Unique Boat Experience with Friendly Service and Stunning Views, but Parking Is a Bit of a Hassle

Staying on a boat was a unique and enjoyable experience, and the gentle rocking of the boat added to the charm. The owners (and presumably the owner's father) were very friendly and provided excellent service. Breakfast, though modest due to the limited space, was tasty and offered an unforgettable view. Sleeping on the boat was very pleasant, and the children loved it. The location is fantastic for exploring the surrounding area on foot.

Parking is a bit of a walk away from the boat, so it’s necessary to transport your belongings by foot. We had a cart from our beach trip, which made it easier, but otherwise, a wheeled suitcase would be helpful for moving items from the car across the asphalt.

Location, location, location. Very clean rooms, nice view over tha Danube. Quiet and relaxing. Well garnished breakfast. Friendly host, willing to help.

Sve u svemu, dobro je proslo...mora osoblje da podigne nivo usluge, a ne da se svadja sa gostima

Cisto je i uredno. Obzirom da je soba trebala radi prenocista, potpuno su opravdana ocekivanja.

Odnos jednog clana osoblja koji je bio raspolozen za prepirku i svadju. Takodje posluzivo je u bermudama, a to je nedopustiivo. Mojom greskom nisam rezervisao dorucak, a doticni nije hteo da nas dodana listi. Obzirom na ton kojim se obracao meni kao gostu, moze se steci utisak da ga je mrzelo ili namerno nije hteo da nas doda na spisak za dorucak. tim pre sto je dorucak vrlo skroman i potreban je bio minimalan napor da se pripremi za jos tri gosta i, naravno, masno naplati.

Znaci najbolji smjestaj ikad, od sobe do lokacije i osoblja. Najvise bi se zahvalila Ognjenu jer nas je trpio drugu vecer, a onom iz prve veceri kojem sam zaboravila ime isto hvala i pipi patkice 🤣. Preporucam svakome i definitivno se vidimo opet ❤️

Cozy stay, definitely would come back

Clean, warm, close to the city, free parking close by. Key points: the amazing view/location and the great staff. Everyone is friendly, polite and very helpful with everything. Having breakfast by the river makes it also an amazing getaway.

Quirky spot with friendly staff.

Relaxing spot for a drink on terrace. Clean. Friendly staff. Good aircon.

Although we booked without breakfast the selection looked uninspired. Parking was a challenge, particularity road closures due to a car rally. On the river so mosquitos outside.

Staff and waking up in the river.

There wasn't TV in the room. Although verg helpfull statf the brekfast was really poor. Biggest problem is Parking. U have to walk 1.1 km from parking spot to hotel with your luggages. There is no other way. Be aware of this.

An amazing opportunity to stay overnight on the river, close to the city center

A great vibe in the area with boatels next to each other in line on a river, located in a quiet area of the city surrounded by an attractive park. We particularly liked the terrace overlooking the river and the location.

The room booked was supposed to be a double bed with an extra bed. It occured to be 4 single beds instead

Great location next to the Danube. But bring anti mosquito spray if you want to sit outside. Staff very friendly. Bus 15 and 85 go to the city center - it is about 3 stops away.

It was very loud during the night, you could here the disco beats from other locations until early in the morning. However, this is not something the hostel is responsible for.

Relax just outside Belgrade center

There really is a fresh breeze from the river. Very relaxing to look onto the water. Cozy setup with the sun deck outside. Close to a fitness trail just outside. Accommodating, helpful hosts.

Could sweep the terrace better. Its a 45min walk to the center, but I think its worth it.

Close to the city center, lots of busses from/to the airport and cinty center at maximum 5 minutes walk, clean rooms, nice view over the Danube river, super friendly and helpfull staff.

Can be a little noisy during night time due to the club boats nearby, but its not that distrubing, we were able to sleep.

The boat was almost every bit as amazing as we imagined. We had one room for 5 and a double room. The double room was perfect in every respect. Breakfast was nice although it ran a little late. But staff was super friendly and made up for it. We'll definitely come back.

The 5-bed-room was a little small and its bathroom stuffy and smelly. Other than that there really wasn't anything we didn't like. There is no parking close by and you can't even get close with the car, so we had to carry everything from and to a parking lot farther away.

A nice place for what it's asking for

Staff - really nice guys. Communication was clear and enjoyable. Breakfasts are tasty for the given price. Cool view in the morning 2-3 bus stops to city center. Usce mall is nearby.

Main issue is not even an issue if you understand the concept of a boatel. It's an hotel on water. Plenty of insects of different sorts. Rules suggest you don't eat in the room and for a good reason - I've personally killed more than a dozen of ants in the room. Most unpleasant event - on the decking with beach chairs I've found a snake relaxing in the sun. It was not aggressive and it was not venomous, but I'm afraid of snakes, so it still shocked me. Breakfast doesn't have too much variety - eggs/cereal/pastry/sandwiches with sausage/cheese. Though it was satisfying to me, a more picky guest might be a bit disappointed. As it is on water - you do feel swinging from the waves sometimes. But if you don't want that I'm not sure why would you go for a boatel. Though I don't think it's possible to get nausea from this.

We returned to Boatel Charlie after 3 nights in Novi Sad. we greeted with warmth by Jovan which made us feel at home. This same review I posted on google maps. Wonderful views from large open terrace to the left and smaller sheltered terrace in front of boatel. You can feed the resident swan and ducks. It’s very relaxing to watch birds on the Danube.We even saw a beaver from the boatel and a family of 11 ducklings with mama. There is a duck nesting in one of their flower pots! Sunrise and sunset can both be captured from boatel. There is a hotel bar that serves delicious rakija, esp the honey one. The double rooms are small but well designed with cabinets and tables, full length mirror by the door. It was very clean and new looking, with good hot water pressure in shower. Unfortunately you can hear the neighbours talking loudly, hopefully anyone reading this and booking a stay will be considerate after 10pm. Breakfast area is nicely decorated and comfortable and breakfast is pretty good too. Jovan is such a friendly and warm guy who speaks good English. He makes a good cappuccino. My husband and I came back to stay another night after going to Novi Sad on the fast 36 minute train from the New Belgrade train station. It is not near Old Town, you have to take a taxi or walk 40 minutes(?) or take a bus. Moovit will guide you for buses. Yanex app to get a taxi easily without being cheated. Google maps for walking. It’s an interesting walk on both right and left side of boatel along the Danube. It was a 8 minute walk to bus stop to take bus 72 to the airport 1.50€ took 40 minutes as it is a local not express bus. There is an express bus too.

restaurants are a little far away 900 m on a cold windy night.

I wasn't planning to write a review until I interacted with Jovan in the morning of my checkout day. He was warm and friendly, and very helpful despite being busy after breakfast. The boatel was comfortable. There is a good family run Taverna along the Danube 900m away walking towards Belgrade. I hope guests will realise the rooms are not soundproof and will be considerate and not be noisy after midnight.
