A beautiful location and relaxed vibe. Glad we chose it!

A beautiful place with a unique view. Very helpful and kind staff. Our room was large with a comfy bedroom. The highlight was getting up at 6am to watch the sunrise (thanks to our manager for the tip!) In our opinion this seems like a much calmer, more beautiful place than the accommodation in the centre of Ella town. (The hotel is about 15 minutes drive south from the town centre, on the right road if you’re heading to the south coast afterwards.) Our dinner was excellent and the price was better than fair compared to other equivalent places.

Maybe a slightly larger bed? Otherwise nothing.

We had a wonderful stay at Planters Bungalow.

Very peaceful, private location in the midst of lush vegetation with amazing views! The staff were very polite and helpful and made us feel at home within minutes of our arrival.

A fantastic experience, memories that will last forever ❤️

Fantastic few days, staff were incredibly, so happy to help with any requests. Definitely recommend. Excellent service from all the staff always went the extra mile with special touches, thank you to the two young man who served breakfast, kavindu Dilshan and his young friend 👍 who’s name I can’t remember now sorry. Thank you for an amazing experience ❤️

A lovely oasis of calm in beautiful surroundings.

Staff were lovely and very helpful. They provided a gluten free breakfast at short notice for my daughter with Coeliac disease. We stayed in the lovely Mountain View rooms which I would highly recommend.

Our best stay in Sri lanka, incredible staff, location, botanical garden and food!

We liked everything at the Ella Planter's bengallow, Special mention to the Friendly and profesional Manager, Jagath and his staff that we will never forget! great location in nature and the food was excellent

Mango room views and service are unbeatable.

Amazing views from room and immersion into the jungle. Comfy and clean room and top service compared to other nice hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka over past 30 days. Delicious food and cocktails. Well-maintained property. Glad we stayed 3 nights, anything shorter would have felt too short. transportation to sites and hikes easy to get.

Staff were fabulous , nothing was a problem. View was amazing from the room , well worth the upgrade to the mountain view rooms Breakfast and dinner were fantastic and happy to accommodate my dietary requirements Would defiantly stay there again.

wonderful

secluded, very clean, boutique stay with beautiful mountain and jungle views and gorgeous rooms. delicious food, great service and super efficient, friendly staff. we loved Sarath who served us so well and our manager. definitely will come back again.

nothing to dislike in particular a little bit away from the main attractions and town Centre but this was ideal for us and was a nice scenic ride to get to places.

Fantastic !!!!

Room upgrade to mountain view suite !! Very delicious à la carte menu with lots of options. I really like this hotel, beautiful garden, great swimming pool, very friendly staff etc. Don't hesitate!!

Tranquil paradise in Ella

Beautiful rooms, lovely view and great hospitality. They looked after us exceptionally well. The food was delicious and the chef made modifications to suit our taste. portions were generous.This place is away from the touristy Ella just the way we wanted it. it was also cool to see the troop of monkeys that regularly visit. Getting to Ella town is easy- they even have their own rickshaw!

A magical oasis outside the hustle and bustle of Ella. A home away from home.

Planters Bungalow was a wonderful place we visited as part of our honeymoon. A proper retreat from the hustle and bustle of Ella. It felt magical to wake up to hear monks chanting and see the sunrise in the middle of the jungle. Our room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. The food was delicious and generous portions. The staff were exceptional and one of the best service we’ve experienced. it was one of our most memorable stays we’ve had (and excellent value for money compared to some 5 star experiences on this trip). We can’t wait to visit again!

Not a good experience

We liked that we booked it for one night only. Because there was nothing to like.

It was dirty with cockroaches in the kitchen zone. The room in pictures look much better than it was in reality. The building needs renovation and good cleaning. Windows were really very dirty. Breakfast poor. No Wi-Fi in the room.

Escape to the Sri Lankan jungle

You truly feel like you are in the middle of the jungle staying here! We felt completely emersed in Sri Lankan nature and wildlife. The staff were very welcoming and made us cups of tea on arrival. We ordered dinner to the room and the food was excellent and great value for money. We had to leave very early the next day for our Yala safari, but the team were there to greet us and had a takeaway breakfast ready at 4am! Great hidden gem amongst the Sri Lankan wildernesses!

Nice stay in forest away from Ella, but somewhat overprised

Great view, nature, spacious room, design of rooms, historical setting, good food

Value for money appears overpriced compare to other options in Ella The next time would stay in Ella instead to enjoy some great local restaurants

you do not want to miss out of this place

I cannot talk highly enough about Ella Planters Bungalow. It is a peaceful oasis and the pictures on booking.com do not do it justice. the staff are wonderfully attentive, the food is delicious, the setting is stunning, the rooms are comfortable and nicely finished, and the location is only 15 minutes from busy Ella centre. all underpinned by excellent value for money.

I honestly can’t think of a thing.

Recommendation !

It's an amazing place to relax before and after your day trips. Great views, restaurant with good food, cheap scooter rental. You got everything you need. Staff is very friendly on top.

It's 15 minutes driving from Ella. But you don't wanna stay at the busy city ;)

Stunning!

A stunning location looking across tea planations and mountains. The abundance of wildlife that you can watch just from your balcony was amazing. The service from the staff was fantastic especially as we had an incident while we were there separate from the hotel. They were incredibly supportive and ensured we got all the help we needed. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others

Rural magic in the jungle

A beautiful property in the jungle. I will never forget waking up to the song of Buddhist monks and drinking morning tea on the terrace of my room overlooking the endless greenery of the jungle. Lovely and friendly staff, perfectly clean hotel. The photo of the pool surrounded by banana trees is one of the most beautiful I took in Sri Lanka. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to you! It is magical and charming. I thank to all the staff and see you again!
