the cleaners know to leave the bed (we don't need it making) when they come in for this very reason, but it was sadly ignored. So I had a few pretty sleepless nights because of this which tainted our stay.
We also had a couple of problems with payment - firstly my card was charged twice for the stay before we arrived, using the details I entered on Booking.com. When I contested this, at first the property claimed that it was legitimate, so I had to insist it was an error to get my money back. Secondly, when we checked out and settled our bill, I noticed on the receipt I'd been charged in GBP rather than in COP - frustratingly I wasn't given the option to pay in pesos, which I always prefer to because I get a much better exchange rate. So we ended up paying 5% more for our bill than we should have. It's not much - but something to be aware of.
Lastly, the restaurant is a bit pricey (35-50 COP for a main dish) - but the food was delicious and given in generous portions at least.

Location is great
Cleanliness was poor.
We found food under our bed and cockroaches floating in the swimming pool. Also a dog was allowed to swim in the swimming pool.
The service in the restaurant was extremely slow and in efficient, it took almost 2 hours to get our lunch s as nd about 1 hour the breakfast.

Great location out to the ocean. Nice to have a restaurant on premises. Outdoor bathroom & showers connected to the hut you sleep in were nice.
Difficult to book a room and then worse to check in. I was literally sitting at the front desk to book a room They told me they had availability but they wouldn't let me book it directly with the hotel sitting at their desk. I had to book with a website called booking.com wait for the confirmation and then show it to the front desk and then they had to wait for the confirmation to come into their computer system and then it took like another 20 minutes to finally get everything registered where they gave me a key to the room and I could leave the office. This is awful. If I didn't need a hotel room quickly I would have found another place to go.

Perfect location, good for a relaxing vacation. Nice staff

Great beach location but Lots of better hostels around in palomino
Dorms are essentially outside with a blanket as the walls. Mosquitos everywhere and lots of sand all over the beds and rooms.
They don't provide drinking water and charge 6000 pesos per refill ( not the 2000 they told me when I refilled).

the location is perfect and the facilities are very clean and beautiful. a good place to relax.
the place(finca escondida) must have a 24/7 update with the reservation application so that there are no payment problems

great location right on the beach. Pool area is quite nice, restaurant / bar is great especially at happy hour during the sunset
we booked a deluxe / superior room but we’re put in a shack with no air conditioning as stated. There was blood on the mosquito net so we asked to move to a more suitable room. The cleaning wasn’t good, the floors were filthy in our room, bathroom very grotty. it’s a shame because the location is really good, we know palomino isn’t overly developed but we expected better than this for this price

The hostel is located directly at the water (without a beach though) and next to a public beach which is pretty empty in the mornings. The dorm room has kind of 'open' walls, which means you can hear the waves during the night and at the same time it cancels out some noises from your dorm neighbours and makes it feel relatively quiet.
The staff was quite inattentive, I had to ask multiple times for the same thing before I got it (my pillow had no pillowcase) and when I asked if they could turn the volume of the blaring pool music a bit down for which the speaker was close to my dorm bed, they said yes, but simply didn't do it. They sell filtered water (that you don't even see the filter system for) from a pitcher for 3k a liter, while coffee is free. Also activities are more expensive if you book with them than if you book in town. They have no vegan options for food and breakfast is 20k. In general I felt like I already paid way to much for a dorm room (99k a night) and although the location and facilities are nice it felt overpriced.

comfortable beds, friendly staff, beachfront, nice pool, easy to organise tours and massage with the reception
a little over priced perhaps

the pool is amazing
only cold water in the shower. sometimes even no water at all. not sure if no water was only at this hotel or all of Palomino

Lovely location, right on the beach. Bar area is a great spot for chilling. Lovely pool.
Music a bit loud on the beach but this is the same at most places in Palomino. Rooms are a bit more basic in construction than other options.

Great location on the beach and with a nice pool. I had some issues with the room I was given but they were resolved helpfully and with professionalism which is always appreciated and meant it didn’t detract from my stay. please note this is more of a hotel than hostel, with lots of couples. fine by me as I wanted to relax with a book on the beach, but be aware if you want to meet people it may not be the best.
Food and drink is a good chunk more expensive than most other places I saw in Palomino which means you are more likely to eat elsewhere.
Also they nickel and dime you a little (for instance, charging a better part of a dollar for a water bottle refill - most places in Colombia give drinking water out for free. also laundry was very expensive ($18 for 3.5 kilos)
