Excellent séjour.

Excellent stay, lovely hosts and good location.

We had a small self catering, studio room, very well appointed and comfortable bed. Hosts were very attentive and helpful, we had an issue with no hot water, it was very soon sorted, and we were offered alternative shower facilities.

A comfy chair to sit in, the dining furniture was garden furniture, very good quality, however, not too comfy for long term sitting, would have preferred a couple of tub chairs instead.

We enjoyed our stay and we would return without hesitation.

Our self-catering apartment (including conservatory) was spacious, relaxing and quiet, being well out in the countryside and neighbouring the well-known former RAF base. The beds were particularly comfortable and the wi-fi was good. Enough basics (e.g. tea, coffee and dishwasher tablets) were supplied to last us throughout our two-night self-catering stay. There was plenty of car parking space. The kind landlady was particularly sympathetic to an accidental breakage.

There is very little to criticise. The shower pressure was slightly lower than preferred and the TV channel choice was basic. We found dead insects, on arrival at our otherwise clean self-catering apartment, so it was possibly unoccupied and uninspected for a few days before our visit.

Very comfy and calm

The breakfast was nice and simple, lots of options. They do cooked breakfast and cereal. I had poached eggs which were nice. The room was comfy, with a TV and I had an en suite. All clean. The parking is round the back of the property and feels safe. I was able to leave my car there. The village is a quiet place. The dining room is pleasant to eat in

There was the owners kid talking loudly in the evening while I was trying to get to sleep, it would have been nice to have the bedroom doors closed so there was less sound. But that's only minor

Really nice warm and comfortable room was very cosy and nice touch underground heating in shower room and hosts very welcoming and friendly plus out side area very peaceful and well kept will visit again also having milk and coffee there on arrival was nice .

lovely break in the country side with easy access to York

apartment had all the amenities needed for a short family break. great outdoor space. main building is lovely period house with plenty of character. place is clean. lovely walks nearby. easy access to park and ride for York. host was very helpful with tips how to make the most of our stay.

apartment itself is modern and lacks character. especially the sitting room is bare and not very nice. that’s a bit of a shame. pubs are not quite a walking distance as they are 30 mins walk each way which is much for young kids.

Just perfect - 10 /10

From the communication between the owners and myself to me checking out was just excellent - I was greeted in a friendly professional manor, helped in with my bags; I had room 7 with a four poster bed - sofa, large bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi bath. plus a beautiful view of the garden. It was all so beautifully set out - very clean and extremely comfy Plenty of tea, coffee and bottles of water - small fridge on the landing with fresh milk in. Breakfast plenty of choice and a time slot to avoid a lot of people eating at the same time - Location - I was here working so location was great - it is also a short drive to two large shopping centres. Highly recommended -

Definately 5 star. Very convenient for park and ride for a visit to York.

Our stay passed so quickly. Rachel and Izzy were very friendful and helpful. Fabulous, comfortable extra large room with super shower. Excellent breakfast.

The Manor House is located in a small village off a quiet road. Most of the other guests seemed to be regulars and all of an age where there was no problems with noise etc. Comfortable double bed in a clean room with wooden beams. The next village along, Newton, is just over a mile away on a level footpath - some guests walked there and back. Relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of parking in stable yard at back.

Not VAT registered, which business travellers would need to be aware of. The en-suite wasn't particularly big or modern but served the purpose.

Overall it was a good experience- allied to the enjoyable trips to nearby York

Breakfast was traditional English cooked breakfast, with basic range of cereals. It was promptly served and was well cooked. Professional, helpful friendly staff. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The en suite bathroom and shower were clean. There was ready access to a nearby shared fridge with fresh milk for room tea/coffee. There was also plenty of bottled water. The location was a 10-15 minute drive to a Park and Ride (with buses going into York).

Suggestion: the sausages were a bit average and a tastier type would greatly enhance the breakfast. There was a farmyard odour from nearby farms which could not be helped; it added to the rustic experience.
