The owners of the place are amazing! Super helpful and have so many good tips on what to do and where to eat in Rivas and Ometepe.

The housing itself was a bit simple, but had all you need.

Good location, reasonable price, friendly and helpful owner Julietta!

It’s a basic place which is advertised and priced like one. Some noise at times but it’s the city.

Don't be fooled by the lovely host reviews

Location was good, price was OK. Facilities were clean.

No doubt I will get a sarcastic response as Julietta doesn't like to be challenged on anything. Though she will say it's because I had food on my bed (I did not). When I arrived I went straight for a nap, and woke up to tiny ants biting me, they were all over the bed frame, bed, and curtains on the window. (Any food I had was sealed and in a bag hanging on the door with not an ant in sight). She did come and spray and that sorted the problem, but she seems to blame the guests every time even though they are crawling on the curtains too. When I asked to do washing she told me 10cordoba per piece, when I gave her 22pieces(yes underwear counts as 1 piece) she charged me 300..... do the math? Finally, i didn't want to take the taxi she organised as he was charging more than double what it should cost to get to the port, I told her this many times, I'm happy to share that price but not paying it on my own. She booked him anyway, then when I asked if it could be done any cheaper she just sent him away, forgot her English, refused to tell me what safe taxis look like, and told me it's not her problem to organise transport....... FYI maximum rivas Town to port is 100cordoba, no bartering needed. I can only assume all the other reviews that had been so happy with her help paid the $6 to get to the port. Whilst it may not seem much, she is clearly cashing in on this and made me feel she is untrustworthy. If your happy to pay over the odds then she will be delightful to you I'm sure. It's a shame as it let's all the other positive things down.

I had a very comfortable, affordable stay here, and would recommend it for budget travelers.

It's a comfortable, charming place walking distance from downtown. Very affordable, and Julieta is super-kind and loves to help people. I will visit again!

Very chill place, more like a Bed n Breakfast than a hostel. Owner is very nice and great to chat with. out of the chaosis of Rivas. but a short walk to the city centre.

Great place with a wonderful hostess

Julieta is such a wonderful hostess! She is super kind and helpful, she helped us find out which busses we had to take to go to Léon. Shower and toilet were clean, and the hotel is locked with a gate, so we felt safe at night. The room was great for a night, good value for money! I would definitely recommend this place

The people were so helpful, caring and just great. My friend and I had a medical problem we had to deal with and we could not have had a better place to stay. Thanks a lot!!

Good Experience, recommended

The hosts are great. The hostel is in a good location if you are looking for the Tica bus but also close to the center. The place is clean (rooms, beds, sheets, bathrooms all very clean) and pleasant and I would definitely recommend it.

The rooms are very small so it can be a little uncomfortable if you are staying for more than a night or 2. They close the outside area pretty early (the place is located in a quiet area) which is not that bad but because the room is small you can't really hang out with friends after 10 and for us, it was our last night together so we did want to hang out a little more.

Stopover accomodation in Rivas

Friendly owners with good restaurant recommendation. Very basic but comfy accomodation for a stopover, nothing else

Owner told me there are no buses to San Jorge which there are. Seems everyone.in Rivas wants tourists to get their taxis

Nice place, nice people

The owners (seňora Julietta and her partner) are great and helpfull people. They make welcoming atmosphere. Rooms are simple, but clean. They can arrange for you a massage provided by seňora Carla, which we can only recommend! This place was our first in Nicaragua and we are grateful for that. It is not far from the centre.

It was a perfect stay🤩

Rex and Julieta were excellent hosts and took care of us in the best way. We felet comfortable and had really nice talk with Rex over a beer. We are very happy that we met them both. We really recommend this hostel.

Really nice hostel

Owner of the hostel was really nice and helpful. I truly recommend it especially if you are not very good at Spanish language. He will help you out with any problems which may occur. Thumbs up 👍

Highly recommended!

The owner is very friendly and smiles a lot. The room was clean and it‘s very calm and safe here. We enjoyed staying here and recommended it to everyone!

Perfect no-frills stay!

Extremely clean and great wifi! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always around. We used it as a base for day trips to Ometepe, San Juan del Sur, and Granada - I'm glad we did! If you are looking for a no-frills place to stay, this is the one!

If you are looking for a hotel, this isn't your place; you get what you pay for. But if you want a roof, a bed, and a friendly face, this is the best place around!
