Magnífiques vistes

El que mes m'ha agradat han sigut les vistes al mig de la muntanya, rodejats de natura i gaudint de l'oxigen del camp i de la pluja. A més hi ha un blue eye al costat que es pot anar a fer i no és gaire turístic.

Fantastique !

Tout a été parfait du début à la fin. Nous étions seuls avec Maria aucune autre réservation à cette période. Nous étions en plein milieu des montagnes. On était en immersion totale on a adoré! La gentillesse de Maria est indéniable! Nous reviendrons ça c’est sur!! Le dîner et le petit déjeuner était au delà de ce qu’on aurait imaginé ! Tout était fait maison. La literie, la chambre etc.. tout était parfait ! Merci Maria pour ton accueil fabuleux! Et la petite attention de ce matin. À bientôt

INCREDIBLE eexperience - I wish stayed longer in Maria's oasis.

Incredible spot, Maria is the greatest host. She handmakes cheese, yoghurt, butter every day for you. Breakfast is a epic spread, dinner for 12E is great too. Lovely communal vibe, small bar next door.

A walk from the town of Theth - but honestly there's no need to hang out there! Maria has everything!

Leider krank erlebt

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist wunderschön, jedoch ist sie mit einem Auto ohne Allradantrieb äußerst schwer zu erreichen. Dies stellte für uns, insbesondere mit einem normalen Opel, eine große Herausforderung dar. Leider war ich während meines Aufenthalts sehr krank, was meinen Gesamteindruck beeinflusste. Trotzdem habe ich am Abendessen teilgenommen, was sich im Nachhinein als keine gute Entscheidung herausstellte, da es mir danach sehr schlecht ging. Auch wenn ich aufgrund meiner Erkrankung einige Unannehmlichkeiten verursacht habe, war ich doch froh, wieder wegzukommen. Die zusätzlichen Kosten für die Fahrt zu unserem Auto wurden uns in Rechnung gestellt, was im Nachhinein akzeptabel erscheint. Insgesamt handelt es sich um eine Gemeinschaftsunterkunft, die ihren Zweck erfüllt. Mein persönlicher Gesamteindruck wurde jedoch stark von den genannten Umständen beeinflusst.

Chouette séjour au milieu des montagnes !

Maria est très accueillante et maternelle avec ses invités ! L’ambiance est superbe, et la literie est très bien ! Le repas du soir et le petit déjeuné préparé directement par Maria est délicieux ! Le lieu est juste sublime, en plein milieu des montagnes !

Attention, l’établissement est à environ 40 minutes de marche du centre de Theth. C’est une grande maison de campagne, avec beaucoup de bois donc l’isolation phonique n’est pas top selon la chambre où vous vous trouvez.

Poor service and food, need to arrive by 6pm for dinner.

A spectacular location and comfortable bed.

We hadn't realised that dinner was served at 6pm with little flexibility. We had a very long walk that day so only arrived at 6:20. When we asked about dinner at check in, we were rushed down to the dinning room and didn't even get the chance to take off our walking boots. Dinner was disappointing and consisted of a small bowl of chicken soup and a selection of cold grilled vegetables. After having been walking all day we really needed (and had hoped for) a bit more, especially for the price. Water was provided in jugs but we weren't given any glasses so couldn't drink any. We asked for a second bowl of soup and this was provided but it was stone cold. When we checked in we were given the option of breakfast at 7 or 8. We choose 8, but when we arrived most other guests had already eaten and there were only leftovers available. We were given no service at all and weren't even provided with a plate. Thankfully we found a spare one at the other end of the able which we shared between the two of us, otherwise we would have had to eat off the table. Despite having booked a twin room, we were given a much larger room in a building a little up the road from the main guesthouse (no extra cost). The room was basic but comfortable, but the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned since the previous occupant (hairs all over the floor), and there was no shower curtain. Overall, we would have expected better for the price we paid (40E).

Experiencia increíble

María es una persona extraordinaria. Te hace sentir completamente en casa y está disponible para cualquier cosa. Su comida excelente. La casa es preciosa con un encanto especial. Se encuentra en medio de las montañas y hace que te sientas en un cuento. Además, desde ahí puedes hacer las rutas más conocidas del lugar. Como consejo para futuros visitantes. Si vuestro coche no es muy alto, es mejor que aparquéis arriba, Justo cuando acaba la carretera y os desviáis al camino de piedras para llegar a la casa,en un pequeño llano y bajar andando unos 20 minutos. Así lo hicimos nosotros y no pudimos estar más agradecidos por no destrozar el coche ya que el camino de piedras es complicado. Además, así podéis disfrutar del paisaje. E

Plus un logement chez l'habitant qu'un hôtel. Dans une grande et ancienne maison à 2 km de Thet, Maria a su donner une atmosphère sympathique à ce lieu.

