A warm welcome

A quiet location with a very warm welcome from friendly staff in a pub well supported by the local community. Home cooked evening meals were delicious and generous.

So friendly and lovely area

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and truly dog friend. Very kind our large dog (gave him sausages) and the pub was very cosy with lots of character and nice locals. Central heating in the room really great in winter. Breakfast was excellent! Rooms are separate to the pub so very quiet if you want to go to bed also.

A character property run by friendly staff in a quiet country setting.

Breakfast not a lot of choice, but what we had was well cooked. Evening meals were plentiful and freshly cooked. Our room was a good size but the paintwork needed a touch up.

It would have been nice to have had our room serviced daily whilst we were staying there.

Location to an event we were attending was superb. Nice country pub with rooms at the back. Breakfast in price was excellent.

Unfortunately a error with our booking at the hotel end. We had booked a twin but a double was only available. As friends we muddled through.

Good old fashioned country pub with exceptional service, food and accommodation

Wow! How amazing to walk into a good old proper English pub! A warm welcome from the locals, bar full, dogs on benches, and good banter all round. We checked in to our room, exceptionally clean, spacious, nice bathroom with bath and shower. food was lovely home cooked, nice wine nice beer, great company and without a doubt, we will be back!

Good food in the evening (modern and international but with a British touch), fine and full breakfast in the morning (very tasty sausages). Room was tidy and clean, for three people with luggage still fitting but not to big.

Nothing to mention. The price was not the cheapest but overall absolutely within the rather high prices in England in summer of 2023

Disappointing breakfast

Nice, rural location. Morris dancers doing a show was a pleasant surprise.

The breakfast offering was below expectations, especially for what is listed as a 'gastro pub.' Just a few, basic cooked breakfast items available, and nothing vegetarian was listed (although they did cook us a vegetarian sausage on request). The portion size was small, (one sausage, one bacon rasher, one piece of toast each), with no variety.

Staff were excellent, very friendly. Food excellent. Very welcoming. Great location for exploring area. Lots of walks for our dog, who was warmly welcomed too. Very good value.

lovely, great pub, clean and comfortable stay

The landlady Sam was lovely. The room was great, clean and comfortable. breakfast perfect.

the only downside (no fault of the property) however we didn’t get a great nights sleep as the rooms either side of us were back and forth between rooms until the early hours without a consideration for us.

Lovely pub, amazing food and friendly and accommodating staff

The food was excellent and the staff were lovely and accommodating to our request for my son to have some balloons in the room and a cake for his birthday.

The room was cold even though the heating was on.

Very good

Lovely village, yummy food. Pub was your typical country, lovely atmosphere. Room were just right, everything that you need.

Bathroom had stone flooring so was freezing to walk on but apart from that it was all good
