Nice place in the Dutch Fort.

Great location in the middle of the historic Dutch Fort, a few steps to most sights. Atmospheric small terrace in front of the room with a view to the street. The room was quite small but comfortable enough and impeccably clean. Efficient AC.

I really enjoyed the stay and would stay again, good value for money, great location and breakfast.

The family are very friendly, as we are vegan they did us a Sri Lankan vegan breakfast which was loads of delicious food, the location is brilliant as it is in the centre of Galle fort and is just a few minutes walk from anywhere on Galle fort.

The only thing i didn't like was that they could have done the bed out like in the photos with the net curtains, but that is it, everything was very good otherwise.

Possibly my worst experience in a hotel, ever, in any country.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

This was one of my worst experiences in a hotel. I have encountered staff that were lazy, unhelpful, rude, unfriendly, etc., but I have never been treated with open hostility. I arrived by train in the morning and just wanted to leave my bag. There was no one there except an elderly man in a sarong. He put me on the phone with a woman who said she was at a meeting. She was FURIOUS at me for arriving so early, as if I have a say in when the trains run. Oddly, after I hung up the old man took me upstairs and opened a room for me. I walked in on an understandably upset man. I apologized, and closed the door. Then the old man took me to a room across the hall, which had two beds. I had not booked two beds. So I redialed the woman I spoke to and she got angry, again, at ME. "You can't have that room! It has two beds!" At this point I considered just finding another hotel but I worried they would charge me. I came back at 11 and the woman told me to come back at 12. I went back at 12 and she said to go back at 2. I went back at 2 and ended up getting in the room at 3:30. This is a tiny guest house and there were no other guests! The room is listed at over 1,000 sq ft lol but in truth it's less than 100. I had to scooch sideways to get between the bed and the wall. There is nowhere to put clothes, so I emptied my backpack onto my bed. I booked the room because I was enticed by the balcony. I envisioned sitting there in the evening and watching the street scene. I had been to Galle before and should have realized I never saw anyone on a balcony. The balcony overlooks the back alley. There is nothing to see. The family kitchen is directly below the guest rooms. I snuck down in the morning to use the family kettle to make coffee, since there were no food or drink options of any kind.

I stayed 3 nights. The breakfasts were excellent, the staff helpful with good advices about what to see and how to travel around. I even got free laundry. The house itself where the family lived was extremely nice and of high quality.

I would come back again!

The location, which is inside the fort and close to everything; the room is a little bit small but verycozy, with a big balcony outside and AC. It was really clean, the owners are very nice and always trying their best and the breakfast was delicious with lot of tasty food.

extremely basic room and house, too small breakfast, not much offered, not sure if worth 5usd. Room was small, so are the beds. Bathroom basic, but with hot water. old and out dated. If you look for charming place to stay in Galle, I would rather recommend looking for other place. Staff rather cold, not much informative or friendly, just proper.

Great location in the old city centre. The family was very friendly and hospitable. They also offered help with our problem, because we accidently took keys from our previous accomodation. The lady offered she will send the keys by post to the owner. We appreciated that very much, thank you once more! Also the breakfast was amazing. Definitely recommended!

A great guest house run by a family of three..Mon Indira, lovely Dilke and her father. The family did all they could have in their capacities to make my stay worthy to remember. The guest house is located in the middle of Dutch Fort with 3mins to Galle Lighthouse and Dutch Museum. The fort walls and boundary are a 10 min walk and all top tourism and activities are housed in a max walk of 5 mins.

Almost nothing....small things which may not be as relevant.

The family are lovely and very welcoming, they recommended a great place for lunch just down the road. The location is perfect amd the room was clean and comfortable with working AC and Wifi. The breakfast was also delicious!

Friendly staff. Food was great. If someone visits, I recommend to try the fish curry there. It is so good. The room was comfortable. The AC is working properly unlike in many other places. Hot water is available and the bathroom is clean.
