Enjoy unparalleled luxury in this amazing restored local style home in historic West Kauai. Here you will find a quiet walk back into time, with the best weather on the island. Less than 15 inches of rain, and sunny almost everyday, you can walk for miles on uncrowded white sand beaches. Glorious sunsets are seen all year round from only this part of Kauai.

Located at the foot of the Waimea Canyon, there is easy access to the many natural sights that has been called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Spectacular waterfalls cascade over vermillion cliffs into the Waimea River below. Explore the many sounds and sights, that nature has to offer, on countless trails for hiking. In less than 20 minutes, you can be up to the top of the mountains, where many of the hikes begin.

This wonderful, and upscale house was originally built in a bygone era. It was restored to the highest level of quality workmanship and design. It features hardwood floors, detailed trim, custom tiled baths, and a gourmet kitchen. Everything is new, with an emphasis on maintaining the integrity of the original design, including all custom made furntiure. A large covered rear lanai provides a sanctuary of quiet and calm, with lush plantings to provide privacy, and a genuine tropical feel. Here, you can dine alfresco in the shade of the late afternoon and evening. A new HOT TUB has been added for enjoyment and renewal, after a day of hiking and sightseeing. You will never want to leave your island home!

Inside you will find custom amenities rarely found in this price range. The furniture was custom made for comfort and island design. Every piece was selected by one of the island's famous interior designers to create the ultimate ambiance. The kitchen is a full size chef's delight, with everything you need, and could want, to create the perfect meal at home.
The bathrooms are fully tiled with walk in showers and pedestal sinks. The bedrooms feature comfortable beds with the highest quality linens. Thick thirsty towels await you after your shower.

There is cable TV, and high speed wireless internet, should you need to stay in touch with home or work. There is even a separate office/den, with a generous desk and work area.

The West Side of Kauai has the sunniest and warmest weather year round, and is characterized by it's unspoiled and uncrowded beaches. THIS IS NOT A RESORT AREA, but an opportunity to step back in time, into another era, in a sleepy town by the beach. People visit year, after year, once they discover the quiet and natural beauty.
The historic town of Waimea is only 3 miles away, providing grocery stores, restaurants, and even a restored cinema featuring current films.

Why spend your vacation taking a chance on rainy weather, which is often found on the north and east parts of the island. Come to Kekaha, where it is said: the West is BEST!

The house worked great for our family of 4 (2 kids - 20 and 18). It is very nicely decorated, clean, and the beds super comfortable. It has all amenities you could need for cooking and for the beach including beach chairs and towels. Loved having a hot tub to use after our hiking adventures. The back porch was the perfect setting for our breakfasts. Kekaha is a little more remote and not as touristy as other parts of the island (which is why we selected this VRBO). It is really close to Waimea Canyon which is a bonus. Note, the beach adjacent to the house is not swimmable due to rocks/waves. When we were there in the summer, the water was right up to the rocks (so you can’t swim or walk on the beach). But you could hear the waves from the house which was a bonus. A really nice neighbor gave us a couple of mangoes when we were walking one morning. Highly recommend staying here!

Quiet, serene, virtually tourist free area. Easy, back road access to Waimea Canyon. A far cry from the hordes of Poipu and Koloa and the north shore. Went to Salt Pond beach every day for a swim after hiking. Kids loved the bigger but still manageable waves. Beds very comfortable, back yard and lanai lovely.

Cute cottage with nice accommodations. Perfect location near Waimea Canyon and great for hikers. Quiet neighborhood. It was a little farther out of the way for us but still doable. We were disappointed that the gas grill propane tank was empty but we worked that out as well. Easy communication with proprietor. We enjoyed our stay. Mahalo

This was our first trip to Kauai and on our last trip to Oahu we stayed in a VRBO and loved it, so thought we would try that here. We were not sure where the best location was to stay on the island, but decided on Kekaha and this property. Wow, what an excellent choice! This property is a great location if you want to stay away from the crowded east side of the island. We drove to Ha'ena State Park one day and it was so crowed and touristy feeling on that side of the island and we could not wait to get back to our quiet side! This property is an older restored house as the description states, but it was so nice! The back yard is like having your own Disney resort! We spent every evening on the back lanai just relaxing and enjoying the breeze and hot tub! There is a mango tree on the neighbors property, but it would drop 3 or 4 mangos a day in our yard and we would eat them every evening...so fresh and juicy! Then, the little lady next door even brought us some in a bag, but we could not eat them all! The neighborhood is kind of a mixed bag. Some houses are kind of in disrepair and others have been restored and are beautiful. We enjoyed the mix of people and would stay here again in a heartbeat! The ocean is just a block away and we would walk there to watch the sunset almost every evening. A beach to swim in is just a short drive down the road. The Kekaha beach was never very crowded and we enjoyed it more that some of the other big tourist beaches.

We had sucha good time here! This was our first time in Kauai and we r happy we chose this sunny and quiet location. The house is super cute and they just updated their air conditioning. The hot tub was perfection. We liked to start our day as the sun was coming up with a good soak. The back yard is so perfect. The covered lanai makes it a perfect place to hang rain or shine, and the privacy was awesome. We loved the neighborhood. We felt safe, it was quiet and the people around us were friendly. The beach is a short walk away and there r a couple of little convenience stores just a few blocks away as well. We met Scott after a day or two of settling in and he was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. We appreciated his communication throughout our stay whenever we had a question. We loved Allen, our groundskeeper- whatta sweet man he is and we loved chatting with him. If we could have made one suggestion that would have made our stay even better- it would be to have had a couple of gravity chairs for suntannig in the back yard that can be tucked away when we r not using them. We will definitely be back! Mahalo Nui Loa 🌿

If you want a lovely rental in a small community far from resort-Kaua’i, this is the place. (Although nowhere on Kauai is, in fact, very far from anyplace else - it just feels far from resort-Kauai.) Peaceful setting, roosters and cats in the neighborhood, hot tub in the spacious back yard, well-equipped kitchen, mini-split HVAC heads throughout (which were barely used), responsive management - great rental. There is a minor downside to experiencing life on Kaua’i in its westernmost community - you might have a 30 drive to some activities (Poipu beach, excellent restaurants in Koloa/Poipu, beach/hills horseback ride at CJM Stables, etc) and you are as far as you can get from Hanalei (but still only 90 min). But it is a block from a patch of beach, a two minute drive to Kekaha Beach, and 15-30 min to good snorkeling at Salt Pond, Lawa’i, Koloa Landing, Poipu. The trips up the Na Pali coast sightseeing and snorkeling are just minutes away - and if you have the right Jeep rental (suggest Ali’i), the heavily pot-holed gravel road to Polihale at the nearby west end of the main highway gets you to the beautiful, lengthy, very remote sand dunes and beach. And the road up to the Waimea Canyon lookouts and trails starts two blocks away. Highly recommended for those who prefer an alternative to a resort condo rental.
