Comfortable one night at lovely Inn with great view of river and helpful staff

Great location in centre of Totnes. Good for visiting shops and lovely scenic walk which began just across the road. Very helpful staff showed us the walk which runs along the river climbing as you leave Totnes and returns on a lower path. Allowed to leave car while we walked.

Wonderful stay

The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly, everybody working seemed to know what they were doing and were very kind and considerate which I appreciated very much. Free parking & a short walk into the centre, nice rooms clean and spacious. And again very kind staff! Keep up the good work!

Relaxed, cosy & clean

Cosy, friendly pub & hotel. Superb cooked breakfasts with plenty for vegetarians. I felt very welcome and relaxed as a single (woman) guest. Great range of beers and whiskeys too. Lovely location by the river and a 5 minute walk from the centre.

Cauliflower & sweet potato curry one evening was lacking in both cauliflower and sweet potato and was rather soupy, but it was still tasty and the chocolate & forest fruits bread & butter pudding made up for it.

Great location but just not comfortable

Room was bright and airy but way too noisy both because of passing traffic and squeaky floorboards during night. Staff were friendly.

Food was not very appetising. Bill incorrect by almost £60 due to another guests dinner from the evening before being wrongly added to ours. Quickly corrected when brought to their attention but a major mistake none the less.

Exceptional

The room was excellent, the location was brilliant, however the standout were the staff. Every member of staff we met seemed happy to be there and that came across in their interaction with us as clients. They were helpful and supportive and made our stay there special. Thank you

The food in the restaurant ....... we had one problem with a meal which was handled very well, however the main disappointment was with the evening menu. The menu was limited and the special board did not change during the three days that we were there. A more comprehensive and varied menu would have improved our stay and removed the need to wander into Totnes to find an alternative.

The Steam Packet Inn was perfect stay for our weekend in Totnes.

The room was fantastic - modern and well thought out with lots of added extras. We had a huge, comfortable bed and the bathroom was superb.

we arrived on late Saturday lunchtime and had a wonderful lunch served by friendly staff. our room was lovely, whitewashed and sunny with an exceptional bathroom. it was immaculate. a 5 min walk into town and a lovely position by the river.

2nd visit and fabulous loved it.

Right by the river, fabulous location in Totnes, spotlessly clean and staff are amazing and cannot do enough for you.

No option for light breakfast - £12 whatever you have.

A lovely Inn at a great location and wonderful staff

We arrived earlier than planned however room was ready. Lots of steps up to room which was spacious and comfortable with lovely views . Food at dinner and breakfast was first class. My wife was taken ill so we had to leave earlier than planned. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. Thank you. A great place to stay and we will return.

great location, exceptionally clean, friendly staff, food was top quality, we stayed for 4 nights and also had a table of 8 for new year day lunch, the staff and standard of food was exceptional well done to Josie and her team 😀

Lovely short break place.

Great location on the river. V comfortable bed. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Fresh milk in little fridge on landing for in-room tea making.

Lovely accommodation. I've stayed before and will stay again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant location by the river and near to town centre and station. Lovely big room and bathroom. Good facilities, even unexpected extras like fresh milk and cafetiere's with coffee in the room. Feels luxurious and relaxing.

Lovely position right next to the river, friendly staff and comfortable, spacious room. Free parking right outside, an ideal spot for exploring the area. Tasty breakfast and nice curry in the restaurant too
