Atty, the owner, was lovely and welcoming. He seemed really proud of his hotel and rightly so.

The room was lovely. Nice big bay window. Large bathroom. Clean and tidy room. Kettle, tea, coffee etc. were provided. The towels were big and fluffy. The room looked newly decorated making it light and airy. There was a nice lounge on the ground floor that you could relax in. The beds were comfortable with white bedding. The location was excellent making everything easily accessible. There was enough parking for about 8 cars

There could have been a few more coat hangers but I took my own.

Tea and coffee not replaced on day 2. Also mugs left dirty. No breakfast offered and no recommendations where to go.

Aynsley, the host was amazing, very welcoming, and available if we needed her. The beds were comfy and clean.

It was a bit noisy, but this didn't deter us as the location was bang on.

Very clean, warm, welcoming hotel. Booked room only en suite. Kettle, tv, iron, fan, lounge, parking - everything I needed was supplied.

Enjoyed the town of Southport, plenty going on.

There was no breakfast available very disappointed.

Someone on site would have been good. No toiletries. No water glasses. Poorly lit narrow staircase. No hair dryer in room.

Very friendly and accommodating host. Nice clean room in a quiet location but still close to restaurants. Comfy beds.

Wifi connection was a bit weak but I think it was overall for the city, not just this hotel.

Best Hotel I've stayed in

Mother and Daughter were brilliant, very friendly, and polite. we had a great welcome, which set us up for a good stay. Our room was brilliant, very comfortable, and well laid out. Our shower room and WC was very good,we stopped Friday to Sunday and could have stopped for a week. Would certainly stay again. THANKS for a Great Weekend

The room was clean and nicely decorated. Lovely quality towels in the bathroom.

Headboard was screwed to the skirting across the plug hole so that was a little inconvenient.

very comfortable bed and bedding superb shower considering the size or the bathroom

it didn’t trouble me but the stairs to room 7 are very narrow and could benefit from better lighting. it didn’t cause me any issues but might be difficult for the elderly

Another stay at my favourite place in Southport!

Another great stay at the Clifton Villa and another great warm and friendly welcome from lovely hostess Aynsley. Everything was perfect as usual, Aynsley keeps the place spotlessly clean. Bedding is always immaculate, crisp white cotton sheets and quilt cover. No breakfast service anymore due to understandable circumstances, but not a problem as this is reflected in the price and there are loads of places nearby to have breakfast due to the hotel's great central location in the centre of Southport. Aynsley is a lovely, down to earth hostess who will always find time to chat and engage with you and give you the warmest of welcomes. If you are looking for a spotlessly clean hotel in the centre of Southport with parking, then Clifton Villa is for you! Thank you Aynsley for another lovely stay and I do hope I will see you again. Value for money and pleasant place to stay overnight, but is unsuitable for more demanding guests

clean, location, very pleasant owner, freedom to come and go , price, Wi-Fi, parking (limited)

no bath but the shower is adequate, rooms are relatively small compared to main hotels, creaky floor boards (it was a problem because the guests above were moving around till about 2:30am). It’s room only - luckily there is a Wetherspoons nearby for breakfast