Maison ancienne avec plancher en bois donc peu insonorisée ce qui n'est pas gênant car les horaires sont décalés ( repas à 18h).

It’s not a match

Very well situated with about 20 minutes walking to the start of hiking trail of Valbona Pass. Hostel like atmosphere with many nice and different people to meet and chat in the evening. Domestic cattle on the premises, good village vibes. If you travel by car, do not turn on the sign to the accommodation. Instead drive on paved road until Theth village, from where the road to hotel is shorter and easier, also for non 4x4 vehicles. We drove a regular albanian mercedes.

Unlike many other previous reviews here, it wasn’t a match between us and the host Maria right from the beginning. Maria’s English knowledge is non-existing, making it very hard to communicate. We arrived at 17:00 and wanted to have dinner either straight away or at later hours than she has proposed (18:00) as we still wanted to walk to the city this evening. Maria was clearly angry at us and demanded to come to dinner at 18:00 if we want to have it at all. However, then we came back at 20:30, other people were still served a dinner. Seemed that the host was all the time very stressed, angry and unfriendly. Expect to wake up as the first guest does and go to sleep as last one, because absolutely everything is heard and felt in the house. We slept in a room next to shared toilet and kitchen and we woke up already at 6 am in the morning by Maria herself, who then was angry at us that we talked “loudly” at 6:50am when the whole house was awake already.

Maria was the loveliest host, cute farm animals, lovely food and cozy rooms. A short walk from lots of the bigger hotels/guest houses so made it very peaceful. Dinner and breakfast lovely <3

Stay by the end of the hike

The place is really nice, it is surrounded by a farm. Was good to recover there after a long hike. The food was super good, both for dinner and breakfast. The rooms/building felt cozy and authentic.

There was some confusion with the booking, and we ended up staying in a bigger room, we were not charged more though. But I would confirm the booking with them a few days in advance by email or phone to avoid confusion.

Lovely stay in an amazing natural area.

Typical mountain house in the middle of the national park. Meals are fresh and sourced from the animals in the property.

One of the shared bathrooms is too small and the shower is in the middle of it without any curtains or glass doors.

On arrival was told my queen room wasn’t available because people stayed an extra night at the property due to rain and was put in a dormitory room on a couch. 30+ minute walk from the town centre and end of valbona theth hike

Do not recommend, don’t go there as they might not have a room for you

Not much really, the staff was friendly, but they came from a not acceptable mistake. We had the reservation here on booking and they did not have a room for us, also this happened to other people there.. This should not be acceptable by booking. The staff, in light of their mistake, were nice, and let us sleep for free (in a warehouse with no bathroom and no doors, but better than the street of course)

Amazing Owner, she cares for everyone and manages it well. Great homemade food, the table is always full so more then enough food for everyone. Very social place, people eat and sit together. Location is a bit outside but it's a benefit since it's quiet and more beautiful there

A warm welcoming and the hostes do the best for we get a nice time. It is à little far from the center but thé place is very beautiful (near the river and in front of the montains and by side the fields). I recommand warmly !

Perfect home stay and starting point for the hikes in Theth. Maria was lovely and we managed to communicate via Google translator. We shared the breakfast with all the guests staying there and could exchange. Perfect for rural, nature and hiking fans. If you are looking for more privacy I'd recommend a single room maybe in another place

Amazing food (both breakfast and dinner), which i needed after long days hiking. Maria is an amazing host and goes out of her way to help, I left my phone the day we hiked to Valbona but she sent it with someone and I was able to collect it in Tirana 2 days later!

One has to experience more then read.

Actually awesome but not really safe.

The area is fantastic with all the mountains around. The House and the lady are absolutly lovely. So much nature, so quiet, so many animals like pigs, cows, chickens an sheeps that live together in peace.

There was a big fire in the kitchen. It was very dangerous. We had to run outsite. One of the guests blew out the fire to rescue us all. There was no fire department around and poor safety standards.

amazing place to meet other travelers

Maria is very friendly owner always there for you… good dinner everyday… amazing surroundings and nice place to meet people… Highly recommend :) Its ok to driver a normal car down there… just use the road from the main-town and don’t drive late at night… Enjoy your stay ☺️

Great location in the middle of nature, good dinner and breakfast, super friendly staff who even drove us to Shkoder, when it was raining for several days. I really enjoyed my stay and met some nice people sitting together around the fireplace.
