Casa Zarela war die gemütlichste Unterkunft auf unserer ganzen Reise durch Nordperu. Ruhige, grosszügige und liebevoll eibgerichtete Zimmer, bequemes Bett. Zarela und ihr Personal sind ausgesprochen herzlich, man fühlt sich wirklich als Gast. Sicherer Parkplatz vor der Tür war auch ein Plus. Wir empfehlen es 100 Prozent.

The perfect base for your stay in Huaraz

La Casa de Zarela was the perfect place to stay in Huaraz. Zarela, the owner, is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about Huaraz and its surroundings, and always ready to provide helpful tips. The breakfast and Thai food she serves are both great. A nice extra: they provide a laundry service using cold wash and air drying, perfect for sensitive woolen outdoor gear. We stayed here to acclimatize to the altitude and could conveniently leave our luggage while we did the Santa Cruz trail, and come back for one last night. I highly recommend staying here during your trip to Huaraz.

Exceptional

Great place to relax after your daily adventures. There is everything for a comfortable stay. Comfortable bed, clean bed linen, hot shower with good water pressure. Excellent sound insulation. Very quiet and absolutely clean. The location is also excellent. And the most important thing is the wonderful hostess Zarela. She is very cool and loves and knows her land very much. He will help you with advice and make your stay like at home. I will definitely stop again if I am in Huaraz

Hands down one of the best places I've ever stayed at, including fancy hotels – the room was comfortable with plenty of space to put stuff, the shower hot, wifi stable, common areas very well-thought through, lovely breakfast and a warm welcome.

Superb

Great host that helped us organise everything we wanted to do in Huaraz. The house and the room were very clean. The breakfast was very good, with eggs, bread, juice and tea. It was even left prepared for us when we were leaving early in the morning for a hike. Thanks!

Zarela is an excellent host - gracious, knowledgable and helpful, friendly and unintrusive. The hotel is simple, but clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, same as the owner. It is also a little away from the hustle and bustle in the center of Huaraz, which is a pleasant thing.

No complaints whatsoever! Was an excellent value and perfectly comfortable place to stay. Clearly the main landing pad for the climbing community.

Cosy stay with amazing food

Zarela is such a warming and friendly person. She immediately rebooked our reservation for one night as we could not arrive us planned due to a closed airport in Lima and welcomed us with breakfast the morning of our arrival. She has a lot of travelling recommendations for the lagoon hikes and how to get there. She also informed us immediately before traveling back to Lima about a road strike and helped us to make some phone calls to get out of Huaraz. The room was quiet and warm enough as well as the shower. The Thai food for dinner is amazing.

Best stay in Peru

Zarela was the best host. She helped us long before our stay to organize our individuel Huayhuash Trek. When we finally came there we found a beautiful house with nice people and a great Thai Restaurant. We would have loved to stay longer. Next visit Cordillera Blanca!

A great place to stay!

The rooms are clean and comfortable and well located, however the best thing about this hostel is the warm and friendly welcome from Zarela who was able to assist with information on treks in the area, store luggage whilst on over night treks, provide a packed breakfast when heading out early & helped with transport bookings too! Also the Thai food served for dinner in the restaurant is superb.

A lovely stay

Stayed twice, once before and then again after our hike. Breakfast was nice, an omlette cooked to order with bread, jam, fresh orange juice and the choice of coffee or tea. Zerala herself is wonderful, an absolutely delightful and well travelled woman. She's able to give recommendations around town, speaks excellent English and just lovely to chat with in general. My wife and I would gladly have her over for tea if she's ever in the UK. The facilities include a guest kitchen and a water filter (which can be a bit slow) but much more preferable than buying plastic bottles of drinkable water.

Quiet location and everyone was incredibly helpful - leaving out breakfast for me when I had to leave very early, looking after luggage whilst I went on a multi day hike and then even took me to the bus station when there were no taxis available. Very knowledgeable about the area too

The location is a little bit out of the centre - but the centre is very noisy. I much preferred the quiet here

Superb

La Casa de Zarela is a very specially designed place. Very stylish with many places and several terasses to sit. It's very much a hikers- and mounteneers place, both to start as well as to relax after strenghtuous days in the mountains. Zarela is a great lady. Very informative on hikes and places to go to in Huaraz, and really helpfull to organize matters. She speaks really good English. Breakfast is very nice in a comfortable dining room.

Relaxing Stay Near Beautiful Hikes

La Casa de Zarela was a wonderful retreat during our stay in Huaraz. Zarela is so hospitable, made a delicious breakfast, and gave great tips for hikes to do and food to eat in the area. The lodging itself is comfortable, clean, and absolutely gorgeous, with hummingbirds that come to visit the garden and nice views of the mountains.

The only place to stay in Huaraz!!

Everything - I couldn't fault my stay at La Casa de Zarela. The location is very safe and close to the main square. The rooms were clean and spacious with great hot showers. Breakfast was superb and the Thai food in the evening was devine! Zarela went above and beyond to help me organise activities, linking up guests and also was so kind and helpful when I was sick. It could only be described as a home away from home and I look forward to visiting again some day!
